I really love really good pizza and pasta, but not here. Sorry to say the service was fair and the flavor was playing hide and seek. Prices are somewhat fair.. need to add some flare to the fare and we will be back as will the rest of the group that was with us. Nice decor. |

Me and my kids went to Mezzaluna for lunch on a Thursday. It wasn't very crowded, yet no one acknowledged that we were waiting for a table. Finally, after standing around for 15 minutes, we went up to a server asking to be seated. This has NEVER happened before. Obviously, Mike was busy schmoozing with friends and couldn't be bothered with customers. The pizza was good, as usual. But service seems to be slipping!!! |

I've never been here before . My cousin told me that it's pizza is great . My friend and I tried it out . It's the best in town . I used to go to Caruso's before it closed. Then we were going to another place. Mezzaluna is the best. great service .I'll definitely go there again. |

There is a reason there is always a waiting list to be seated. Mike runs an awesome pizzeria and it is not only the pizza that is fantastic try the other specialties on the menu. Believe me it is worth the wait. |

Love Mezzaluna...need I say more. The owners Mike, Vera , Mikie and Lisa are terrific. Great family and Great Food. Love the outdoor atmosphere and the indoor as well. They make you feel like family. Feels Good. The outdoor bartending is A+... Philly, Larry and Rosie are great assists to the restaurant. They all have great personalities but have to say that Rosie has the best welcoming smile and always looking to please and make you feel at home. You've got a great crew and 4+stars to you! |

Once again after a long ride on the motorcycle we decided to stop at the European Village as we craved pizza at Mezzaluna. After a long wait we ordered a loaded pie which came out fast and cooked perfectly. Great toppings (I ate all of Kathy's mushrooms) and easily the best pizza in the area. Great wait staff and will go back soon! |

We are snowbirds who visited Palm Coast in January 2008. We came here one night and the owner Mike was awesome and treated us like family. First, there was somewhat of a wait but he saw we had two little ones and so he arranged for us to be seated almost immediately. Secondly, he moved us to a different table when he saw we would be near smokers. I appreciated the concern he had for the health of our baby and toddler. Another great thing I liked was our waitress offered our toddler some pizza dough to play with while waiting on our pizza. What a genius idea....he loved it and it kept him occupied (and out of trouble!). The pizza was delicious. I really appreciate the way we were treated and loved the food. Great family place...highly recommend! |

We had a very good night out for dinner here. The food was very good, easily the best "Buffalo Chicken" pizza I have ever had. The wait was a little long, but what can one man do about it (Mikey), the place was very busy. Mikey was a very nice guy whom an hour after we had celebrated new years 08' he provided a few bottles of Champaign to the "Ashley" group, on the house. We are already making next years new years plans and will definitely be going the to celebrate it there. Thanks for the great time. The "Ashley" Group from Canada. |

If you want to wait hours for mediocre pizza, this is your place. Crust is soft and can't hold up to the toppings. I have tried it several times thinking I was missing something, I wasn't. There are better pizza places in town with less wait. If it is the European Village ambiance you are looking for, try some other places, they are better and no wait! |

Great Pizza, great atmosphere, love the market style patio. Service is friendly and the wait on a Friday night isn't that long, maybe 20 minutes. A great place to bring the kids. We just moved here in August and have had dinner there three times and ordered pizza to go once. European Village is a little gem in Palm Coast. |

The food is absolutely excellent and always fresh. My only reservation about the place is the time you have to wait to get a table and the time it takes to get your pizza on Friday and Saturday nights. But it really needs to be expected, of course everyone is going to flock to the quality of food. They use only the best cheeses on their pizza and always are smiling. My mom first told me about the place, now we go on a weekly basis. |

The food was quite good but prices a bit steep for what it was and the service lacked in every way. We felt like cattle herded in to eat. I understand people are waiting for tables but we waited too and we don't want to eat and run. A nice meal should be savored and enjoyed at your own pace, not that of the servers. |

Been a few times, once just got pizza and it was ok. Next time we got calamari, which was good, but I dip it in marinara, which here tastes like thick water. Very disappointing. A few of my friends work there, and I had them recommend dishes twice, both times had to send them back because they tasted bland. One was the chicken Mezzaluna I believe and the second was something that was supposed to have lemon and a wine sauce, all we could taste was a hint of lemon. I was hoping for a dish like one served at the Olive Garden. Would rather drive to Daytona or St. Augustine. Sauces are all bland. Which for me is the most important part of Italian food. |

