Favorite dining spot for real food! The price is right for the quality and portions of the food you receive! The servers are excellent, staff is friendly, and the cook even comes out to talk to you! I recommend lunch, only because of their crab cake sandwich and turkey sandwich.. both amazing! Atmosphere is awesome. Definitely a favorite in my book, and that is including St.Aug/Daytona Beach areas too! Come here and you won't be disappointed. |

We love Blue! The atmosphere is fun, and the food is really good. We live in Atlanta, but when visiting relatives in Jacksonville, we make a point of going to Blue. They do amazing things with seafood, and the service is fast and friendly. |

On the three or four visits annually to our friends in Palm Coast, our dining destination is a wonderful restaurant on Flagler Beach named Blue. Not only does it provide a beautiful view of the ocean, outstanding service, the cuisine is certain to have your taste buds dancing. I would highly recommend Blue to anyone who lives or is visiting the area. |

I grew up in Flagler Beach and at that time there wasn't anywhere REALLY good to eat, you had to drive to Daytona or St. Augustine. Chef Gary has really turned the options around though. I currently live 3 hours away but every time I visit family I make a stop at Blue. I most recently dinned there with my Grandmother, Aunt, 2 cousins and my sons. It was an incredible experience. My 9 yr old ordered the Blackened Sea Scallops Salad...he loved it! I ordered the Wasabi Horseradish Honey Crusted Salmon and all I can say it WOW! This dish definitely rivals any dish at Roy's Hawaiian Fusion! The rest of my dining partners has Fish Tacos and tell me they are to die for! The portions at excellent and more often than not I have leftovers. The value for the food is a steal!
I will be returning to Blue in July for my HS 20 year reunion and can't wait! Kudos to Blue for an excellent addition to Flagler Beach! |

Blue is absolutely our favorite restaurant. We have had friends visit from South Florida, North Carolina, Washington, D.C. and whenever they come to visit and we ask where they want to eat, there is no hesitation. It's always The Blue! Blue is also my favorite lunch spot. A beautiful view of the ocean and so relaxed. We have never been pressured to vacate our table and the wait staff are always up beat and happy. I have never had a bad meal or experience there. |

There are not many first class restaurants in Palm Coast. Whenever I have a special occasion or just want a great meal I always end up at Blue. The combination of great food, good service, and an excellent seaside view make Blue the winner. My favorite is the salad with scallops. The chocolate cake and carrot cake is a killer. My only complaint would be that I eat everything on my plate and overindulge on the dessert. I'm looking forward for my next occasion to visit Blue. |

Last Friday the 4 of us went to diner which we have done many times. My sister and her husband are from FL and they came to visit. Three of us ordered Roast Duck and my sister ordered Spinach & Mushroom Ravioli. My husband asked before the meal came out what the vegetable is and the waiter said mixed. So our meal started coming out. My roll was so hard I could not eat it and we told the waiter Noting was done. My brother-in-law's salad was not good. He complained to us on this. Our main courses came out. My sisters Ravioli was swimming in oil which she could hardly eat. She did not say anything because it was late and didn't want trouble. She gave the dish back to the waiter and said she was done. She told me later it was the worst meal she ever had and would never go back again. My brother-in-law's Duck was tuff and dry. He told the waiter but nothing was done. My husband's and mine were tuff and dry but we ate it. Not good at all. The vegetables were green beans and we asked what happened to the mixed and all he said we must have run out He didn't seem to care. I called the Blue and talked to one of the owners to let them know all of our complaints and all I got is I am sorry and yes we have been having trouble with the Ravioli. We are working on it. Why would they sell it knowing that it is swimming in oil? We feel we paid a lot of money for terrible food. All 4 of us will never go back. Sorry does not get it! |

Yesterday 8 of us ate lunch at Blue. I had called 3 days earlier to make a reservation and explained that it was a birthday celebration, etc. I had been to Blue a few years ago and never imagined that we would be seated in the hotel lounge, a place that appears to have not be painted for 70 years - dark, dismal with a smoke alarm going off every few minutes and guests going in and out. The table looked like it had been thrown together - certainly not like the pictures in their ad. I explained to the hostess that I was not happy and instead of helping make the situation any better she implied it was my fault for not requesting a table in the restaurant. Our waitress did try to get someone to take care of the alarm and forty minutes later someone shut it off. The restaurant itself was chaotic and a mess. The food was adequate except for the Beef Bourgogne which was so over seasoned that it was indelible. We did not complain about it and they did take it off the bill that totaled $260.00. Would never go back. |

