This was not great. The service was OK, no margaritas, only Mike's Margarita in the bottle, the serving size was only OK. My son had the empanadas, which were good, I had the shrimp fajita, only OK, and only refried beans, no black beans, and there was sour cream on everything, even though we asked for no cheese or sour cream and specifically chose dishes that didn't need cheese. I would not consider this very authentic, and I definitely wouldn't be driving out of the way to go there again. And for what we got I thought it was expensive.
If you want authentic Mexican food, this is the only place to go in the area. Hand-made tortillas and tamales, made to order guacamole and pico...this is the real deal. It's not tex-mex or some sort of American-ize version of Mexican food. It's a hidden gem, whole in the wall, great Mexican food restaurant made with fresh ingredients. If you are a true foodie, this Mexican food will spoil you!
NEED MORE STAFF/COOKS!!!! Went there for lunch one afternoon and there were 15 Austin Outdoor workers and 1 cook who is also the waitress.....had to leave :( BUT......the food is unbelievably Delicious and they have the their coke and Pepsi in glass bottles which my kids like because they feel like they are on vacation, lol.
We are originally from San Diego, CA and have missed authentic Mexican food. Well, we have found it! The food, service and atmosphere is perfecto! We will be eating there from now on!
This is not your typical Mexican restaurant and inside it's more like a home than a restaurant. The menu is not huge and doesn't have all the usual dozens of combinations the other Mexican places have. But it has some good choices that are cooked with love and taste great! Service is unhurried and food can take a while to arrive which is fine as it's freshly prepared. It's not in a very appealing location but its warm service and good food make it a winner.
What a great little whole in the wall, family run business. The place was modest, but very clean. The service was prompt and very good. We had the chicken quesadillas, steak supreme nachos, and 3 different tacos. Apparently the tamales are a hot item, as they had just sold out! The owners were very friendly and outgoing. The food was very good. We will definitely go back.
This has to some of the closest to seriously authentic mexican food around..... from so. Cal and know what Mexican true cusine is like... tacos made from hand, yes, handmade corn tortillas! fresh! Give it a try!
