Recently, we stopped at the Bantam Chef for lunch and enjoyed the fried shrimp meal with the hush puppies, slaw and fries. The shrimp were very tasty and not greasy at all, and the sides were good as well. Yum! |

The best fish sandwich I have ever had! Nothing fancy but the food is fresh and good. The oyster and shrimp dinner is awsome! |

This place is a shack with some picnic tables outside and is famous for its fish sandwich which is a bun piled high with a mass of non-descript fish. The fish is flavorless and the sandwich offers little else in it. I guess some people just prefer quantity over quality. |

I finally had a chance to sample one of these famous fish sandwiches. Well, they are very big and do have a huge pile of non-descriptive fish in them but I can't say they're so big on flavor. For the money they're a good deal and you won't be hungry after, but for flavor, even a McDonald's fish sandwich is much better and around the same price. |

The fish sandwich is really good (and gigantic). But also, try the fried oyster sandwich. It is truly unbelievable - delicious! Don't judge a book by its cover. Enjoy the food! |

I agree with the review below about quantity over quality. This is fish of no distinction piled very high in a bun. If you want a lot of "some kind of fish" then go for it otherwise go for flavor and quality elsewhere. |

Their fish sandwich was highly recommended by friends, and although you certainly get a lot of fish in it, the fish unidentifiable and not big on flavor. This is a classic case of quantity over quality. |

LOVE IT! The only reason I go to Jury Duty is to hit the "Chef" at lunch break! The brocolli bites and super cheesy and the BBQ sandwich is plate-lickable! Even my 4 yr old loves this place! |

Service was great but after reading all of the reviews we had to go try the flounder sandwich and it really wasn't anything special, it was huge and pretty good but with the high ratings I would have expected more. We also ordered shrimp and the hush puppies that came with that were VERY burnt. Also, it really wasn't the type of atmosphere we were expecting, kind of dirty and gross... next time we'll get it to go. |

OK, with all the reviews of the flounder sandwich I had to try one. Went there yesterday for lunch and the food was great! The flounder sandwich was definitely the best I've ever had and enough for three meals! Will definitely be back! |

I heard about the Bantam Chef from co-workers here in New Smyrna Beach, they all rave about the Fish Sandwich. I was in a Hurry, so i got the sandwich to go. WOW, it was to big to eat while driving so i picked at it all the way home and still had a whole sandwich to give to my wife when I walked in the door, She ate it cold and was VERY impressed... Today is my Birthday so we are going back for MORE !! cant wait for my friends to come down for bike weeks, FINALLY found them some place that they would LOVE. I would like to add you as a link at my website> www.bikeweekleathers.com Keep up the great work. |

This is the place if you like fish. I love it! Every time I go I take off some of the fish and make another sandwich out of it for later. It is well worth the money and the seafood platter is good also. |

I finally had my chance to go to the Bantam Chef today for lunch. I got the fish sandwich and it was practically bigger then me! Not to mention that it tasted great and was rather inexpensive, especially for how big the sandwich was. I'll be back real soon. |

Bantam Chef is absolutely superb. The flounder sandwich, unbelievable. I would swear there is close to 2 pounds of meat on that thing, and so flavorful and juicy. The cheese tots, incredible. I'd never heard of them, then I pop in one day and see that, had to try, now it's a regular. Fries are how they should be...Some salt, and a lot of nice grease, yet nice in crisp. Burgers are lean, hearty, juicy, and filled with flavor. Then last, but definitely not least, the BBQ Pork sandwich, amazing. Lots of meat, very moist, lots of flavor. You just have to be freaking insane NOT to like this...wait...scratch that... LOVE this place! |

Yep, the fish sandwich can't be beat. It rivals some from big cities that I've paid a whole lot $ more for. Get over the atmosphere and just enjoy a little people watching! |

Great food the fish sandwich is huge you need another bun as you can't get your mouth open wide enough to take a bite. The hamburgs are delicious. There isn't any inside seating, but the food is worth this little inconvenience. Even on a busy night the waite isn't long. |

Don't judge a book by its cover at this place. This place made the best flounder sandwich I have ever had! This this was a monster, it was so big I almost needed a 3rd hand to hold it. The bread was not soggy like most places, the lettuce.&tom was crisp and fresh. The freedom fries where a little greasy but good. I can't wait till I try more food from here.
As I waited for my food I noticed the staff was constantly cleaning, this is a good ole method called "Clean as you go!" The person that took my order was friendly and accommodating. I will go back to this place! |

You don't need a fishing pole to catch the freshest fish in the county. The Bantam Chef's flounder sandwich is what local legends are made of.
You are served some of the best tasting fried flounder on a giant hamburger bun. Did I mention that there is enough flounder on the roll for two sandwiches?
I cannot tell you about anything else on their menu. I heard about "the fish sandwich" tried it and was hooked.
Why would you go anywhere else?

We have purchased the Chef's flounder fish sandwiches on various occassions an have found the quality and taste to be the best that we have ever eaten. They are always freshly cooked and the quantity of fish per sandwich is ample for a meal. Highly recommend. |