It all started with the location, as we drove around aimlessly we saw the sign that said Blue. We had never been to Flagler Beach and had come to visit some friends for the weekend. From the time we entered to the time we left we felt as if we were part of the family that runs the establishment. Our waitress Jenny was fantastic, she was very accommodating and had plenty of recommendations. The salads were great and the salmon even better. What was rather surprising is that the chef/owner had come to visit the table and asked how everything was. Now if that's not standing behind your product i don't know what is. We definitely will be back and would also recommend Blue as a destination in Flagler. |

Blue is a true gem....We have been to Blue several times while visiting family in the area. It is always on the top of our to do list while there and we have never been disappointed. The daily fish specials are out of this world.....fresh, flavorful and very innovative. Our only problem is making the decision what to have as we want one of everything, but the lobster bisque is a sure thing. The staff is always very friendly and personable and goes out of their way to make our evening enjoyable. We are already looking forward to our next visit. |

Blue at the Topaz is simply one of the best restaurants we have ever visited. Fabulous service, great food, and a wonderfully warm and inviting atmosphere and staff all add up to dining at its best! We live about 45 minutes away and have no qualms about driving over there for lunch or dinner when we want a treat! My husband says the fish tacos are the best anywhere -- the man gets choked up when he talks about how good they are! Chef Gary has amazing skills and is just a delightful guy who aims to please his customers; he loves to come out and chat for a minute to make sure everything is to your liking. We cannot say enough good things about Blue! If you are anywhere near Flagler County, stop by for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed! |

We went out to celebrate my husbands birthday tonight. This was our first time at Blue at the Topaz. Lobster Bisque had 3 pin head tiny little pieces of lobster, the salads were fair. My husbands rib eye steak was terrible! Grisly and tough but he kept trying to find some tender parts to the steak because we had waited quite a while for our meals and were very hungry. When the waitress asked us how everything was, I responded that his steak was very tough, but my husband was trying to eat it. That was a big hint and the response should have been: "I'm sorry, can I bring you another one? Or something else?" She gulped, disappeared for the rest of the time and we had to get another waiter to find her so we could leave. She presented us with our check. It was obvious my husbands steak was still on his plate, in pieces, mostly uneaten. The bill was over $50, and the food was not worth it. We are visiting family here in Palm Coast, and we will never come here again. I would have complained but my husband asked me not to, said the lady didn't care anyway, and we just needed to go home and never come back. We will NEVER go back. |

We have had lunch at Blue and couple times and loved it. Their Scallop Salad is to die for. Last Wed, we took friends for dinner since it was their anniversary. WOW. Everything was GREAT. Appetizers, entrees and wine, was very top notch. And the service could not have been better. Dinner was not cheap, but for a special occasion, well worth it. Better than I have ever had in St Augustine for similar prices. |

We arrived about 2 hours prior to closing. We were not seated, we asked to be seated, it didn't happen. We waited and waited and waited. Finally after closing, we were seated and told that the kitchen was closed and if we wanted to order, order or leave. The owner stated that he didn't care if we ever came back. I said quietly that it was by birthday and let's make this a memorable event. we come here on a regular basis and let's have a nice time. He stated that he didn't care about my birthday, if I ever came back and that he spent too many hours at his establishment anyway. Well, we left, we won't be back. The food was great in the past, the help professional but, it didn't happen tonight. I could say, good luck to you Blue but you said you didn't care. So, goodbye BLUE! |

I travel on business all across the nation & dine at some excellent restaurants. Being from the Atlanta area, which has an abundance of wonderful restaurants, I rate all the others I go to based upon the quality & overall dining experience I have here at home. The Blue at the Topaz rates right up at the top of the list. The selection is great, the quantity is astounding & the quality is top tier. The service is impeccable as well. All in all, just a most pleasurable experience! We dined there twice in the week that we were in town and always go to our favorite restaurant for our final night's meal - - needless to say our last night was spent at The Blue. When we go back to the Palm Coast/Flagler Beach area in the future, most assuredly we will be back at The Blue at the Topaz! |

