When this Cafe first opened, they had the best breakfast in town. As time passed, everything changed. Staff looked unkempt, and food was third rate. We stopped going. Two days ago we decided to give it another try. We ordered a simple breakfast. Eggs, bacon, home fries, corn fritters. The bacon was like shoe leather (heavy unchewable), and the home fries tasted like lukewarm 2-day old leftovers. Downright insulting to actually be served something so unappetizing and inedible. The eggs and corn fritter were okay. Cost $27. We will never go back!
My wife and I just had Lunch at Hi Tulip. I ordered a Hamburger and she order a Southwestern Salad. When the food arrives my burger was O.K. but her salad was not. One of the ingredients in her salad was Guacamole. The Guacamole was brown, and it was all spoiled. What got me was even though it was spoiled, the chef went ahead and used it. When I question why you would knowingly use a spoiled ingredient all I got was a shoulder shrug. Not even an apology or a comment.. I understand this place has changed hands recently. My wife and I used to go here at least three times a month. Sorry.. No More.
We left without being served. My boyfriend and I went to Hi Tulip yesterday morning for the first time. When we came in, they were busy, but there was one table available near the front. We were seated promptly... and then waited. For 15-20 minutes, nobody acknowledged us (although there were waitresses visiting other tables directly next to us - when I tried to get their attention, they ignored us). Nobody came by to get our order or bring us drinks. After 20 minutes, the buser stopped by and ask if he could get us a drink. My boyfriend ordered a coffee and I ordered the Bombay Breakfast tea - which is supposed to come with milk. It did not. We waited another 5 minutes - I wanted to get the milk that was supposed to come with the tea. When still nobody came by, we put $4 cash on the table and left. I never even had a sip of the tea.
