Health food this is NOT. More like the ultimate comfort food. Paula Dean would like it Y'all. The baked apple dessert is so good that you just know you are gonna pay for it later. I have never had a bad plate of food when I dine in. I had take out the other day and got a redneck special (Tomato, beans and onions on a bed of rice) First of all it took 35 minutes to get my food, I am NOT exaggerating, I waited outside on my phone and checked the time. I figured what I ordered wouldn't take long.. but after tasting my meal I realized that they must have put the old rice (hard as a rock) on the bottom and then said.. oops we need to make more, but didn't bother taking the day old rice out of my container. It totally ruined my delish meal., I had to throw the bulk of it away so I didn't chip a tooth. I will go back to the pantry to dine in if friends suggest going.. but never take. |

Strange...don't know exactly why, but not our choice for another meal. The food was tasty, service pretty good and the place was packed, but still...something was amiss. Not certain. |

Sorry, but this place is just not my thing! Food is flat and flavorless albeit plentiful. The place was packed so I guess it's to many peoples liking though. |

A neighbor recommended the Chicken Pantry for traditional local cooking, but unfortunately, it just wasn't what we expected. This is probably best described as Southern style country cooking. You can smell the grease as soon as you enter its small dining area. The food is heavy and over cooked. If you like this type of food, it is plentiful and inexpensive. But traditional local food it is not. |

This is a very unhealthy restaurant and not for anyone careful about what they put in their bodies. Basically, it's over fried, over boiled and over seasoned southern food. If you're not concerned about healthier food and this is your thing then you would probably love the Chicken Pantry. Otherwise, there are better alternatives. |

This is nothing more than a greasy spoon. It offers free for all seating and a chalked menu. If you like this type of heart clogging food than eat away. For me, this is not good enough food to risk health for as it's either overcooked or over fried. If you're looking for inexpensive down-home style cooking, you'll find it here. Give my regards to your cardiologist! |

We love this place! The fried chicken and fried pork chops are amazing, the specials are usually truly special and the blueberry pie is the best ever. The atmosphere is friendly as are the staff and other customers. It's like having a meal with a group of friends. |

Wow! This place will replace any all of my Cracker Barrel cravings for sure! The fried chicken is a 15-20 minute wait but boy is it gooooood!!! Loved the country sides! We will definitely be regulars here. |

This restaurant is the best value around! I am a regular and the wait staff and management treat me like family. Whenever I don't feel like cooking I head to the Chicken Pantry. By the way, they changed owners recently so the bad review at the bottom doesn't refer to the new and improved Chicken Pantry! |

My husband & I visited this restaurant last week. We truly enjoyed our dinner and we had the pot roast for $7.00 which came with roasted potatoes and carrots. The meat was so tender it melted in our mouth. The waitress suggested dessert saying they were all made at the restaurant. I had the banana cream pie which was huge and delicious my husband had the mile high strawberry shortcake, which was a mile high. Seems like all the locals go there as everyone seemed to know each other. Conversation between all the tables only added to its southern flare. We will go back. |

This is THE BEST southern restaurant ever! The fried chicken has no competition. KFC comes nowhere near it. If you want good food to fill your stomachs, then come to the Chicken Pantry. |

WOW!!! It was just what I had been looking for here for over 8 years!! Home cooking.....great food and great prices....Real mashed potatoes, and a great menu.....the best fried chicken I have ever had. The fried eggplant is to die for. Home made cornbread. They have different specials every night and priced at only about $6.50....including things like turkey with stuffing, swiss steak, catfish, corned beef and cabbage..... Great home cooking. |

No place have better chicken than this restaurant. Friendly service. Not a fancy place but friendly and good food Southern style. They will know you by name after 5 minutes there. Southern Hospitality is a true place for this restaurant. It's not a smoking place. You must go out side to smoke. |

Best Fried Chicken around. We even pass a KFC when we go to the Chicken Pantry. Veggies are home cooked and not from a can. I like the boiled cabbage and yes the green bean are cooked "southern" style. Sure it is a hole-in-the-wall but they make for the best eating. Price is right. Plus they even have sweet tea (those of us from the South appreciate that), unlike many resturants in Central Florida. The service is great - they work their fannies off (no standing around). We drive all the way from Ormond Beach atleast once a month to eat there.
Bottom line: Do you go out for the food or ambience? I go for the food; can't eat ambience. |

Friendly down home cooking. Not a place to eat if you are interested in staying in good health. Why? Food, including veggies, were over cooked and greasy. The place is full of cigarette smoke and servers are permitted to take a puff and exhale while delivering your food. Been there twice but I always try a place at least two times. |

Good down-home cooking. This Southern style 'hole-in-the-wall' restaurant offers home cooked meals at very reasonable prices. Don't expect gourmet cuisine, just good 'ole cookin' for good 'ole boys. Friendly, clean, fast service and inexpensive. |
