My Mom and I had lunch at La Mer today and enjoyed it immensely. We had calamari for an appetizer, it was fresh and delicious, We ordered the Parrillada (variety of barbecues) for two, it was enough to feed four. They were very tasty, the beef ribs and chicken were juicy and tender. The sausages were great! The prices were moderate and the service by Lois was friendly and attentive. The husband and wife owners came over to say hello and asked if everything was all right. They were both friendly and gave the place a nice family atmosphere. This is a place that I will be visiting again soon! |

I went there with my son for late lunch today for the first time. I have been hearing mixed reviews about La Mer but has decided to find out for ourselves, and boy, were we pleasantly surprised!! Although the ambience is very simple, I like that the atmosphere was a happy one because our server, Lois, made it so. Because we came in after 3 p.m. the place was almost empty, nevertheless, Lois made our experience in there comfortably pleasurable. She was very friendly and attentive to our needs, and so were Kika and Bravo, who I believe are the owners. They came to our table to inquire about the food and the service, I like that they care enough to take the time to listen to customer's opinion.
They see to their customers' pleasure....hopefully the service will be the same, whether they are busy or not, but I can understand if there's a wait when they are busy because our food was served freshly cooked. We ordered calamari and empanada for appetizers, and parrilhada for two, and let me tell you, everything, including the bread, were fresh and delicious! I shall recommend this restaurant to my friends and clients, and my family and I will be back again...and again, as long as Kika and Bravo keep their food and service as good as we found it the first time we came. Keep up the good work! and thanks for giving us an enjoyable eating experience! |

My husband and I dined with a friend at La Mer on Saturday night. We had hesitated to go there as the restaurant is purported to feature Argentinean cuisine, which we were unsure about trying. We were pleasantly surprised to see a large variety of selections on the menu. Wanting to try a little bit of everything, we enjoyed the Chicken Quesadillas and Cheese Sticks as an appetizer. Both were excellent. For our dinners I selected Chicken Francaise and my husband ordered the Chicken Alfredo. Our company ordered the Crab Cakes. Chef Dan must be a miracle worker. The food was amazing and bountiful. We finished the rest of our meals for lunch today. Before we left, the owner came to our table to ask how everything was and he chatted with us for a bit. I highly recommend La Mer based on their delicious food and friendly staff. |

I had an excellent experience twice this month! I thought the food was incredible, the service was excellent and the entertainment unique. It wasn't the same ole KARAOKE that I see around town. It was some KARAOKE mixed in with live musicians and a great mix of songs to dance to! I hear that they are going to mix it up during the week and have more entertainment!

If it was possible to do a negative star rating we would use that for this restaurant. We tried to have dinner at La Mer last night. Unfortunately, after waiting over 1 hour 20 minutes for our order, with multiple promises that it would be out in just a few minutes, we were informed by our server that it would be at least another half hour. "You just have to wait -- watch the show and maybe your order will come out" was the message. While we were waiting only one table received their entrees. Other tables that were seated 30 minutes or more after us got appetizers. It became obvious that the restaurant was not interested in serving entrees. We can't comment on the food since finally we gave up. We left and ended up having a wonderful dinner at Blue. |

We've eaten here several times over the last 6 months or so. What started out as an acceptable but modest restaurant has become a bar for wanabe singers with alcohol issues. Setting the atmosphere issue aside, the food has taken a slow but steady nose dive to food bordering on or approaching "gone with the wind". The last experience was sincerely bad food, some of the worst food I ever stuck in my mouth. This was bad, I mean low grade, half gone bully beef. The staff is nice. They are very good people. My advice is pull the food service, get some displays with chips and jerky behind the bar and keep on singing the Neil Diamond! (It was bad music in '63 and still is). |

We had a very enjoyable dinner and very good service. Our grilled meats and sausages (parrillada for two) was very good as were the side dishes and fresh hot out of the oven rolls. We had the grilled Provolone for appetizer and was delicious. The Malbec Argentine wine was excellent smooth and deep but delicate taste red. Unfortunately they were out of our favorite Flan the Spanish version of the French Cream Broulette, but on the lighter side. The outstanding oceanfront location made our dinner the more enjoyable yet. We will be back. |

Since we first dined here on 4/6, we've been back many times. We've learned to stick with the steak, that's what we had a few weeks back the last time we were there. The pasta dishes are very good as well. But the steaks are the best I've had here or pretty much anywhere else. It tastes like it has been dry aged a good while. The seafood has been forgettable. I tried the AYCE ribs and the first portion was ok, a bit fatty but OK. The second portion was not good at all. I never had the prime rib. I suspect the previous review may have been AYCE prime rib night? The owner is a very nice guy and he tries very hard, maybe too hard. I hear there is or will be a new menu soon. Although the place is named La Mer, it really is La Steak. Excellent steaks and a great and affordable wine list. |

My wife and I went there last evening and I had the worst prime rib in my life (a long time). It was fatty, tough and tasteless. I told our friendly waitress who told us the owner/chef said it Black Angus and that's why it was fatty (NOT!)! My wife's chicken was dry and tasteless. We will not go back. However, happy hour seems to be a good thing. The bar full... drafts were $0.95 and wells were $2.50 plus they had karaoke. |

Friendly, responsive service. Nice atmosphere with music the night we were there. Not overly salted and good flavor. If you are a catholic, you need to add your own salt here and that's a good thing. Mixed vegetables were properly grilled with sundried tomato slices. We didn't have the beef but should have. It looked great. We had seafood items. We'll go with steak or prime rib next time. The wine list by the glass is extensive and very reasonable with a generous poor. Overall, a very pleasant experience. |

Our visit here was a disaster from the minute we walked in. They were almost empty yet service was still very slow and unresponsive. The food lacked flavor and did not taste particularly fresh like it was frozen and canned. The atmosphere and the food are very dull and we will not return. |

We like to try all the new places in Flagler Beach after they have been open for a few months, just to give them a chance to get all the kinks out... but now that we have tried La Mer, we wish now that we hadn't waited! The menu is extensive, the food is excellent, the staff are friendly and the view is great. What else could you want? |

We ordered parillada and it was delicious... the meat was tender and we were served amicably. Good food and excellent service. |

Excellent food, I had the "paella a la marinara" which was very good for $12.95. My wife started with "ceviche" and then with "chivito al plato". I also recommend the "beef empanadas" with garlic sauce. |

Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I had filet mignon and garlic mashed potatoes for $9.50. The meat was excellent, not a morsel of fat and very tender. My girlfriend had spinach lasagna for $6.90. She said it was very good.
The service was excellent, but there was only a family of three there when we arrived. |