The attention from staff here is unacceptable. I can accept a wait during busy periods for a table, but once seated I expect service to be in a reasonable time, and here it is not! We waited a long time for the server to arrive, then even longer for our drinks, and forever for our pizza. The pizza itself was quite good but certainly not worth the wait. They need to either get more staff or teach current staff to be more efficient. |

Service was so so and the food quite good for Palm Coast or even Daytona. However, in a major city like Orlando or Jacksonville, I would say it wouldn't hold a torch. Mezzaluna is definitely a step in the right direction for food in this area but we still have a long way to go. |

We finally had a chance to eat here and were somewhat disappointed. The food was average and was certainly not the best pizza I've had, especially for the price, and the service could of been more attentive. They also need a better welcoming system as it's somewhat disorientating at first as no one was around to greet or direct us. Its Euro Village location is excellent and I'd give it another try. |

Took guests to this restaurant on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at or about 6:30 pm. For some unknown reason the European Village was packed. I mean packed for a Tuesday evening. Had a party of 12 and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait time which extended well over one hour. My son spoke with Mike about the seating problem and Mike made miracles work and we were not only seated within 10 minutes, but he took our order in the portico area. The meal was served minutes after we sat down. My guests were on the verge of going elsewhere, but other restaurants capable of seating 12 together are limited in this area. And to please 12 peoples likes and dislikes is not easy. I knew the guests would enjoy the food here. Like I said Mike made miracles work and the evening turned out to be terrific and like I said everyone loved the food.
You have to try their specialty pizza of plum tomatoes, basil and garlic. Out of this world. As good as the pizza I ate in Sorrento, Italy.
If you have not tried Mezzaluna Pizzeria go there, you will not be disappointed.

After a long motorcycle ride through the country my wife suggested the European Village to find some lunch and after some debate we decided on Mezzaluna. We made the right choice... we were greeted promptly, given our choice of tables (we sat outside as it was a stunning afternoon) and the service was awesome plus they were extremely busy. The portions were huge (and we just wanted lunch!) and the food is skillfully prepared. The presentation was excellent, the staff is very attentive, and everyone always has a smile on their face! Very enjoyable! We will be back for dinner soon. |

This is the by far the best pizza in Flagler County! I would wait in line any day to sit and eat here. My family and I do not eat pizza anywhere else. We bring all of our out of town guests here. This restaurant makes European Village worth the trip every time! Mike Sr. treats everybody like he has known you forever. He really knows how to run a tight ship. Well, I must say that the hype is all there and the taste is... not! Severely bland and watery sauce and the portions are becoming increasingly smaller. The owners must have let things go to their heads. The sauce was never very flavorful but was passable. The ambiance is there but the rest needs to follow. Service is fair. |

I just found this site so my review is a little late. We spent the winter of 2006 in Palm Coast and will be returning in 2007. The first thing I plan to do is go over and visit my good friends Mike, Vera and staff and enjoy their food and company. It's true that they had some real growing pains this year. However, Mike was constantly upgrading services to keep up. Putting the check in outside along with a bar, adding chairs and benches, offering a glass of wine if the wait was long etc. Guess what, they wouldn't be growing so fast if people didn't like it. I've spent many a quiet afternoon over a long lunch, a little wine a good book and great company at Mezzaluna and am looking forward to returning in January. |

I visited on a Saturday and I had half of my spaghetti left over, and I asked the server to pack it in the box. The young server, named Nxxx, accidentally spilled some of the spaghetti on her table or cooler's top. I expected her to use a knife and a fork to cut the dirty part away, but instead she used her fingers! Yes, her own fingers to scoop it back up in the box. Of course I told her I didn't want the left-overs anymore and she was still asking me if I was sure I didn't want. It seems like she had no clue that scooping my spaghetti back to the box was kind of gross. Also, the waiting time of the service was unacceptable! |

My friend and I had dinner last week. The service was average...they are trying to improve. The food was good They are just too busy as this place European Village doesn't have a lot of places to eat at. Therefore, the place gets really busy. If you want to sit outside and eat Italian...this is a nice place just too busy and have to wait. Give them a chance, they are doing the best that they can do. |

