Worst Perkins I have been to. Ate there this week. Ordered the sirloin steak for myself and my son. His was OK, a bit tough as expected. But mine was unreal. I could squish it with my fork and spread it with my knife like pate! What could make meat get like this?? It disintegrated in my mouth like sand. The manager got me another steak, supposed to be medium, but was very rare. I ate the edges and the fresh potato I asked for. They gave us free desserts. At the table next to us, the man sent back his eggs as undercooked. The woman asked for a sticky bun (all out), cinnamon roll (all out) and finally got a muffin. I heard a customer tell the manager that the ladies room was a big mess (was OK by the time I got there). The waiter never refilled our water. I ate there with a companion a couple of weeks ago, had the fish and chips early bird special. All was very greasy. I don't think I'll be back.

Absolutely disgusting! Never Again. I have never been a fan of the Palm Coast Perkins, but my family enjoys going for breakfast during dinner once in a while. This past evening we went only to find the restaurant to be at its all time worst! Only six tables were occupied, but all the empty ones still had dirty dishes, empty glasses, used napkins and garbage all around them. No one was busing tables or setting them up. The floors looked like they hadn't been swept or vacuumed in days. The menus had stuck on food in between the pages. The tabletops were sticky and not set up. The servers ignored us until I glared one down. The restrooms were unusable. My youngest left the men's room because it was so nasty and asked me to take him in the women's. We could not use any of the overflowing stalls and had to leave because of the smell. The garbage can in the foyer area of the restrooms was overflowing into the dining room. The front entrance tile area was filthy. The food was the worst part of the whole experience.
How can a restaurant operate under these conditions? Their menu prices should easily cover the cost of a VACUUM and Windex! As for the Manager on Duty, Jennifer, shame on you for allowing these type of conditions. As I mentioned to her, there were ample staff standing around the cash register, including her that could have cleaned the place up. Even after I mentioned some of the disgusting items listed above, she still did not have anyone clean up and all she had to say was, "I'm sorry you had a bad experience." ME TOO! |

Visited on 9/26/08, party of two. We both ordered the prime rib special available on Friday night. It was truly excellent and done just the way we ordered and as tender as it could be. A great meal for the price plus a 20% discount from the newspaper. Couldn't ask for more. |

Have been going to Perkins regularly since moving to Palm Coast 6 years ago, food always good and cooked they way I ordered, muffins are great, pie crust not so good, éclairs are big enough to share! The French fries are great,I ask for honey mustard to dunk them instead of catsup and am not charged extra for it as in other eateries. The only reason I haven't been there these past several weeks is that when last there, there was an awful odor, the carpets smelled like a wet, greasy dog... I will call ahead to make sure they have been cleaned before going again. The service has always been fine & friendly and I have been taken care of at the register quickly. |

For us, Perkins is strictly for breakfast, which is excellent. SUPERB pancakes, terrific breakfast potatoes, a great omelet for my wife who is picky about her omelets, a pot of good coffee, prompt and usually friendly service...happiness. Less so at night, which was only one visit for us. Which is understandable; from their website, Perkins began as a mom-and-pop pancake house in Ohio 50 years ago. And I don't know why they are so reluctant to take your money, other than whoever is working the cash register might be doing extra duty in the kitchen. I could have walked out and nobody would have noticed. If you are honest and play the trumpet bring it with you blow it at the checkout counter to facilitate departure. |

I would of given this restaurant 4 stars but 2 were lost for the bad attitude of its server. As a family of four we ate dinner at Perkins and the server was rude, belittling and inefficient. I can only imagine that she did not enjoy her job and took it out on the customers. The food was actually quite good but it was "soured" by this server's attitude. |

I agree with not being able to pay my bill when it is time to go. See some very friendly smiles and have been there for many years. I can't say the same about the night shift, though. They really don't have it together during those hours. |

We go to Perkins every Saturday for breakfast and it's consistently good. Service is friendly and the food always arrived hot and fresh. My only complaint is that it can be a little hard to check out at times as no one is around to take your money. |

