The bagels are good, but the high prices keep this place from getting 5 stars. Also, it'd be nice to be able to get some warmer fresher tasting bagels at 10-11am, than those that seem like they have been out for several hours.
Also, I can't wait until winter time comes, because they are going to have the LARGEST bagels you have ever seen. At least they should, since they have the SMALLEST right now and blame that on heat and humidity. |

I have been to Strathmore's 3 times now. While the food was tasty the prices are excessive for lunch. As for the service the owner is always quite pleasant as are the folks behind the counter. I have yet to have attentive, kind service from either of the 2 different waitresses I have had. They are abrupt and act as if I am a minor annoyance to them. I'm so sorry but I won't be back and was truly looking forward to having an authentic deli in Palm Coast. |

Overall the quality of most products to go and in the restaurant are very good, and this is the only place in the area to get this type of food.
We eat breakfast there every week and the food and service is very good, and the breakfast specials are also a good value, ie, eggs, home fries, bagel or bialy, and coffee or tea for $4.50.
Their sandwiches, corned beef and pastrami, are very tasty, the rye bread is so so, but the portion for almost $9 is very little meat.
My biggest complaint which is a major negative when talking about the quality of the food, thus a very good rating not excellent, is this is the place to go if you want day or more old rolls and breads to go! The staff when asked will admit that most of the time when asked the rolls, Kaiser, have been made the day before, as is the case for the rye breads, and challah, kept in plastic bags. If you want to sell day old breads and rolls put a sign out to let everyone know they are paying full price for day or older breads.
Fortunately so far the bagels are made fresh daily, even though on a regular basis the size on many seems to have shrunk. I can't speak to the baked goods as I rarely buy them.
Please change your practices on the breads and rolls so I can purchase them fresh the same day or at a discount like all other bakeries if I so choose.
Establishment Rebuttal to Above Review
In response to “Loyal but Dismayed Customer” why would a customer continue to come into a business that gives supposedly small quantities and sells stale baked products?
If you have a problem and come in every week why haven’t I heard about your complaints?
My wife and I are always there and appreciate customer feedback and work hard to make things right. The fact that you have chosen not to speak with us and post a derogatory review leads me to believe you are posting under the guise of a loyal customer but have an non-constructive agenda.
It’s a shame that I feel it necessary to defend my business but considering your gross misrepresentations I must do so.
My baked goods are baked fresh everyday, in fact we bake anywhere from 7 to 10 rye breads a day that are sliced daily (right in front of the public). We would never serve day old anything, we pride ourselves on excellent quality control and fresh products. So, wherever or whoever “Loyal but Dismayed Customer” is getting information, he/she is totally misinformed. As per our bagels, they too are made fresh throughout the day. The weight of all the bagels are the same however, the size is based on the proofing process. Temperature and humidity can affect the size, which in Florida; will vary at various times of the year. At the end of the day the left over bagels are made into bagel chips and donated to churches and food pantries.
As per the meat on our sandwiches, each sandwich is weighed out to 7 oz (almost a half pound of meat). We pride ourselves on giving large portions of fresh, quality foods. An overwhelming majority of our customers comment about our enormous portions and walk out with a box for another meal.
I once again request that “Loyal but Dismayed Customer” come in and speak with my wife or myself regarding her/his issues. Our goals are that every customer whether dining in or take-out, have an excellent experience.

Strathmore Deli is our Saturday morning breakfast site. While we enjoy the food and service, this review primarily commends our favorite waitress, FRANCINE. In addition to providing excellent service, her hospitality and personality are exemplary. There's not been a time when she has not been pleasant. She makes our morning. Way to go Francine and kudos to the owners for hiring her. |

I love this place. We go all the time and the food is always fantastic. They treat my toddler great. She loves the food as well. When ever we have friends in town we take them here. Today we ordered the food for delivery. I am so excited that we have a place that delivers something other than pizza! The owner are great as well. |

I love the food in this place. The portions are huge; enough for 2 meals, the service is professional and the kettle boiled bagels are exactly how a bagel should be, crispy on the outside. The Flagels are my favorite, less dough inside. The menu is so large there is something for everyone in all different price ranges. I love homemade soups and the chicken Matzo Ball and Lobster Bisque are awesome!
On Sunday there was a large group of us and we all ate different things, tasting each others breakfasts and lunches. Everything was great but the Challah French Toast with Almonds and Granola was fantastic. Corned beef used to be my favorite but the French Toast is up there as well. The waitress serving us, Jenell was very accommodating and efficient and was not flustered at all with a large, noisy bunch of demanding customers. The owners came by several times to make sure everything was okay and spent awhile chatting with us. They went around to every table and it appears they really care that their patrons have a good experience.
I'm happy there are more varieties of dining in Palm Coast and the best part for me is that they deliver! |

I agree with MB, the bagels were excellent when Strathmore opened but there has been a sharp decline in quality... chewy and undercooked. We stopped in for lunch one day and the food was average and pricey. If you've ever had a fantastic pastrami sandwich in NYC, keep that memory because you won't find one here. Modest portions, high prices. The staff behind the bagel counter was friendly when the place first opened, a lot less so now. The owner makes a show of walking around and smiling but he doesn't seem to be taking care of business. |

Almost $10.00 for a tuna sandwich on a bagel. It's good but not worth it when you have alternatives for half the price! |

I absolutely love the food, service and attitude of this restaurant. I have never had a meal that wasn't fresh and tasty and the portions are huge, one certainly gets their money's worth. It's been years since I've had a real water boiled bagel and a genuine egg cream soda.It is a true delicatessen. I'm a Reuben man and it's better than any I've had up north. |

The bagels were great when they first opened, but they just don't taste the same. Maybe they changed bakers but the bagels are not as good as they were. Found somewhere else for a great bagel at a better price. |

Great restaurant, great food. Very responsive owners. If the prior terrible review got your attention, take a look in the Flagler Forum where the owners replied within just over an hour with their apology and how they solved the problem. The ladies in question came back and received complimentary meals, the hostess is no longer there, and so on. I'll go back. In fact, I'll go back often! I'll take friends! I'll tell more friends. We'll have meetings there. Love their chopped liver and Sloppy Joe wraps too.

