This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant set in a dismal location. If the restaurant itself could be cleaned up and redecorated, even slightly, it would make a huge difference. However, the food is delicious and plentiful, served very hot and by courteous servers. We ordered from the lunch menu and were completely surprised at the amount of food for the price, not to mention the high quality. Give it a try. |

The Rodeo is a great find! We arrived about 2:30pm on a Saturday and ordered from the lunch menu. We were prepared for the worst as far as decor and cleanliness after reading some reviews on this site...WRONG. The booths are large and comfortable, the restaurant is spacious, pleasant, and clean--unlike some real dumps in Palm Coast that have received glowing reviews here...or yet another cramped dull box inside a strip mall. (Note to The Rodeo: fix that forlorn set of blinds in one window!)
Ah, but the FOOD! Chips are served warm and FRESH, among the best we've ever tasted with excellent salsa and a couple of equally tasty margaritas (not the sickening mix served to us elsewhere in Palm Coast) I had fajitas...delicious, with fluffy rice and love those refried beans with melted cheese. My wife had the enchilada, which she loved and she is a tough sell. A Dos Equis dark was served with a frozen mug...ahhhh.
Service was good. And beg pardon, but no residual discomfort whatsoever that night or the next day (also the case with another Mexican restaurant in P.C...hey, this review is COMPLETE!)
The Rodeo is inside The Hearth Inn Motel, which is nearly hidden off Old Dixie Highway just west if I-95 opposite Plantation Bay. The Rodeo is definitely worth finding and we are looking forward to our next visit, which will be soon. |

This place used to be very good but it's become very dirty and run down. The food is no longer appetizing in this environment and Rodeo would probably do very well in its own location away from this run down motel. |

We went there this past spring while on our mission to try every Mexican restaurant in Flagler County.
Well, we weren't thrilled with the decor. It was like old chain restaurant-style taken over by a Mexican restaurant. The seat in our booth was torn. Not good.
On to the food. Both my husband and my father-in-law enjoyed their food- one had shrimp something, the other had something with beef and pork. They said it was tasty and have gone back there by themselves once since then.
I, on the other hand, am vegetarian. That is usually not a problem most places I go, because there is always at least one vegetarian meal on the menu. Restaurants, in general, have come a long way since the days when all a vegetarian could hope for was a "garden salad" consisting of some brown-edged iceberg lettuce, a sliver of onion, and a cherry tomato on top.
I ordered from the "Vegetarian" section of the menu, figuring I can never go wrong with a veggie quesadilla. Since my husband is Latino he always, in Spanish, double checks with the wait staff in every Mexican restaurant we visit to make sure there is absolutely no meat in the vegetarian platters. The waitress at Rodeo assured us otra vez y otra vez that there was absolutemente no carne in the veggie quesadilla.
One can imagine the horror I felt when I bit down into my food and found a piece of chicken! Even if you are a meat eater you can see how disappointed I would be to realize that I had either been lied to or the order was completely screwed up (chickens, spinach- they aren't even the same color!).
Well, my husband immediately called her over and questioned how a chicken managed to wander it's way into my food. She calmly explained to us that they take any left over pieces of meat and add them to all other dishes (as filler)- even the so called "vegetarian" dishes. He informed her that meat is not considered a vegetable and that it was pure false advertising- bordering on dangerous- to put meat scraps into a vegetarian dish.
Because there was nothing I could eat, my family suggested we leave for my sake. I offered to stay so that they could enjoy their meal and they did. I noshed on the chips. Though I was a little nervous to try the salsa for fear a cow may have been thrown in for filler! |

This is not a bad restaurant if you can get past the location and the bland decor. The food, for the price, is quite good. I really like the poblano chile rellano, and the steak burrito that my husband had was very tasty. Their service is quick and courteous. Not bad at all if you are craving Mexican food and just want a quick and easy dinner out. |

I like Rodeo but really wished it was in a better location. The service is very good and the food is very traditional basic Mexican. Don't expect chain restaurant Chevy's style food, this is not what Rodeo's offers. The restaurant has to use the hotel's restrooms which are very dirty. |

My husband ordered takeout from Rodeo last night. NEVER AGAIN. We had ordered takeout from them once before, shortly after they first opened and found the food to be terrible. After reading fairly decent reviews on here, we decided to give them another shot. What a waste of money. The beef inside my enchilada smelled like cat food and the taste was awful. The rice that came with it looked like someone has chewed it up and spit it in my takeout carton. The cheese in my husbands quesadilla wasn't even melted. This is the second time in the past couple years that we have thrown out 30 bucks worth of food from them.
Also, when my husband was on the phone placing the order, someone in the background was literally screaming with laughter so loudly that I could hear it across the room. He had to keep repeating himself to be heard over this. Then when he went to pick up the order, all the employees were sitting at a table together and completely ignored him until he walked over to the table and asked for his food. Ridiculous. |

We went as a family of four and each ordered different items. The food was delivered hot and fast and all dished were all very good, but although different, they were very similar tasting to each other. The service was excellent and our server kept very busy making sure we were happy with our meals and drinks refilled. This is our new favorite restaurant. |