Had dinner at Perkins Friday night, Dec 9th, about 6 p.m. Place looked neat and clean, including both restrooms. Server was attentive, orders placed and served very timely. Both meals correct, hot and presentable. Place has come a long way since we visited last, about one year ago, when everything mentioned above was in the negative. Whoever is managing this restaurant now, keep up the good work. (I also reviewed this restaurant on Florida's DBPR website for history of State Inspections. Perkins had high marks in all categories. This State Inspection review, along with Flagleronline review, are my primary decision makers for patronizing restaurants.) |

We visited yesterday for breakfast prior to viewing the holiday parade, and although our server was excellent and the food very good, the profanity coming from staff in the kitchen was atrocious. This is completely unacceptable for a family restaurant and not something I wish to hear at breakfast with my family. 5 stars for food and service, 1 star for professionalism. |

Perkins is the only place in this town we go for breakfast. My wife hates the name but loves "Grandma's Omelet," and she is picky about omelets. I order whatever includes the pancakes, which are consistently delicious, as are the eggs, ham, sausages. The coffee is served in an insulated pot, which means it stays hot and you do not have to break your neck trying to find a waiter/waitress to refill your cup. Service good to excellent, friendly and on the ball. I should note that we arrive before 10am and order off the breakfast menu. That may make a difference as we tried this Perkins later on one morning and the results were not as good. |

My wife had a craving, Perkins. We'd not been in months, but Perkins it was. She ordered the breakfast with a side of "fruit salad", I ordered the only "biscuits and gravy" meal on the menu. My wife is allergic to pineapple and asked if the fruit salad could be served without it, understanding that most places serve canned. We were told that we would be accommodated and waited patiently for our meals.
Our meals arrived and the waitress informed me that there was no gravy, could she offer me some butter or jam. No gravy??? I ordered the only "Biscuits and Gravy" on the menu....
My wife then placed her fork into the fruit salad, and discovered that "no pineapple" to some, may describe pulling the pineapple out of canned fruit salad. Of course, had she trusted the server she would have broken out in hives.
I did not complain, but I will never dine at a Perkins restaurant ever again. |

Wrong choice to stop by early this evening. The cod dinner was absolutely horrible! I left most of it on my plate. The manager gave me a $5.00 credit; most restaurants would have taken off the whole meal. The waiter's service was okay. An older lady wearing a brown apron obviously worked in the kitchen but was in the lobby trying to get stuffed animals out of the machine. This was totally unprofessional! She had another employee go back into the kitchen to get a broom so that she could unclog the animals. I know that she was able to scoop out at least one stuffed animal with the broomstick. It was obvious that she was addicted to this seemingly everyday activity. I will NEVER return until this Perkins changes management. I agree with others that it should close. |

I won't be back - that's for sure. There were two tables filled when we went - a little after dinner rush. Service was top notch at first and our server was headed for a nice sized tip until a large group of people (for that time of night it was large - about 8 people) came in and were seated right next to us. Then they got top notch service and I had to flag down my waiter when he wasn't busy elbowing me to help the new people or blocking off our only exit to the restroom. I went 20 minutes without a refill on my drink, ,even after I asked for one. My daughter ordered the childs special with a cookie, but they were out of cookies so they offered her a muffin. She picked one and it did not arrive with her meal. We reminded the cook about it when he served us.... but it never showed up. (I also don't think it's right for the cook to serve)
Our waiter disappeared in the back for an extended period of time (I'm patient, but not 20 minutes patient) and I had to ask the manager who walked through the dining area for my drink. We also asked for take-home boxes and the bill.
When the bill and boxes arrived I reminded our waiter AGAIN about my daughters muffin and he went to get it. Oops, they are out of that kind. Picked another, out of that one too. My 6yr old finally settled on Bran. She hates bran.
The manager who took the money when we paid the bill apologized for terrible service but did nothing to compensate for it. THEN he had the nerve to ask if we wanted to leave a tip. Um, how about NO?
To sum up - the service was terrible, ambiance was poor, restaurant was empty but we felt crowded, and we had to wriggle out of the corner we were in so that we could leave. THEN they wanted a tip.
I said it before and I'll say it again, we won't be back. |

Perkins does a great breakfast which seems to be the only time they excel. They offer a wide variety of breakfast items such as Eggs Benedict, omelets, great muffins, plus the usual items. Service is hit or miss depending on who you get or how busy it is though. I am not too fond of their meals any other time of day. |

