We came here as a group of ladies this past Sunday. Fish has always been good here except for the crab cakes. When my husband and I first came here in 2004 the crab cakes were great, filled with lump crab meat. Now the cakes are mostly fillers. Very disappointed in this, I love a good crab cake and this was not one of them. My fish taco was very good. The fish and chips were 3 large pieces of fish with a nice serving of FF. Everyone liked their dinners except the crab cakes. Orders took way to long to take and took long to serve our orders. |

"Dog Days of Summer Yappy Hour" On August 25th, The Golden Lion hosted a fundraiser for the Flagler Humane Society. This is the second FHS fundraiser that they have hosted. This one, "Dog Days of Summer Yappy Hour" was finger food, drink and an auction to bid on people's services. 64 supporters of the Flagler Humane Society showed up ready to bid.
The Golden Lion went out of their way to make this a success for FHS. Julio and the entire staff were great. Captain Nick and his lovely wife provided the music which they donated to FHS. The rating in all categories was "excellent". 34 Items were auctioned off to benefit FHS. Everything from house cleaning, massage, car cleaning and waxing, many types of home prepared foods. exercise classes, artwork, pet photo shoot. There was something for everyone. We look forward to working with the Golden Lion again for our future fundraisers. They did a fabulous job. |

Great fish tacos! I love these things and they're the best I've had beachside. Service isn't always the best but love the drinks and views. |

After a couple of not too good experiences, the Fish & Chips have been brilliant lately! Fresh and delicious! Hey guys, get the real malt vinegar please... that Heinz stuff is week LOL Can't wait to come back and thanks for being here. |

The Golden Lion is our favorite spot for Sunday lunch. I usually end up with their fish and chips but occasionally try other dishes and all have been great. Drinks are always great too and the views even better. Some servers better than others. |

We didn't let the rain ruin the fun and we had a blast at the Lion on the 3rd! Food was awesome and the drinks went down just as well. Service was slow but all in all a great time. You can't beat this place. |

I love the lion! Best place to be beachside with great views and fun atmosphere. Occasionally food and service aren't quite up to par but mostly very good. Love their burgers and tacos. Drinks are excellent. |

We enjoyed a great dinner and a fantastic view from the top. The wait person was very attentive and friendly. We dine at The Lion quite often and have never been disappointed. |

Can't beat the location and the views. Margarita's were awesome and the food was good. Service a little slow when you sit upstairs though, but who's in a rush with that view? |

We had our travel group meet at the Golden Lion on A1A. I have been there many times before and always enjoyed it.
This time, everyone in our group had a great time, the staff, the food and service was excellent! I was complimented on our get together and all I did was make the reservation. Julio and his staff are the best. We will definitely make it an annual event. |

We always enjoy our dinner at Golden Lion. We have prompt, friendly service and good food. We prefer to sit outside and usually there is live entertainment, which we like. We really enjoyed the couple that played on Mother's Day--they had a unique style that fit the day just right. We make a point to visit Golden Lion whenever we are in the area. |

Fish is great. Fish tacos also worth trying. Burgers very good as well. We go for the atmosphere. Not many places you can eat on the roof and see the ocean. We go about once a week. |

I love the Lion! I always order the same fish and chips and very occasionally they're not quite right and service can be aloof at times, but the views are always amazing and as longs as I have a cold beer in front of me I'm happy. This is a great spot! |

When I first came to Palm Coast over 4 1/2 years ago, my friends who had been here for 15 years took me to the Golden Lion. They really loved the place. My girlfriend's husband and I both loved the fish and chips and I had been there for lunch with my girlfriend, as well as by myself on several other occasions. I was back there with other friends a few months ago and was shocked at how it had changed. Apparently, they have changed the batter used in the fish and it is TERRIBLE! I will not be going back. |

The best service and food since coming here for the last 7 years! It seems like the Golden Lion is getting its act together. Service was good even though they were busy (Mothers' Day) and the fish & chips were great. Thanks Amy and Julio! |

I love the Golden Lion Cafe, they have great service and great food. It's a great place to go as a family or friends because you can enjoy great food on the ocean. The music is great you can request a song and enjoy. So I give the Golden Lion a triple thumbs up. |

This is a really fun place to eat when the weather is good. The fish n chips were alright but my kids thought their burgers were delicious. The server was friendly and the music set just the right tone for a cool laid back meal with the family. |

We were very Disappointed! The service was very bad, we had the bartender tell us if we needed anything to let her know, when we finally got a waiter, not very friendly. when we received our food, we had to wait for the waiter to come back to get our caddy, i had to keep asking the bartender for condiments. The food was not very good. We come to the GL often and I have to say We were very disappointed, the food was tasteless, not good at all, The waiter never came to check on us, when he did show up we told him not happy with the service and he pretty much said what did we want him to do. I will probably go back to eat there but if I see that waiter I will not sit anywhere near him. |

I don't think there is better spot to have lunch, dinner or just enjoy an evening out. There is good live music on any given night and the food is great! I defy you to find a better Chicken Quesadilla anywhere and if you like it spicy get it w/Jalapenos! Have you tried the Fish N Chips? Seriously? Unbelievable! This place is great. If you sit near the bar you'll even be greeted by the owner Tony, a British fellow - I guess that's why the Fish N Chips are so good!
I take all of my clients there and they love the atmosphere - I just wish I still lived in Palm Coast - I moved to Daytona Beach, but it's worth the drive. |

We moved up here two years ago and loved the place. Then for some reason the service went downhill. The food if you are willing to wait long enough is decent but not worth the aggravation of putting up with the service. We tried it again recently and waited 15 minutes at table without any recognition from a server let alone getting a drink. So we walked down to Finn's and had a great lunch. |

Our first visit was back in November 2009, and it was not a great experience. We decided to give the Golden Lion one more try, and that was tonight April 1 2010.
We arrived and were seated at about 7:30. At 8:45 we still had not received any food, although people around us had been served. We were a party of 2. There were two other tables with 5 or more people, and they were seated at least 15 minutes after us. They were served while we still were not. At about 8:50, we asked for our check and said that we will not be coming backing, and that Lagerheads, and Finn's would be our choice going forward.
And, then we received a check for (1) beer, and (1) cranberry juice. Really? a check? Complimentary would have been nice, given the fact that we waited for more than hour for food that never came. |

Great location and great staff, especially the manager who went out of his way to move heaters so we were warmer. Food was good and came quickly. Will go back once the weather warms up. |

Stopped in Thursday nite, the service was a little slow but it was easy to see that more people showed up than expected. The music was a lot of fun and the food was very, very good! |

I love this place! My cousin and I eat here often, and their Nachos are awesome! The Asian Pot stickers are really good too. Great atmosphere, fun place. |