This is a great place. It can look off-putting from the outside but once in you'll find it comfortable and clean. They have a very large menu of all the typical Mexican dishes plus a few house specialties. Our server wasn't too good at speaking English but was quite efficient and friendly. The food is not overly flavorful but it's plentiful and very inexpensive. |

Having moved from California, we lowered our expectations of finding really good Mexican food in Central Florida. But with those expectations, we visited Rodeo and had what we expected, an average Mexican meal. The location is a bit strange, but the ambience inside the restaurant was fine and the servers were efficient and friendly. Food portions are on the larger side, somewhat tasty, but not high quality with ground beef being the main stay in the beef selections, nor truly of great Mexican spices or taste. Could be much better with a little more attention to quality and details. |

Nothing fancy and the servers aren't too good with English, but that all ads to its charm. From the outside Rodeos is not too inviting, but once inside it's a comfortable, authentic looking Mexican restaurant with nice booth seating and south of the border art. The menu is vast and its items are very inexpensive. Unless you speak Spanish, don't expect to chat too much with the servers, but you will find them friendly and efficient. The food is very typical of standard Mexican fare. It's colorful, flavorful and plentiful. A Spanish guitarist entertains throughout making it a great place to enjoy good food and an ice cold Corona. |

Rodeo's was quite a nice surprise. It's location is somewhat undesirable but once inside it is very pleasant and comfortable. A live singer and guitarist played Mexican songs and our server was very friendly and efficient. The menu is very extensive with just about every type of Mexican dish on offer. I ordered a combination dinner and my wife a chicken dish. Both were very good and more than we could eat! This is not fancy Mexican food, but it's flavorful, plentiful and good value. This is worth the little extra drive and much better than La Hacienda. |

Rodeo is slipping. We have been regulars and while they have always had a challenge with getting you your bill - past experiences were good. However, the owners have changed and while the food is ok - the Margaritas were not even as good as lemonade. They were expensive and did not have happy hour prices like the old owners. Well, we are looking for a new Mexican restaurant. |

I'm Mexican American and from the Texas border and that is some seriously bad food. I can understand it not being "authentic" or being from a different region than I'm used to but this just did not taste right. I also realized after I got home that I didn't get my 2 for one drink. I was charged twice. |

Rodeo is slipping. The first few times we visited the food was good. The last few times it hasn't been as tasty and the Margaritas were not even as good as lemonade. The bottled beer was not cold, a major sin in my book.
The dinner prices have soared, while the lunch specials are quite reasonable. This past Saturday night at 6:30 pm there were 2 other couples. The bathroom still had the same busted urinal from 2 months ago, and no towels in the dispenser. I think the word is out and the charm is gone. We used to tout the place to our friends, but no more. :(
Service has always been good, but with the higher prices and diminishing quality, we will travel to Daytona and the Cancun Lagoon. I hope they improve and I will try again in a couple of months, but that will be their last chance. |

Waitress couldn't care less if we needed refills! My 15 yr old son who will eat at almost anyplace was grossed out by the mess on his plate..a shrimp quesadilla... what a mess...not even a yummy one! My husband and I were introduced to this place by friends who ranted about the deal on pitchers of margaritas on Friday nights. Since then, we have been back at least two or three times a month. The food is delicious, the portions are more than adequate, the prices are sooo cheap, and most importantly, the staff is efficient and friendly. Yes, it is a little old and could use some renovating, but we tell everyone we know to try this place. So far, no one has disagreed with us after trying it! |

Anyone that has a problem with the food here has no idea what real Mexican food should taste like. Better off sticking with the processed American version you're accustomed to. The chefs at Rodeo know how to prepare authentic Mexican dishes. When you walk in and see local Mexican families eating there, that should give you a clue. We eat a Rodeo once a week, usually on Margarita night, and have never been let down. Atmosphere is what you make it. I have fun everywhere I go. Mmmmmmm. Writing this review made me crave a BIG burrito. I'm out of here; I'm headed to Rodeo! |

We are so lucky to live across the road in Plantation Bay because the food gets better each time we go. The service is fantastic and I get to practice my Spanish as well as enjoy my favorite - 'Chumichanga'. My husband is a vegetarian and has lots to choose from also. As a real estate agent all I can say is that it just boosts what our area offers. |

Worked for the Border Patrol for years along the southwest border and developed a taste for good Mexican food, hard to find around here, yes the Rodeo is in an old motel with something to be desired for the atmosphere, but I did not go there for visual entertainment. The food in our 12 plus times eating there has been very good every time. The service is outstanding for a little restaurant and the price is right. For those that refer to "taco bell" as a Mexican restaurant have no idea what real Mexican food is all about. Love the Rodeo. |

The second time I ate there, it was terrible, they started using bagged lettuce and the food just wasn't that good. It was also Cinco de Mayo so I chalked it up to they being very busy. We went one last time and us 4 adults all agreed it was horrible... I will never go back to this place even if they clean it up! |