For the area, the best restaurant available. Excellent professional servers, fresh ingredients, a terrific view and even the old building was clean. Our only minor issue was the NY Strip, we've had better cuts. Otherwise, 5 stars all around. The Hayman & Hill Vineyards Chardonnay was the best house wine we ever tasted. |

We have been coming to The Blue for over 5 years and have always rated it excellent. The last few times for lunch. Last night we came for dinner and were disappointed that they have removed the linens from the tables. It reduced the wow factor. The food was as good as usual but the server was not friendly. We will return but hope that we get a better server next time. |

Had another great occasion at Blue at the Topaz. My brother and his wife came in to town as they reside in South Florida. That is where restaurants are superb and numerous. They raved of the food and the service at Blue and complemented our server, Kevin as well as the chef on the preparation of the meals. Kevin is such a personable and friendly individual that he made the visit at Blue very enjoyable. My wife and I had my usual meal of roast duck, my brother had the seared tuna which he stated was outstanding, my two sister-in-laws each had the snapper special of the evening, which they each said was great, my brother-in-law and my best friend had the rib-eye which was tender and they enjoyed and my friend Maggie had the shrimp over pasta which was heavenly, but enormous. Great, time. Each visit to this restaurant becomes more memorable. And don't forget to visit they memorabilia room and their garage of antique auto's. |

We went with our family and this was our first time at Blue at the Topaz. Compliments to the chef, Gary. The dishes were well presented, and scrumptious. Our dinner party had the roasted duck, salmon with Wasabi sauce, and shrimp with pomodoro sauce. For desert one of our party members had the strawberry, mango cobbler that was delicious. The ambiance was perfect overlooking the ocean. We will definitely be returning. |

Visited Blue for a small dinner, Birthday Party on 5/31/08 with the family. We have dined at this restaurant previously. Food was superb as usual, service was outstanding and everyone had a great time. The chef visited our table to make sure everything was prepared to our satisfaction, something that does not happen in most other restaurants. I highly recommend Blue Topaz, especially for special occasions or to entertain visitors from out of town. The view across from the ocean is breathtaking. Our waitress, Brandi was outstanding. Thank you. |

We had dinner at Blue recently and had a great evening. The atmosphere was warm and interesting, the food delicious, and our server very professional. She took very good care of us. We were seated in the rear room as we were a party of 6 and the ambience was exquisite. We dined leisurely, and all our entrees were expertly prepared with great imagination. Blue is an asset to the community and a far cry better than anything St. Augustine has in the same price range. Bravo! |

We have found that Blue is a treasured oasis on our travels up and down the Florida coast. We stop by every chance we get! I love the choices on the menu, and their daily offerings are just as tempting and tasty. Every meal we've had has been really great! I have to agree in part with some of the other reviews that have commented on the length of time it takes to get your food. We have experienced that as well, but it's hard to complain when you get to sit and look out at the ocean, usually with a nice breeze. We enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and good food. Hope you will too! |

We shared the baked brie as an appetizer which was very good and for main courses, I chose the Ahi Tuna and my wife had dish with scallops. Both meals were superb! The service was excellent and the prices very reasonable for this type of quality food. I highly recommend Blue to anyone wanting a gourmet meal at great prices. |

We think Blue is one of the best restaurants in Flagler Beach. The interior of the restaurant isn't great but sitting on the outside deck gives you a great view of the ocean. We usually go for lunch when prices are more reasonable than for supper; however, the food, whether it's lunch or supper has always been wonderful. We usually visit with 2-4 others in our party and no one has ever been disappointed. Their fish tacos are the best and the scallop salad is wonderful. Oh, and let's not forget their burgers! Service has always been attentive and the presentation is beautiful. |

A good effort is made by Blue but I feel it falls short. It is not the high end establishment many believe. It is a restaurant inside a cheap seaside hotel but it does have an nice charm about it and historical artifacts make it quite interesting, however, it also expects you to eat from rickety resin chairs in a humid dining area. Service during our visit was friendly albeit slow. The menu is appealing and the food was reasonably well prepared but its flavor didn't quite deliver what the menu promised. The bisque was good but when offered fresh black pepper by the gentleman that bought it, he proceeded to produce the pepper grinder tucked in the back of his dirty pair of black pants which was highly unappetizing. Prices were too high for what we received. |