I can remember when this restaurant opened. I have always been a Perkins fan, but this one is not even close to being in the caliber of edible. I am like many out there that give a place 3 tries before I avoid it like a plague. I have tried this restaurant several times over the last 6 years or so and frankly this is a horrible restaurant. The service was horrendous... The food arghh! We won't even go there and the conditions deplorable. I have heard that they are cleaning it up, but come on... It needs more than that. |

I cant believe this place is still open! They have a cardboard box as a ceiling tile over one of their tables! Very poor management! When I eat there, Very POOR service.. All young kids.. Even the manager. I Found a piece of plastic in my soup! We will NEVER return!!! And we will tell all of our friends, family, etc. |

Ok, I am a very forgiving person. I will give a place 3 tries. This place, chances are gone. First time, service was horrible. I asked the waitress 4 times for a side of glazed carrots, never got them, but she didn't put them on the bill either. Food was horrible. Was not a fan of the French toast my girlfriend got, personally, I thought it was gross, and I LOVE French toast. Second time, service was a little better, minus the fact that I kept having to grab the waitress for a refill, and the food was I guess you can say tolerable. Then the third time did it. It took 10 minutes to get drinks, then we needed more time to order, well we didn't see our waitress for about another 10 minutes, and we had to grab her, then she said she would be right back. 5 minutes later, we order, then 20 minutes later we get our food. The steak I got was ordered medium rare, I would say this was medium BURNT TO A CRISP! So it took 15 minutes to get another, and it was not medium rare. I think they did the slap thing. Slap it on *tick tick tick* flip *fick fick fick* DONE. Had them throw it on again, and then it came back ok. But thereon, service sucked. No way else to describe it. and I ended up eating half the steak because the other half was fat, and the rest of the food was horrible. We walked out. The manager was very rude as well, and said that I was just trying to get a free meal. I pointed out to the parking lot at what I was driving, pulled out the cash I had in my pocket, and said "Does it look I need a free meal?". So we went to steak~N~shake, which has like, magnifico cuisine compared to Perkins. |

When arriving, asked for a booth in the rear to enjoy view of water. Several were vacant. Hostess: "They're busy back there, your service won't be very good." Followed her to booth on side. Great service from wonderful waitress. But: W-W-What? The prices on the specials were right but these were combinations we had no interest in. And they were a bit weird, as if whoever concocted them at corporate had experienced a very bad night (sorry, cannot recall examples). Prices for all else had been upped considerably. I liked my breakfast (egg, hash browns, sausage, two pancakes), wife disliked her omelet. Great pancakes, which I love as a side. Next time will concentrate on larger stack of pancakes to exclusion of all else. I rate this Perkins good, wife in vocal disagreement but I have control of keyboard. |

I am very surprised at the last reviews posted. We go there often and have never had slow service, the food doesn't always arrive in 5 or 10 minutes but it is cooked to order, I would rather wait an extra 10 minutes and have it hot, fresh and the way I asked for it, not sitting in the kitchen waiting to be put on a plate. If I want fast food I'll go to Taco Bell or McDonalds. We know most of the staff by name since they have been there for a while, there are a couple of new faces but the old faces are there also. The manager has done a wonderful job getting the place back in shape since she came back a couple of months ago. For my money the food, service and value is still much better than Bob Evans or Cracker Barrel (I refuse to go to Denny's). |

After several years of being a steady customer,I have decided to move on. The place should be closed down. Let someone else buy it and restore it back to a Family Restaurant that it once was. Food is going downhill. Most of the original staff is gone.Perhaps new management would help. |

I am glad to see Perkins improving again. I don't know what changes were made but I see some new faces and a manager back that wasn't there for awhile. Food and service were great, employees seemed happy and enjoying their jobs. A small problem with my fish not done enough (I like mine well done) but the server had it corrected immediatly. The whole restaurant was cleaner and had a better atmosphere then in past months. |

