How this joint continues to make their rent is the big question. Went for lunch on a weekday. We both ordered one of the combos off a very limited menu. Below average food, small portions, lousy margaritas, poor service. We went around 2:30 PM and apparently the regular wait staff had packed it in. We were "served" by a cook who wanted to be somewhere else. Now I know why the food is weak. Unfortunately, most of the chairs are unfit for habitation by anyone but a Hobbit and there are no booths. As we left the cooks were hanging around the front. Strictly fourth rate all round. |

My husband and I first tried this restaurant 2 years ago and it was terrible. After reading some of the reviews here we decided to give it another try. We went for dinner tonight and will not go back again. To start with the salsa that is served with the chips was so spicy we couldn't eat it. I ordered steak fajitas which had no redeeming qualities. The only thing that was good about it was the guacamole served on the side. My husband ordered a chicken dish and on a scale of 1-10 he gives it a 4. The service over all was fine. 2 sodas, 2 entrees and our bill was a ridiculous $35 never again! |

Food and service are great. Prices are reasonable. Margarita's are the best we've ever had. However very disappointed that they are not open on Sundays anymore. That is my husband's and I only day off and we always went on Sundays. We will not be able to go there as often now. |

I go there at least 2 times a week! They are almost like family and other than fast food is the only place I can go and get in and out in 30 minutes. I get there at 11;05 and leave about 11:20 after awhile they learn your ways and they just about predict what you order.
I order the same thing every time they see me pull up and just about have it on the table when I walk in (too predictable, huh?). All in all I've always had great service and the people are so nice. Even the guy who brings out the chips and salsa cannot speak English but he sure tries! |

Thank goodness for the tortilla chips and salsa! The service and food are terrible. We sat for over 20 minutes without seeing our server. We asked the other employees in the restaurant and another server to get her or help us and we were just ignored. I know they understood what we asked. When our food finally came out, one out of the four meals we ordered was what I call edible. My chicken enchilada was disgusting. It was not heated all the way through and the cheese wasn't melted? I wanted to send it back, but our server disappeared again. |

Sorry to say the service is bad, the food is below normal standards and the prices are high for what you do not get! I am from S. Callie and this is not authentic Mexican. I cannot believe I am going to say this, but Taco Bell is better and is generic as it comes. Please try and remember what real Mexican food looks and tastes like! |

I've been to Tijuana and Juarez and sampled real Mexican food, although La Hacienda is not perfect, it's pretty close. The only thing they need to perfect true Mexican is making you run for the bathroom later, which by the way, they shouldn't try. Enjoy. |

My wife and I moved here very recently from Colorado, where we had a choice of several very good to excellent Mexican-style restaurants in the Denver area. We have, to date, eaten at La Hacienda four times. The food, while not outstanding, has been pretty good for the most part.
Oh yes, there are some things we found different, like the ground meat is some dishes, but our experience from eating in Mexican restaurants in many different parts of the country or even in the same general location is that each restaurant tends to make their dishes different from other restaurants' meals, even though they may be called the same thing. We consider that part of the adventure of dining out and trying new places.
The service has been, for the most part, pretty good, but not great, although I think part of the problem is that we Americans are always in a hurry, even when we eat out. Hey, what's the rush? If you want fast food, served quickly, go to a fast food restaurant.
We have found those waiting on us at La Hacienda to be very friendly and helpful. We have been waited on promptly on each occasion, but we have normally been there on perhaps the less than busy evenings, so I cannot speak to how the service is on Friday and Saturday evenings. I like the $2 Margaritas, too. :-) |

My friends and I work nearby and always stop by on Friday when we get off. First let me say that Mondo and his wife do a GREAT job with one exception...the wait time is not good. But I understand cause it's LOTS of people on Fridays. We usually get some kind of appetizer to share and I want to say that the nachos with beef and cheese is GREAT! The bartenders could pay a little more attention but I also understand that it is PACKED at the bar on Friday. USUALLY one of us girls in the group goes to get our drinks because it seems you get faster service if you have the right...ahem...equipment. |

Just plain terrible food. Chicken is covered with powdered "spices" which taste terrible, and a bit greasy. Save the ground beef for Taco Bell, I've never seen it at a real Mexican restaurant. I grew up where Mexican food places were everywhere, so every time I'd get my Mexican food craving I'd give this place another chance, and every time I'd be equally disappointed. It's hard to believe the owners eat this food themselves. Go for the Margaritas and salsa, avoid the meat! |

Have eaten here several times since La Hacienda opened. Food and service have steadily gone down hill. What I really don't understand is the filth that remains not to be cleaned up. Also dirty tables and bar while staff are chit-chatting at the hostess stand. Christmas decor not taken down in one maybe, two years! Dust collectors. Would be afraid to see what the kitchen looks like. I will no longer go here which really is a shame. Had potential. |

I couldn't tell you what the food is like. I've tried them 3 times for lunch. Every time it wasn't busy however, waiters and staff repeatedly walked by us with no acknowledgement at all. Sat for 5 to 10 minutes each time w/o even getting a menu. The last time it was laughable. As we left the girl I was with spoke Spanish heard one of them say as we walked out the door. "oh, ther're leaving?" What a joke this place is! |