FOOD CRITIC REVIEW

Palm Coast Lifestyles Magazine Food Critic Rating: |

|
Having been to Mezzaluna before, I was excited about the prospect of reviewing them. Past experiences told me this would be a good review, so I contacted the usual suspects and off we went.
We arrived to a moderately busy Mezzaluna and continued our conversation while we waited to be acknowledged before taking our seats. Nearly 8
minutes into our conversation this acknowledgement never came. Mildly annoyed, we chose a table and had a seat, only to discover that this table hadn't been cleaned.
Wiping crumbs from my forearms, I looked around the restaurant to see if I could find a blatant reason for what had started out as a sub-par experience. I could not find one. In fact, I found that there was ample staff on hand and the owner was on the premises. Determined to see this resolve itself we pressed on, but the subject of our conversation had moved to the lack of service.
Nine minutes into this conversation our waitress arrived, cheerfully requesting our drink orders. One thing prevented us from ordering... We still had no menus, so we didn't even know what they had. She trotted off to get our menus and immediately returned to deal them out asking for our drink orders again.
This type of service continued for the remainder of the evening. Writing the service off, we waited for our food, which was sure to be better than our experience thus far.
Our order consisted of a Calamari Appetizer, Caesar Salad, Veal Mezzaluna, Broccoli Rabe, and a slice of Stuffed Eggplant Pizza; a good cross-section of their menu.
The calamari and caesar were both quite good. Just as we completed this part of our meal, our waitress came out with the rest of our oders.
One consistent issue each of us had with our meals was with their flavor. Each dish was bland. In the case of the Veal Mezzaluna, it wasn't enough to deduct points for, but points were deducted for my Broccoli Rabe. For those who aren't familiar with the dish, it is a delicate balance of flavors from sweet onions, sour rabe (a popular Italian leafy vegetable also known as rapini), and fresh Italian sausage, usually with fennel, over your choice of pasta with olive oil and garlic. It is a beautifully delicate meal that everyone should try at least once.
My rabe seemed as if the sausage and rabe were tossed into a fryer. Both were dried from over cooking. The rabe had been cooked until crunchy. Not a quality one would ever expect from this dish.
Seeking relief, we turned our attention to ambiance, which was acceptable. Mezzaluna's only problems with ambiance really have more to do with European Village, than this specific restaurant. Music from other restaurants can be heard over that being played at Mezzaluna, which takes away from the intended feeling of Mezzaluna, as it probably does from many of the other restaurants with outdoor seating at European Village.
In their defense, I have been to Mezzaluna in the past, and had much better experiences. While this evening's "difficulties" could have been attributable to staff, circumstance, etc., it is my sincerest hope that the service and quality I have seen previously have not become a thing of the past.
Mezzaluna is a beautiful restaurant and has the potential for greatness, but in this reviewer's opinion, they have got some work to do.

I also have to say the waitress was excellent too. There is always service with a smile at Mezzalunas. We look forward to having my sons confirmation party there in May. Thank you! |

Thank you Margaret for your response to my review...nope, I didn't get up on the wrong side of the bed. I was looking forward to a delicious meal like usual at Mezzaluna and was severely disappointed on the food and the response of the Management to our concerns. We all work hard for our money and hate to see it go to waste. Jess was a great server and she made it worth it at the end, God Bless her. But we will not be back, we will make the drive up to Carrabba's, they are worth it. If you read most of the negative reviews, we all say about the same. Just like Max said….the good reviews must be written by family. But I do wish Mezzeluna well, I hope they get it together and take these reviews as constructive criticism . Bon Appetite! |

Ambiance: Foul mouth pizza inhaling, beer swilling greeter. Service: Stealth Pasta :Penne a la vodka=flour, water, and tomato paste. Pizza: No Thanks, won't find any here! Boy oh boy that Stephanie must have rolled out of the wrong side of the bed the day she went to Mezzaluna!! My husband and I went last nite Thursday and we waited a few minutes and were seated by the wonderful Mike Sr. He was his normal pleasant self. Our waitress was wonderful and our food the Ravioli Bolognaise (spelled wrong oops!) and my husbands chicken dish were excellent as usual. No problems with bread tasting old, cold or crummy! Our sauce was also delicious! Stay up at Carrabba's Stephanie! |