I HAVE VISITED THIS RESTAURANT FOR 6 YEARS NOW AND AM SAID TO SAY, IT IS GOING DOWNWARDS. YOU HAVE MOLD AND DIRT GROWING FROM THE WALLS AND A STAFF WHO JUST DONT CARE. THE LAST TIME I VISITED MY WIFE RECEIVED A BAD DISH AND ASKED TO TALK TO A MANAGER, A FEW MINUTES LATTER A FEMALE CAME OVER TO THE TABLE AND STARTED TO TELL US WE DONT UNDERSTAND AND THAT WE DONT NOW OUR FOODS, APPAULED BY THIS WE WENT TO PAY, AND AGAIN WE WERE APPAULED TO HEAR THAT SAME MANAGER TALKING TO AN EMPLOYEE BEHIND THE REGISTER ABOUT US. My family was sat in the room in the rear with the doors. It was discussting. Mold and mildew on carpet, walls and ceiling. You could see where on the ceiling the mold was just covered with paint. Its seeping through again. When paying, we looked up and the mold is everywhere. Last visit for my family. |

I don't know what's happened to this place but it has gone down hill a great deal lately! We used to enjoy breakfast or lunch here and the last few times have been worse with each visit. The cleanliness has subsided and there are no more pleasantries from the staff. |

I MUST ADMIT I HAVE BEEN AMAZED AT THE WORKERS AND MANAGEMENT OF PERKINS IN THESE TRYING TIMES. THEY WERE THERE TO SERVE THE PEOPLE WHILE MANY OF THEM HAD SERIOUS PROBLEMS AND NO ELECTRICITY. i was in the restaurant for lunch yesterday 9/7 and wow was it busy. understandably there was a wait but i must say it was nice that the employees went to work under trying circumstances to take care of the public. thank you to the lady with the name tag that said either diane or diana that is general manager. she was doing her best to keep things organized while people were waiting to be seated. she was keeping a cool composure. i don't know how you did it but i can tell you that many people waiting noticed. good management skills. hats off to her! i hope these comments go to a corporate person and not deaf ears. we will be back... |

My girlfriend and I ate at Perkins on the 14th after the hurricane because like most of Palm Coast, we had no power to cook our own food. Only 2 other resteraunts were open that day so of course, they were extreamly busy. When I walked in, the resteraunt was packed.When I approached the hostesses, I asked for a wait time and they gave me "45 minutes to an hour" but I knew it would be like that everywhere so I waited. When I finally was seated about 45 minutes later, my server was very prompt in getting my drink order even though she was extreamly busy. I ordered my food, everything was great. The register line was a bit of a wait, but other than that, they did an excellent job under such pressure. I truly was amazed at how everything ran so smoothly, the communication between the employees was great, the whole resteraunt ran perfect. I can honestly say that I have never seen any resteraunt function with this amout of team work. Amazing job to all the Perkins Employees in Palm Coast! I definatly will be coming back! |

Today my husband and my three children all went to Perkins today for breakfast. They call it a Family Restaurant and it surely is. We were quite suprised when an elderly lady approached our table and gave our three children all school age a gift from Perkins. It was an envelope with a pencil and eraser in it with wishes from Perkins for a good school year. This place is truly a family restaurant. We will keep coming back. thank you

last friday for breakfast i was seated by kitchen. our food was great, server was great but as we sat back after eating we couldn't believe our eyes. we saw, and then watched, a tall thin lady with a pony tail cooking with a tall big fellow wearing a blue shirt reaching into a silver type bowl with their bear hands grabbing pre-cooked bacon and putting it on plates. that kinda ruined our breakfast. i thought everything was cooked fresh to order??? i really think goves would be appropriate. |

I had company from out of town today and brought them to Perkins. Well after a 50 minute wait a lady came and told us they were short a cook who had left. She was very nice and apologetic, but why didnt someone tell us before we waited so long.this lady was seating people, cashiering and talking to the customers. |

I have been a steady customer of Perkins for the last year. I go in everyday for breakfast and feel like I belong there, they have a lady who sometimes walks around and talks to the customers,also sits you and cashiers. She is so pleasant and makes you feel like you belong. i lost my wife 2 years ago and its nice just to have someone make you feel welcome.I guess its possible shes the wife of the owner, but shes great for making one feel comfortable. |

