Discovered the Golden Lion Cafe in August 2011, while spending the summer in Flager. The greatest fish and chips I have ever tasted. Here in Phoenix, AZ right now looking forward to May and the Golden Lion.

The Golden Lion is the place to be we moved to the area in August of 2011 and discovered the Golden Lion and it is the place we love to be. Great food and a beautiful view of the Atlantic on Flagler Beach. They have great drinks, food music and a great staff and if you can get to the Tiki Bar they have the World Famous TIKITENDER mixing you drinks and share Tiki wisdom.

We have been coming to The Golden Lion for years. They have taken a lot of our favorites off the menu. That's too bad. So long to the Shrimp Po' Boy and the Crab cake sandwich. Yesterday my lunch experience was the worst I've ever had. Firstly, I ordered a salad with blackened mahi- I have to say , I didn't realize my salad would be a quarter of a head of lettuce with the tiniest mahi piece I've ever seen, 2 small tomatoes and a side of crumbled bleu cheese and crumbles of bacon- ridiculous! When I commented to the server about the salad saying 'why didn't you tell me about the presentation?', she said she thought I already knew how it came and that she didn't want to be annoying- go ahead be annoying. When I'm paying 13.50 for a salad, it better be good! Also, our pints of beer were flat. My husband sent his Guinness back 2 times to have them pour correctly, or maybe the pump was broken. This restaurant used to be so busy on Saturday for lunch- yesterday we found a seat right away- I guess that should have told me. I love the view and the atmosphere- so beachy, but it's not what it used to be. Not going back for a while.

Been coming to the Lion for 15yrs. off and on. Used to bring our dog Sammy yellow lab he would lay under our table and enjoy the surroundings. The location, view, food and entertainment are great. I especially like the fish sandwich and the fish dinner. Recently I've been taking my kids one by one there to enjoy some quality time with them and they really like it. We have 5 children all grown up now and successful. If its to windy you can eat inside or outside on nicer days I would give them a 10 for overall.

Got a gift certificate for this place so we went on Sat night. Place is nosiy with screaming kids. Food is overpriced and terrible. Steak was grizzly and fatty. The atmosphere is maginal at best. People hanging over you to remove plates, waitress wasnt bad but the whole experience was dissapointing. When we paid we gave her the $50 gift card and a cash tip, she came back and said there is only $20 on the gift card. My wife said thats impossible and then she realized she had two gift cards and made a mistake. It was a $50 gift card.