I was in Strathmore's last Sunday morning and couldn't believe what I witnessed. A customer had just been seated and served coffee at a small table. She explained to the waitress that someone would be joining her in just a moment. The hostess came over to her table and starts barking at her to "get up because they don't hold tables for customers" you could tell the lady at the table was embarrassed she said "I'm not asking you to hold this table, I'm here and my friend will be here any minute. We left church at the same time, she is probably parking her car right now." But the hostess wasn't giving up and then said in a very nasty tone" Do I need to get the manager" and wouldn't you know it this poor woman now had the hostess and the manager hovering over and telling her to "get up". I just couldn't believe how rude and nasty they were being to her not to mention the scene they were causing.
The lady left the restaurant embarrassed, as anyone would be. ONE minutes later her friend walked in and the Hostess tore into her, all she did was ask if her friend was there. To top it all off that Hostess (in what seems to be her naturally rude demeanor ) told everyone who was waiting for a table to get outside and wait there. I will NEVER go back there I don't care how good their bagels are. The Hostess AND Manager should be ashamed of themselves! |

Hubby & I went on 2.23.08 for lunch & absolutely LOVED IT. It was a little bit on the pricey side but worth it. They have the BEST Liver pâté I have EVER tasted. Service was wonderful & friendly. Hope they stay around for a long time. Good Luck to the owners! |

I've had lunch at Strathmore Bagels several times and have never had anything but an outstanding meal. I've tried something different each time and have gone home raving about my choice. My husband could have gone anywhere for lunch on his birthday but chose Strathmore Bagels. He had a corned beef and pastrami combo on rye and said it was the best he's had in years! My absolute favorite is the chopped chicken livers - the best I've had in years! The coffee is great, the pickles are great, the cucumber salad is to die for and the bagels are the real thing. The carrot cake is also fabulous. For years we had hoped a good deli would open in Palm Coast and we got more than we hoped for - thank you Strathmore Bagels. |

Can't say anything bad about the food served at breakfast or lunch. Service is great and friendly and the owner comes around to ask how everything is and actually seems to enjoy his customers. The coffee is okay (believe it or not we prefer McDonald's and/or Starbucks) but the food and service make up for anything the coffee lacks. We were hoping to see a Panera Bakery open; however, this new restaurant will continue to be one of our favorites.. |

My family and I went for lunch - everything was delicious! The service was terrific. We got seated right away & our orders promptly taken by a very friendly server. The restroom was very clean. The only thing I wish was better is the parking situation. Maybe one day they will relocate where the parking spaces aren't so limited. |

I happen to really like the coffee. It is rich and aromatic. Ocean Hammock uses the same system and I've always enjoyed their coffee. In fact, I like everything Strathmore has brought to Palm Coast. Great food with many things you can't get anywhere else, wonderful service and caring owners that want to please their clientele. These people bend over backwards to make everything right and I have to give them a lot of credit.
They take suggestions and go out of their way to make us happy. They have been open such a short time and have such a huge menu it amazes me that the waitresses and counter people are as together as they are. This is the BEST breakfast and lunch place in Palm Coast! I wish them well! |

So, I took my son for breakfast this morning. We each had a bagel and we split an order of potato pancakes. The service was friendly and excellent. The hostess, Millie, was friendly and fun to talk to - she shared some great stories with us. We had two waitresses and both were attentive and prompt. The bagels were EXCELLENT and the Potato Pancakes are unmatched anyplace else I've had them in Florida.
It is a little pricey- just under $20 for the two of us but well worth it for the atmosphere, service and family feel of the place. The only complaint I have is that the coffee isn't very good- they use a liquid coffee system that is marketed as comparable to brewed but it's not even close. It's lacking the aroma and full flavor of real brewed coffee.
I think an establishment that is primarily breakfast can't afford to have bad coffee and I even noticed some folks who dined in brought in Dunkin Donuts coffee. We will be back! |

We have had the pleasure of dinning in and taking out. Our server was Michelle and she was funny and sweet and kept everything in order. Ashley and Kayla helped us at the counter. They answered every question we asked and were smiling and sweet. I will definitely come again and bring my mom and dad. |

What a wonderful new addition to our town. The new restaurant and deli are absolutely awesome. All the food is made friendly and the staff go out of their way to do ANYTHING to please you and make the food anyway you want it,even if it isn't listed that way on the menu. Our server Elise. was excellent. she was fast efficient and so friendly. It was also nice for once to hear a waitress so happy about her job and even told us what wonderful people the owners and managers have been, who all by the way stopped by to say hi and make sure everything was OK.This place serves traditional Jewish deli right down to the pickle and kraut tray on the table for lunch. This is going to become the place for breakfast and lunch in Palm Coast, forget all that generic crap at Bob Evans.Perkins, and Denny's which have all gone downhill fast. Enjoy! |

My husband and I went there Sunday which was their third day open. It was very busy but we were lucky to be seated right away. My husband had an omelets with a pumpernickel bagel, home fries and a corn bread muffin. I don't know where he put it all. I had cheese blintzes that were very good. They aren't huge so I was able to eat them all. Everyone from the owner to the bus boys were very nice. If you want to sample one of their many cream cheeses or salads they'll be glad to let you try whatever you want. A lot of time was spent redoing the place and it's very attractive. We'll definitely go back and bring some of their wonderful bagels home. |