I recently ate at Perkins in Palm Coast and i must say that it was quite the experience. They are under new managment and they have improved dramatically. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt very welcome. The hostess that sat me was very pleasant, had a wonderful, sincere smile and was even a bit humorous ( I believe her name started with a J, she was a beautiful girl none-the-less). Our waitress was named Catherine i believe and was very prompt in taking our drink orders as well as our food order and was very pleasant about it. Our food came out in a timely manner and it was perfect, we had no problems with it at all. The only slight problem we had was with the cashier (I'm not sure if she was a manager or not because she had on a different shirt than the other hostesses, but she seemed a bit young to be a manager), she seemed to have an attitude and rolled her eyes when I asked for a to go box. But other than her, I had a spectacular experience at Perkins... Keep up the good work! |

I have eaten there about 6 times. The service is VERY SLOW! I have waited up to 45 for my meal! Ther servers are nice. The food is fair. One occasion my french toast was NOT cooked inside and got the meal for free. The last time some how the waiter was serving my food and he accidently left a DIRTY knife in my meal!!!! It was gross. I also, got that meal for free. All and all the service is WAYYYYYYYY to slow |

iwas at a table next to a table of 4 that asked for a manager. this young man [his name was initials but i'm not sure what they were] came over and he was very polite and told them he would check. a couple of minutes later he returned with some kind of paper and advised the people it was 15 minutes and the food would be coming out in just a few minutes. the point is i couldnt figure out why you would go to a restaurant that cooks food to order when your in a hurry. i think the food is good as i go there often. a couple of times it was extremly busy and my food was not quite as hot as i like, but there was never a problem to get it rectified. |

I have to agree with Nette about this Perkins cleanliness problems. My wife and I notice it getting worse with each visit. Food and service are good, but if the customer areas are dirty I wonder what the kitchens are like! |

The wait staff is very good. The food was so-so nothing to brag about but the hygiene of the place was gross!! We got a window seat and there was all kinds of food on the walls and window blinds. They need to clean the place more often!!! |

We've tried eating here several times and each time has been a disaster and we wonder why we bothered. Service has always been poor. Food is always greasy and cold. On one occasion we left after waiting 45 minutes for food and not one visit from our server, we complained and the night manager di nothing. We were shocked by the sub-standard customer service and attitude and complained to corporate Perkins. Never heard a word back from anyone. I will never patronzie Perkins again. |

Same as Denny's on my reveiw, may have good food, but the restaruant was smelly. And the floor was dirty, foods was all over the carpet. The servers was only know how to take order and bring order without any service at all. |

I understand the female manager has 2 daughters working there. One is very young, thin, short hair and she seats people. This family should take a bath, iron their clothes and SMILE instead of acting like they are doing you a favor.
The tables are not always clean when you sit down. Staff needs to reach further to get all the dirt.
The carpets need cleaning.
Breakfast is the best meal they serve. And the morning weekday staff is excellent as well. |

Good all around diner for any meal. Nice variety of menu items and food always consistent. My only complaint is the attitude of young staff sometimes. The servers are always good but the ones that seat you often do so as if it's a bother for them. |

Went again for breakfast on Saturday morning. The service was EXCELLENT and polite. Our breakfasts were done to perfection. Hubby had an omelett with pancacakes, I had the Eggs Benedict. I always take my muffin home with me. The food came out in a timely manner, was delicious and hot. We were not rushed out the door.
Overall an anjoyable experience.

My friend and I had breakfast here and it was excellent. The service was fine, the food was fine, the price was reasonable, the place was clean. I had corned beef hash, my friend had the bacon and eggs, we both enjoyed it a lot. Then we split a blueberry giant muffin with our coffee, and that put the lid on it. What a way to start the day! |

Went to Perkins for breakfast yesterday. Was greated and seated by the General Manager. He promptly got us our drinks. The place was packed. I had eggs benedict (which is the norm for me) They were done perfectly and the hasbrowns were good. the Blueberry muffin came home with me and it was great.

Went to Perkins tonight. Got seated right away. Wait staff was polite. I had Eggs Benedict which was good. It is generally good. Hash Browns were cooked very good tonight. Cooked enough but not burnt. This meal comes with a muffin. I always get Blueberry and they are to die for. I Brought it home and it will be my breakfast in the morning.

