My son and daughter took my wife and myself there for mothers day. The service was impeccable with even the manager checking to see if we were satisfied. Our waitress Nicole was great and the food was wonderful. A very pleasant dining experience.
I am a long time Olive Garden fan and regularly ventured to Daytona. It was a very disappointment birthday dinner tonight. It was a series of unfortunate events. First my soup was late after 3 others were finished with their soup/salads. Then two people ordered the shrimp and chicken carbonara and chicken scampi was brought to the table. Waitress said someone else took her plates but I thought you checked your guest plates before leaving the kitchen. After waiting for 10-15 minutes, staff came to apologize but was not sorry enough to offer a comp on one of the meals. After 20 minutes, the meals were brought after we decided to get them to go. Worst experience ever and cannot say I will go back again. This is not the first time it did not go well but enough is enough.
Always a pleasant dining experience , fantastic menu with a professional staff! Lunch or Dinner with endless soup or salad and bread sticks is real home style good! Chicken Parm, Egg Plant or any pasta dish. also The complimentary wine tasting is a plus.
I be fair, we are not the biggest fans of Italian food. We do enjoy the Lunch Special, soup, salad & bread sticks, always good taste, service and value, and is a good way to use those Gift Certificates we receive as gifts.
I would like to stress, I (we, my wife and I) really love to eat at the Olive Garden. My wife and I used to drive down to Daytona often to get some Olive Garden. When the one in Palm Coast opened up, we were extremely excited about not having to drive down to Daytona or up to Jax. The first couple visits were around opening day and we did have some very minor flaws (kept getting hard bread sticks), other than that, not any thing to complain about to the staff. We have returned several times in the past year. We do keep getting hard bread sticks so we stopped ordering the alfredo dipping sauce we have ordered for bread sticks the past ten years.
We went there on Mother's Day with a group of 10. One patron in our group received a meal that was over cooked and should have never left the kitchen. Management did not do a great job of resloving the issue, but it was not mine, so we did not worry.
On this past Saturday, my family and I went to enjoy a nice meal there. We were initially told 30-45 mins at 6:30pm, which is no problem. The problem occurred at 7:38pm and we were still standing in the parking lot. When addressed they did seat us with in another ten minutes. Our server was great, but busy. None of this is her fault. We ordered an app which came out soggy, it was returned (I hate returning food) and a new app came out about 5 mins later. We ordered our entrees (Steak Gorgonzola and Mediterranean Chicken). Steak was ordered rare (we only order it rare at this location so it will come out medium rare). We have never had the Med Chk. The Steak came out extremely burnt and the Med Chicken was cooked well, but the noodles were water logged.
The manager came to the table because my wife addressed her steak issue. I don't like mentioning anything until dinner is over to prevent spitting or dirt/floor spice being placed in the meal. The manager did return the steak at the time of depature, and "comp'ed" the bill for the steak.
My personal opinion of this entire situation should have been taken care of quickly and completely. This was a train wreck from the get go, and only snow balled into a disaster. The manager did ask if we wanted dessert as memoriam of this train wreck. I declined once again the complaining/fear of retribution!
For some reason, this location has a horrible track record of hard bread sticks. We have been there at least ten times since it opened and may 8 of the ten times the sticks have been harder than acceptable. We have not had this problem at the Daytona Bch location.
This location seems smaller than other Olive Garden's I've been in, but it has a nice cozy ambiance and professional servers. I had a dish of ravioli stuffed with Portobello mushrooms with a smoked cheese sauce that was really good. My sister had the Apricot Chicken which she enjoyed and we both shared a calamari appetizer. Olive Garden is a top notch restaurant and we look forward to returning again soon.
