Four of had great meals at the shack last night. Fish (mahi & grouper) was fresh & cooked perfectly, burgers huge, tasty!!! It was a beautiful evening to watch the waves with a cold drink in your hand & good food. We are locals & we LOVE it!
Had the fortune to stop in the Turtle Shack! A very unassuming "shack" right across from the beach! Picnic tables and no frills but absolutely the best Crab cake sandwich I have ever eaten!! It was gigantic with just enough filler to hold it together! My daughter was also thrilled with the Mahi sandwich! Unbelievably fresh! They also had a nice selections of sides and the portions were so large there was enough to bring home for a late night snack! Highly recommend!
We love this place, you can't beat the burgers and fish selection . I love the mahi sandwich and you get a nice portion of wine. The atmosphere is that of a shack however I must admit it could be a bit cleaner . Bathrooms tell all, but in all fairness I don't think the owner( not Danny)wants to put any money into improvements. The food is great the service is friendly and you can't go wrong eating there!
My wife and I love to eat here every chance we get. The selection is wonderful and always freshly prepared. This is a wonderful place to sit and talk, listen to live music and enjoy the sound of the ocean, The staff is wonderful and they make sure your experience is enjoyable. I love to order the soup and hamburgers. If you are not hungry, don't eat here. We always leave refreshed and satisfied. Frank is the best in town when it comes to playing the acoustical guitar . He is entertaining and has a great voice.
I highly recommend the Turtle Shack to anyone who enjoys good food and entertainment.
The food is OK though not much variety. But for those prices I want comfortable chairs and a clean restaurant, not hard picnic table benches and bare wood walls. They depend too much on the presence of the beach for their atmosphere and most seats do not have any view of the ocean.
My wife and I went there for lunch. We had the Hamburger with Onion Rings. Hamburger was medium cooked. The platter was fabulous. Onion rings were beer battered and about 5 inches in diameter. Tops in the area.
My family and i thought we would give the Turtle Shack a try since the reviews sounded pretty nice, but I have to say this may have been the worst restaurant experience we have ever had! We visited the Turtle Shack on Sunday June 2 around 7:30 in the evening and the place was pretty full but nothing chaotic. The servers seemed to be out of sorts like they weren't expecting any customers. Okay, so getting to the worst part after waiting an extremely long time for two burgers and some tacos(about 40 minutes) my wife's burger was completely raw and my sons was completely over cooked, the fries were cold and to top it all off the presentation was very sloppy. By the time the waitress returned to check on our party we just wanted our check so we could leave. Needless to say very disappointing and we do not plan on returning avoid this over priced tourist trap at all costs.
