Great restaurant; food and service are superb. This restaurant is a perfect fit for the area - casual, laid-back, excellent sandwiches, salads, daily specials, plus their theme is perfect for the location beside the airport runway - a good place to catch celebs in the area for golf or NASCAR, alighting from private jets. I visited again on Tues, 8/10, had the Pasta Carbonara, a change of pace for me, but excellent nonetheless - a large serving. I commend them on the waitstaff too, attentive service, quick to bring another very icy Coors Light beer or refill tea. They also handle busy times very well, which has happened numerous times when I've been there. Also innovative desserts, sometimes a daily special.
But what I like best is the attitude they exhibited soon after the restaurant opened in 2001, right before 9/11. Apparently they struggled with their name after that tragic event, which they detail on the back of their menu. For this alone I wish them continued success - though their food, service and ambiance would seem to indicate this to be a given.
I hope to return soon and often. |

We went to High Jackers for lunch today. This is the 3rd time this month. First, we just love their Onion Petals. Crisp, tasty and come out right away. Their sandwiches have always be very good (ooh, love the beef tips sandwich). I tried the Bruschetta Burger today and it was cooked exactly as I wanted it. Hubby had the High Jackers Grilled Chicken sandwich, and I like as much, if not more than the burger. Oh, and the service was number 1 on all or our visits. And you also have the airplanes to watch. |

We have not visited in awhile. Very pleased that the quality/service was still supreme. Attendant was very busy (full house) for lunch, but was always there to check on our needs. Food was excellent, and delivered at the appropriate time (appetizers, soup, entree). We love watching the planes, and multiple stations on the screen, including the British Open.... We love this place, and watching the planes come and go. |

One of our fave places! We like the atmosphere and watching the planes and the food is very good too. Service can be slow sometimes but it's not a place we go to when in a rush. |

I saw a post on Flagler Online which baffled me. If Ms. Clark is a local, then she should know that at Highjackers, all servers wait on all tables. If I am seated and given menus by Ginger, it may be that Ashley takes our order, and Brittany runs the food. It is a warm, relaxed, easy going restaurant. I am familiar with and am fond of all of the servers for this reason.
Perhaps if one is looking for a more formal restaurant experience, then they should NOT go to a casual restaurant. There is an outdoor play area for children, where families can watch planes takes off and land. The patrons interact with each others tables in a friendly, upbeat way. There is often live music. It is also a favorite spot for locals to have Fan Club meetings, or birthday parties. You go there to eat to get good food and to unwind. I have NEVER had a negative experience there. Be it the food, or the servers. They all work so hard there, and it is a wonderful place to have dinner. |

I have been to High Jackers for lunch many times. Friday evening, my husband and I were on our way home and decided to stop in for a "nosh". It was about 8 pm but not crowded at all. We sat ourselves (as you do at HJ) the waitress, Brittany, came to our table and asked "what do you guys want to drink"? We each wanted a bottled beer. She gave us menus and left. When she returned with our beer, she did not take our food order, but instead took two other table's orders (both of which arrived after my husband and I) Brittany finally did come back to take our order. That was the last Brittany came to our table. Another server brought our food out. We had no silverware or water, she got it for us. After eating, we sat for 15 minutes with dirty dishes, until the busboy took them away. 15 minutes later, we still did not have our check. I went to the register to pay. Brittany was behind the bar socializing with the folks sitting there. After, she gave a little boy (I think an employee's child) for a piggy back ride around the rest. When I got my check at the register, I paid it. Brittany passed by and said "have a good night, guys".
Brittany was rude, disrespectful, and totally unprofessional. I am a paying customer, please do not call me "guys" or "lady" as you did to the woman behind me. And, yes, my TIP is for your service. I HOPE you had to split that dollar with the cook, the busboy, the bartender, and the other server that brought my food as well as gave me my check! They were more friendly and attentive, I wish I could have tipped them and not you. Brittany NEVER came by, nor did anyone else, to ask if everything was OK or if we needed anything.
I am a local, and I will never go back to High Jackers or recommend anyone there. |

Cool place to sit and watch the planes and enjoy good food. Service can be sluggish at times but food is always good with a nice variety. The atmosphere is unique and the kids love it. Prices good. |

Visiting from out of town and staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. High Jackers is right down the road. I was in there last night, what a deal $1.50 bottle beer, crab cheese dip and wings were great. The staff was very friendly and looked like they were having fun. The bartender was very nice and took the time to make feel at home. I am here for several weeks and I will be there many time in between but for sure next Thursday for their beers. |

I have been to High Jackers 6 or 7 times the food has always been pretty consistent, typical pub food with a few items on the menu better than average. The atmosphere is what kept us coming back, the casual dinning with a playground for the children is a wonderful break for most parents who usually have to get the check as soon as the kids are done eating. So when my family asked where I would like to have diner on Mothers day it was a no brainer, I didn't have to cook and my kids could play while my husband and I enjoy the beautiful weather. As a Mom you would expect at least mediocre service on Mothers day, boy was I wrong! The service was absolutely appalling, we waited for 20 minutes just for a soft drink, then when our food finally came out, not by our waiter, the servers disappeared almost before the plates hit the table, so by the time we were able to obtain silverware and other missing condiments our food was cold. Still I was not going to let this ruin my Mothers day so we decided to have a pina colada after dinner to relax while the kids played. My drink was ordered but never came out. By the time we caught the waiter we had been sitting in front of dirty dishes for 30 minutes and I just wanted to go home, our check was wrong but rather wasting one more minute of my day in this place we just paid it. On our way out my seven year old daughter watching her sister eat the cookies that came with her children's meal said she did not get any cookies. I told her we will just get some on the way out. When I asked a waiter who was standing by the kitchen for some he forwarded my request to the cook who proceeded to throw the cookies at him while rudely saying "sure they weren't with the kids meal!"
I will never spend another dime at an establishment that treats their customers this way. Such a shame, as a local REALTOR I used to recommend this restaurant to new comers all the time. |

This place really must like families. The little playground and great view of the runway was perfect to distract my son and nephew while the grownups finished our meal and conversation. Beverages were really huge and kept coming without request. The food was prepared perfectly and came out in no time. I think anytime my sister visits we'll make this a regular place to eat. |

Out for another long motorcycle ride today ...Hi-Jacker's for lunch! Awesome as usual... Kathy had the bruchetta burger and ate the whole thing. I had the Cuban-reuben which I could barely finish, and those home made chips are simply the best! Wonderful staff. Love the locally owned eateries here! |

Great place for lunch or dinner after a long day riding the motorcycle out in the country... great staff ... great atmosphere... and if they say they close at 10 that means by 9:30 they are wrapping things up. I deal with that at my work too. You just get ready to close...you can picture yourself locking the door and going home to relax and boom... Mr.& Mrs. John Q. Public show up thinking that you will stay open forever because the lights are still on...what would they think if we showed up at there work and made them stay past the time they had planned to go home? This is in defense of the staff at Hijackers, it is MY opinion ... so folks have a heart and if they stay open late for you! TIP BIG! |