I enjoyed this place. I always eat the burritos or enchiladas...yes they are messy but that is how I like 'em. Granted it is Americanized Mexican but that is ok with me. When visiting my father in Texas, numerous times, I have tried it all. I even went "authentic" Mexican once...not too many places hang their meat in a window! I will stick with La Hacienda and my Ameri-Mex food. |

This place is decorated so nicely, that my family and I thought it couldn't be anything but a winner. The service was great. The food was bland. I went in there excited to finally try some fried ice cream, as my husband and mother in law were explaining to me how good it is. The "fried" coating consisted of cinnamon and sugar frosted flakes. I was so dissapointed as were my husband and mother in law. We won't be going back. sorry. |

As a part time resident of Palm Coast, I find myself at La Hacienda quite frequently. Of course, I get the same thing everytime (the steak strips and potatoes in the green sauce which is served in a hot lava rock type bowl) and it's delicious! Granted it's not the absolute best mexican food I have ever had but it's good. I have always had good service and even if they may not be completely fluent in English they always want to please. |

We have been there 3 times and three times left empty plates!! This is by far the best all around restaurant I have been to in years...and I leave satisfied, a pair of perfectly made Margaritas under my belt & I love that they will answer you in Spanish if you try to speak it! Javier is a wonderful attendant and treats us to small talk each time we come in...THIS should be the area's #1 restaurant...I love the Veggie Platter...I like to get a side of guacamole it's fresh, home made, not from a package!! Lime with everything - mmmmmm! Javi makes the best Margaritas, so try to get him to make yours...hope to see you there...they have karaoke and dancing to Latin music (HOORAY!!)on Fri & Sat & I haven't ventured out in the night yet, but intend to, need a date? The 3 times I went to La Hacienda, I sat comfortably (I am VERY thin and had no trouble with the seats). Went for dinner each time, and Friday night had lots of little kids, so we think that it's a place kids like to eat...saw them all eating and behaving well..our attendants , yes, they were many, but this is how you are served in TRUE Mexican places..."it's a family affair" and they are all trying to be helpful to you. You REALLY have to understand the Spanish culture to "get it". Our food were always tasty and when my sister in law orders her enchiladas, she always gets the shredded beef instead of ground beef...she eats every bite! We have never had a bad experience there, and love the artwork on the walls and the Mexican music...authentic, and also, we don't go there "in a rush" like most people, in & out...when you dine out, you have to learn to relax and not be in a hurry...good company, good conversation, and you will have a great time! Also, get those superb 'ritas...pure heaven!!! |

I guess if you want, what these people call, "real mexican" go here. Be sure to go here also if you want an uncomfortable, over-priced, under-sized portion, poor served meal. However, if you are like many Palm Coast upper crustians be sure to go here for the great Mexican feel, wonderful sexually liberal ways of the servers, and a place where you can discuss with your friends from the AARP how much fun you had the last time you were in Cancun. |

I have read many of the comments listed and I do agree with the sitting issue being uncomfortable. The seating against the wall tends to be very uncomfortable but simple solution if your visiting. I just had to say that when it comes to Auth Mexican Cuisine/Dining La Hacienda knows what it's doing. If you like your Mexican a little on the American side then by all means go to Taco Bell, Rio Bravo, etc. but if you like living on the edge then La hacienda not only brings the taste of Mexico to Palm coast but also the experience... Live on the edge, go ahead enjoy the difference, I promise that you will not regret it! |

Let's begin with everyone comparing this Authentic Mexican Rest with Rio Bravo or any other Aerican Tex-Mex Rest as if they can be put in the same category. La Hacienda is REAL MEXICAN food and for those that know the difference it's worth the time & money. The atmosphere is as close to Mxico that you are gonna get and that includes the seats, I personally am glad that it's not Americanized because then it will be just another American Taco Bell/Tex-Mex Restaurant....So for those of us that can really appreciate the Spanish/Mexican food, music & culture then you are in for a treat! ;o) |

I was disappointed with my visit to La Hacienda. A colleague recommended it and I saw nothing very appealing. First off, it is very uncomfortable. We were fidgeting in our chairs with discomfort. The service was difficult as the server spoke very little English. The food was bland and very "sloppy". I have eaten Mexican food many times and this was by far the worst. |

So so food and very uncomfortable seating. Food was rather bland and looked very "sloppy". Service was okay when we ordered but when we asked questioned off the menu, the server couldn't speak English enough to answer them. He didn't even understand when we asked for him to get someone who could. |

SEATING IS TERRIBLE!!! Food is so so. Not much better than Mexican fast food. DIRTY FLOORS! NASTY BATHROOM! There has to be better Mexicn food in the area with comfortable seating and a clean bathroom. |

The chairs are definitely not comfortable, but the place is clean. Staff tries hard but sometimes short on speaking English. Food is not as good as expected (Rio Bravo is better IMHO) - it just isn't as authentic as it should be. Prices are much too high for quality and quantity. Ambience is appropriately tacky. |

When I went, the prices hadn't apparently gone up as much as they have recently. My only complaint was that the wait-staff spoke basically no English. I asked for a particular item, and the waiter was dumbfounded. I tried my hardest to explain what I wanted, and he still didn't get it. When he brought out my food, it was absolutely not anything close to what I had asked for. Then I had to request each individual item, salsa, quacamole, etc. It wasn't much fun cause the chairs hurt my bum and needless to say, we haven't been back since. |