This was probably the nicest restaurant we visited during our stay in Palm Coast. And, it's part of a very unique hotel with quite an atmosphere of antiques. You must check the lobby area out while you're there.
The dining experience was just ok. It appears to be an upscale restaurant atmosphere wise but the service was not too good and the food wasn't great either.
Our salads came out in a fairly reasonable amount of time. But the rest of the dinner took way too long and our server had a little bit of an "attitude". He acted like it was no big deal that it was taking so long. And, when we ordered, any request we had that were a "bit" different than what it showed on the menu seemed to be asking for a lot.
I actually ordered just a bowl of soup which was good (the black bean) and the lobster salad. The salad was drenched in dressing and it was the mixed green lettuce so it was really soggy. I didn't realize they put the dressing directly on the salad, didn't sound like it in the description. The lobster tail was nothing to write home about. They threw on a few avocado pieces and that was it. Just sounded more fancy on the menu :-( Not impressed.
The kid's were starved and my daughter was not happy with her grilled cheese after the long wait (they used some kind of fancy cheese). She ended up eating everyone else's rice.
Everyone else seemed ok with their meals. There were no "wow" or "oooo's" about them. If the service wasn't so slow it may have been average to good...but since the service wasn't too good I have to rate this restaurant Below Average. |

The food here was phenomenal. The service was a little slow and they weren't great about being accommodating while we waited for a table (they were packed at 6:30 pm on a Sunday) but the food was DELICIOUS! I had the pan-seared scallops and I purposely asked the waiter how many I would be getting and he told me they usually serve 5 scallops with that meal. Well, I only received 3, but it was plenty of food and they were delicious. My boyfriend got the Hawaiian Ribeye Steak and it was AMAZING! He was concerned that it might not be a great cut of meat, but he was very pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend their food, but maybe not their service. |

We have been to Blue a couple times before and had a good meal with good service; so we went back last weekend for my husband's birthday dinner. Not so good. Our drinks and appetizer came quickly and the appetizer of Baked Oysters was wonderful. The problem started when we realized we had been waiting an inordinate amount of time for our main courses. The waiter came by twice to say it would be out soon, short handed in the kitchen, etc. When the food arrived, we were starving and our drinks were empty. When asked if I would like another glass of wine, I suggested that since we had waited so long for dinner, it would have been a nice gesture to have brought a complimentary glass to us. This suggestion was met with a surly glance and no comment. A glass was brought, but again, the surly glance, and no comment, just pretty much dropped on the table. The steak our friend had was nearly inedible it had so much gristle. My scallops, while they tasted alright, had been sliced in half, making it look like I had 6 scallops, although thin, but really only had 3! How strange. My husband's dish, a pork special, was good. Now, I'm not too anxious to give this restaurant another try. It is not so much the wait, or even the food, but the way in which the whole episode resonated and was handled by the waiter. |

We stayed at the Topaz and ate at the Blue during the week we were there. We had wonderful food, friendly people, and an amazing waitress (Brandi). Everything we ordered was first rate. Next time we are in town, this is the place we will go first. A great asset to Flagler Beach. |

Awesome! We loved Blue and the best food we've found so far in Flagler County. The Lobster Bisque is superb! |

I always liked Blue. However, lately they have been going downhill. The duck I ordered was very small and all bone. One of my dining guests had a mediocre steak and the other had chewy scallops that she needed to send back. We ordered a salmon dinner to go and couldn't believe the size of the portion, it looked like an appetizer. Please Blue, get your act together, I truly enjoyed dining there. |

I was there Saturday for lunch. While the Waitress was excellent, I didn't think the food was any better or any worse than any other place I have been in Palm Coast.
I just don't see the excitement about this place. Just another restaurant in my opinion. The best thing about it is the ocean view and quite frankly if I want that I will just go walk the beach. |

The quality of the food at this restaurant is so far above any others in the area that you cannot even compare it to anything. Try the calamari appetizer with the great fresh sauce, the rack of lamb, the duck, anything at all. We've eaten there several times. Don't mind the surroundings, the restaurant is attached to a motel, but you can get a table outside on the porch and look at the ocean. It's superb food. |

Blue was awesome!!!! The Coconut Scallop appetizer is absolutely delicious. So is the Spicy Pecan Salad, Corn and Crab Chowder, Hawaiian Rib Eye, and Roasted Duck. That's what we ordered last night and we were very, very, very pleased. We can't wait to go back and try some other items on the menu. (Although I will definately order the Coconut Scallops EVERYTIME I go there, YUM!!!!) |

