State Street Grill -
Bunnell, Florida
State Street Grill, as it is called today, came into this world as the landmark "Bunnell Diner". Built in the 1930s, it has served the Town of Bunnell and the weary travelers of US 1 for many years as a welcoming stop along the highway and a bastion of home cooked food. This historic building, originally a small sparse "kitchen and counter" eater, has expanded inch by inch but still maintaining the original counter service. In the 1970s, a full dining room was added to the already homey town diner and the kitchen was expanded and updated.
State Street Grill has seen many proprietors throughout its colorful history until Barbara and Joe Bonasia purchased it in October 2004. Both New Yorkers, Joe and Barbara, met and fell in love and married right here in Flagler County. They have lovingly restored State Street Grill while maintaining that "Welcome Home" feel. That same love is used in every aspect of the restaurant from the purchase of fresh quality foods, to the preparation, to the way it is delivered by friendly servers to your table.
"We welcome you to our restaurant as we would welcome you to our home. Please come in and get comfortable. We prepare everything individually, from scratch, especially for you. Relax, eat and enjoy!"
Your hosts,
Barbara and Joe
