For some reason, there does not exist a lot of love for this place. We went this past Sunday and had a great experience. Not much has changed regarding the decor of Cracker Barrel in the past 15 years; the atmosphere is typical of all Cracker Barrels. Our waiter took our order and informed me, upon bringing our entrees that they were out of Mac and Cheese. I received steak fries instead. But then, he told me that the chefs found some mac and cheese and I received them as well, free of charge! Food was great; one must love their homemade hash brown casserole. I have to buck the trend, so to speak, and give this place two thumbs up! For a mid-Sunday afternoon, the place had a fair share of patrons. Price was great for the amount of food!
My family used to be big fans of this place. The size of the servings are small and have gone down in taste and quality. They should be ashamed to serve the biscuits they are small and crumble when we tried to butter them.
Went for lunch Friday, had the beef noodle soup with salad for $5.97. Soup was great and loaded with plenty of beef. The salad for the price couldn't be beat. Plenty of fresh tomatoes and greens. topped with grilled chicken breast. Best deal around. Server,Suzanne, is always on her game with service and a smile.
This is one of those places I personally just can't get into. My friends love it and I cringe when they want to meet here for lunch. It always feels like we just came in on a bus load of 100 tourists that only have 15 minutes to eat. I struggle to find something on the menu that appeals to me and whatever I order it's way overcooked, bland and greasy! I did find a salad that's not too bad so I just stick to that from now on. Maybe I should find new friends LOL