My boyfriend and I went to Mezzaluna for dinner during tropical storm Ernesto. We figured they would be open even with the storm coming. We were greeted by Mike Sr. and sat to the table we wanted. The visits before have been delicious. But this visit was so poor that we will never go back. They are trying to expand and it's obvious that the arrogance is compromising the food. The great bread that they serve regularly was dry and tasteless and cold. We asked Jess, our waitress, if she could find us some fresh, that serving was worse. Then we asked our busboy to try, and it was the same old bread. Then Mike Sr (Mikey, his son, walked by us and didn't even ask us how everything was) came up and asked us how we were doing and we asked him about the bread. He proceeded to ask my boyfriend to follow him to show him what he is trying to do. He showed him a warming oven that they are keeping the bread to be able to keep up with the demand. Well, the bottom line is that they use to cook the bread per order and it was amazing. But now they cook it and keep it warm all day and it was cardboard. No excuses. The pizza was not the same either. The crust was flavorless and the sauce had no seasoning. I had the Chicken Parm with Penne and Alfredo sauce (which they charged extra for) and it tasted like it all came out of a jar. I feel that if I was paying $14 for chicken Parm, I should get fresh bread and any sauce I want. The bill was $42.00 and it was very disappointing. As far as the service...Jess get out of there. Come up to Carrabba's( St. Augustine) and serve some food that you can be proud of and make some real money. On top of that you won't have to put up with the arrogance of Mike and Mikey. The restaurant is getting too big for their britches, get a grip and go back to the basics. |

Went there Thursday night for dinner. The place was packed and we were told there would be about a 20 minute wait to be seated. We sat down on a park bench across the front of the restaurant, after a few minutes one of the waiters came by and offered us a free glass wine. Very nice.
Once we sat down for dinner we ordered Mussels for appetizer, I had Eggplant parmegian with ziti and my dinner date had Chicken parmegian with ziti. The mussels were delicious and the fra diavolo sauce it came with was awesome for dipping bread in. The portions for the main dish was more than sufficient and the ziti was plenty. Everything we ate was excellent! As much as we stuffed ourselves, we had plenty left to take home with us. The service was great and the owner asked us if we enjoyed our meal as we were leaving and thanked us for coming.
This placed is packed because of the great food, the negative reviewers had to wait a while for a table and service. When there's more people coming in for a meal than the place can hold, you'll just have to be patient... Besides, its a sign that the food must really be worth the wait if people are willing to wilt outside in the heat before they get seated.
It was my fourth visit to Mezzaluna and I will be going back again! |

1st Visit to Mezzaluna's had to wait 90 minutes just for sitting down having a pizza. This was in May 2006. We knew it was a Saturday night...but come on. Service is Too Slow. Pizza was very average... We returned again last week to give it one more chance...and found the crowd was the same, no extra help to handle the crowds. The owner tries hard...it is the location of the place. Too slow of service to wait just for a pizza. If you go there for a dinner or pizza be there early. Friday and Saturday nights are too busy. |

I'm sorry but the pizza here is average at best, and for all that you have to go through... forget it! The place is way too packed for tables inside. We, too, were asked to "step outside" to wait for our pizza we spur of the moment decided to get to-go. And the pizza is just not that good. I know they are packed, but it is not because of the quality its because of the location. |

While traveling from North Carolina to Florida we stopped by Mazzaluna to get a slice of true NEW YORK pizza. I have eaten Mike's pizza when I lived in New York and it was a real treat for my family to stop by and say hello to old friends and to eat a great piece of pizza. If you are in the area be sure to drop by for the best pizza you will find. |

This is the BEST pizza I've ever had. I was never a pizza fan until I went to this restaurant. If you go, be prepared to wait, it is well worth it. I gave slightly less than perfect score because the servers need to greet guests sooner when seated, and be more attentive before, during and after the meal. We waited too long at the table to receive menus, place our order, for drinks, and we even waited excessively long for our check, long after we are finished. If these gaps in service were filled, they could move the tables at a faster pace (while still by no means rushing the customers), and this would also reduce wait times. |

Absolutely hands down our new favorite pizza place & even restaurant in Palm Coast. My kids love eating here & love the people. They received free t-shirts one night which was really nice. Found out the owner's from our home town in NY! Next thing I know we go in there & now my kids are scoping out the place for Mike & giving him hugs & kisses! I'll definitely go back again & again! |

FOUR OF US WENT TO THIS PLACE.... WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE GOING TO THIS PLACE ,THERE IS NO TASTE TO THIS FOOD. THE SAUCE THEY GAVE US TO DIP OUR BREAD WAS LIKE TOMATO SOUP NO SPICES AT ALL, WE HAD TO DOCTOR IT UP WITH THE SPICES ON THE TABLE. NOBODY ATE IT ALL. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS GREAT BUT ITALIAN FOOD SHOULD TASTE LIKE ITALIAN. YOU WILL NOT SEE US THERE AGAIN. AS FOR THE YELLING VERY UNPROFESSIONAL...CHEF BO-ARDEE IN A CAN HAS MORE TASTE. |