Consistancy is what best describes Blue. Our favorite restaurant we consider it a night out with awesome wine list, the ambience of a 5 Star restaurant, well trained staff, great presentation and food that cannot be beat in Flagler County. Eating here regulary I always bring customers and out of town guest for dinner and we are never disappointed. For those that think this is a pricey place to eat just dont get what casual fine dining is about. The absolute BEST! |

After trying just about every restaurant in Flagler and Palm Coast, what a relief this summer to find one that doesn't do the heavy deep-fried fish platters! Blue at the Topaz not only has a great view if you dine on the covered deck, but it has an original and very fresh menu. We liked it so much we went three times in one week. Good stuff, and especially good if you want something different. |

Don't expect high end surroundings. Blue is a causal beachfront restaurant located off the lobby of the a hotel. But you can expect high end cuisine that is nicely presented. The menu has a broad selection and they always have daily specials. Our service was reasonably attentive and unhurried. Blue is one of the top local restaurants. |

An absolute gem, Beautiful view, Excelent atmosphere and lots of history. The restaurant is a converted mansion situated on a beautiful stretch of coastline. There is nothing like it for miles, diverse menu and reasonable prices. |

My wife and I have eaten here six or seven times, and we have never failed to be 100% satisfied with the quality of food served here. We can't think of a nicer restaurant in the area. Everything is fresh, well-prepared, never bland and accompanied by a decent wine list. Prices are reasonable for the quality. The entry is a little disorganized, however, and some of the wait staff could be more efficient. Nevertheless, we will be back many times. |

Ate here once and never again. Waited 10 minutes to get waited on and over 30 minutes for food. $1.79 for 6 ounces of soda with no refills ridiculous. |

We visited Blue in celebration of my parent's 51st wedding anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the attentive and professional wait staff to the superb entrees (the hawaiian steak dish was incredible!) it was a total success. My husband and I enjoyed it so much we are planning to visit them again for our anniversary this month. For a very pleasant, but not "cheap", special evening I highly recommend Blue. |

Friendly staff, and excellent atmosphere even while the weather wasn't the best. We had a very tasty lunch of Mahi, her's fried, mine blacked, and were very satisfied. We'll be back for dinner...the Hawaiian rib eye sounds enticing.

Actually I never sat down to eat. Stopped to see the place and a menu at about 6pm one evening. Three people standing around, had to ask someone about a menu. Wasn't impressed with the plastic chair decor and lack of interest by staff. I figured the food would be the same as my first impression. Didn't return and probably won't. |

I took my wife here for her birthday and we were both pleased.
For appetisers, she had the seafood bisque which was very good and I had seared Ahi Tuna which was perfectly cooked (rare) and excellent tasting.
Our salads were nicely dressed and very tasty.
For main courses, my wife had stuffed flounder with some kind of sauce that was (I think) mango and jalapeno. It was a nice combination of sweet and spicy (not at all hot).
I had the rack of lamb which was perfectly medium-rare and beautifully presented. The mustard in the sauce was a little too tart for my taste, but the dish was quite servicable.
For dessert, we shared a creme brulee which was delicious.
Blue was comfortable, attractively decorated and the service was prompt and attentive.
My only criticisms are that they don't have a full bar (beer and wine only) and, although they have an extensive wine list, my wife and I weren't up for a full bottle, so we each ordered a glass of Cabernet which was a bit lower in quality then one would expect from such a fine restaurant.
On the whole, this was a very pleasant experience and we will definately be back, hopefully in the daytime when we can enjoy the fabulous view.

The food was well presented but just didn't taste as good as it looked. I found it rather bland and it needed more "oomph!" Pricey too. Service was good and it's definitely a nice setting. |

BLUE is spear headed by John Reade, with Chef Troy Wendt by his side. If you are in the mood for the finer dining, and not in the mood for a lengthy drive (like Orlando), then BLUE is the place for you.
From the appetizers, soups, thru main course, to dessert, we found our experience to be more than delightful. The menu is as diversified has having Quesidilla’s for an appetizer, to Rack of Lamb for a main course. (May I suggest the calamari as an appetizer to begin.) Don’t just take my word for it, stop in and see John for a pleasant evening of fine food and service. |
