Overview of Palm Harbor BBQ Grill:
Not to be confused with typical American-style BBQ, this restaurant serves BBQ with a Portuguese twist offering a range of interesting chicken, pork, beef and fish dishes.

I stopped by to try the bar-b-q one night that I had some free time, and it wasn't what I expected. I tried the BBQ chicken and ribs; both came out dry, and the chicken was salty. The service was inattentive and seemed to just want to get our order over with and get us out. The environment there seemed to make you feel as if you had no privacy, being it felt like you were "in a big box", as a friend of mine described. Needless to say, I wont return. |

I have to be honest, I am vegetarian and the idea of a Bar-B-Q place does not get my mouth watering at all. But, my husband, a true blue carnivore, absolutely loves this place and has made this his new favorite take out spot for lunch.
Previously, he picked up food from a place west on Palm Coast Parkway and looking at, and smelling, their food made my stomach turn. But I will admit, that the fare coming out of Palm Harbor BBQ actually looks & smells better/healthier than any take out food he has ever brought home. The portions are tremendously generous as well.
He raves on about how well done & tasty the meat is. He seems to really enjoy the roasted chicken.
Judging by the lines of people waiting to get in I would guess that Palm Harbor BBQ will quickly become a crowd pleaser- especially among construction crews and local carnivores! |

I've had the pork ribs, beans, rice, grilled snapper (a special), flan, wine, espresso, vegetables and bread. All of them excellent and distinctively ethnic. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service friendly and competent.
On Sunday they were filled up with people waiting to get in, so pick your time and day to avoid the crowd.
I will definitely be going back. |

We really enjoyed the food. After living in Rio for 5 years we like this type of food. After ordering Picadinho with shrimp and sausage which comes with black beans or fries and rice, we found out that they have "feijoada" as a special every Saturday. Our serving was so large that we brought home enough for tomorrow plus they gave us another box of feijoada to bring home to try. Will be returning soon! |

This is quite interesting BBQ. It's probably not the typical BBQ you are mist likely used to, but it's quite good. I had a BBQ chicken called Franco Churasco (sp?) and my wife had shish kebabs. Both came with rice and beans. For desert we split a passion fruit flan which was excellent. |