Went to Perkins the other night for Dinner, had a Patty Melt, the hubby had a Cheesy Ham and Bacon Melt. He also had Chicken Noodle soup which he thought was excellent. My sandwhich was great. I had onion rings with mine and they were good. The service was polite and refills on drinks were never a problem.

I'm disappointed with the teenage staff too. The food is good but we always receive miserable service and attitude from the teenage girls who sit us. They make our experience far less enjoyable. They obviously do not enjoy being there. |

My wife and I eat here often for lunch. The food is always consistently good, but the service tends to fluctuate. Our lunch is great when we get a good server, other times it's very disappointing due to bad service. I also like to be seated by a smiling and welcoming person, however we nearly always seem to be seated by this young gum chewing girl wreaking with attitude. |

The food prep is uneven. Sometimes good sometimes not and you have to send it back. Inconsistent service and food prep is NOT a sign of a good restaurant. Also the bathrooms and carpets and filthy and need a heavy duty cleaning.!
The woman manager seems to resent her staff and goes out of her way to berate them. Perhaps she's the problem? |

The teenage girl who seated us popped her gum in our faces which appauled me. She was also very "mooody". The food was very good though and they have a good broad selection of items on the menu. For the food, I rated this 4/5, for the girl who seated us... that was very unprofessional and not the attitude for someone in your position. |

I went to Perkins this very morning 10-5-02. Tina was our server and I have to say, I WAS IMPRESSED! Hats off to the new management, you have done a fabulous job.
The Manager was polite to everyone. There wasn't one table that needed to be cleaned off, it was all done. Hubby never EVER had to wait for a refill on his drink. I drink coffee and one of the things I like best about Perkins is they leave the the coffee on the table.
Again, Congratulations on getting your act together.

Like the others have said on here, Perkins has improved greatly. My first visits a couple of years ago were not good experiences, but I tried it again recently and was pleasantly suprised. For a family diner style restaurant the menu is diverse and we had good service. I hope it maintains this quality this time. |

When we first moved here a couple of years ago we had breakfast here and it was a terrible experience. We later visited a few months ago and have been regulars since. It was far better and we enjoy their breakfasts and lunches. Good value and pleasant service. |

I wish everyone who has given Perkins a bad review in the past, would give them another chance. I did and I'm so glad I did! The improvement is amazing! They have new management and a new head cook, and they really care about food presentation and taste. Also, very good service. The whole staff is to be commended. |

Ate here for lunch today and like previous posts, I too realized a big difference from visits a year or more ago. I had a Cajun Grilled Chicken Bread Bowl Salad that was plentiful and fresh. Nice to be able to eat the bowl after too! There was a busy lunch crowd but the server and kitchen seemed to keep up well. |

Recently i've gone to Perkins a few times and must say that the new managers have changed things alot. Its much more pleasant to eat there and they seem to be turning that place around. Keep it up. |

I have visited other Perkins in the state of Florida, but I've never been to one like the Perkins in Palm Coast. The food itself is nothing spectacular and the service is less than ideal here. They are way too understaffed to stay open. The managers need to get off their high horse and help the servers out when things get busy. When I visited, there were two servers on the floor and a dining room full of guests. While the servers were running around the floor trying to please their customers, the two managers were simply sitting at a table of their own, laughing and doing nothing to help their employees. And when I questioned the General Manager, Carolyn Vician, she was extremely rude and had such an attitude, like I didn't have a right to complain when their business was being run like that. No wonder this place has such a bad rap in town. I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone. |

We went back a 2nd time to give them the benefit of the doubt. Same thing, could not get waited on. We live here and lots of time to wait. Finally did get served but we did see other people get up and leave. I felt sorry for people who appeared to be travelers and wanted to get back on the road. They got up and departed. Food servings are skimpy for prices compared to other places in town. This could be a great place to eat... I wish it were. |

Why in the world do the owners allow this to happen? This happens to me consistently in Perkins. I complain and just get a bad response from the manager. I have no idea why I tortured myself for so long by keep visiting this restaurant, but I guarantee this was very much my final visit. |

My wife and I visited Perkins for breakfast twice, and on both occasions we were seated but never attended to. We waited and waited for service until we finally walked out in disgust. On one occasion we reported the incident to management, who rudely ignored our complaints. I can't comment on the quality of their food as we never had a chance to sample it. |
