This is a fun place to go and it's worth the drive and the valet parking and the no credit card issue. I think if a business owner wants to give less money to the Credit Card bloodsuckers that is their choice and myself and other loyal customers seem to get over the no CC policy pretty quickly. They valet cars because the lot is small to avoid accidents and to accommodate all the guests. The tuna is great, in fact I was told by the lovely staff that the older tuna was changed to a higher quality sushi grade tuna but if you want quantity over quality, High Tides is not your place. They have a new sandwich called the Tuna Club that is fantastic. If you need ridiculous portions, go to Cracker Barrel and gorge yourself on a bad buffet. I go there at least once a week for the wings and the fish tacos. Both are always wonderful. The wings are some of the best around, never frozen and always huge with lots of meat. The staff is always nice, but when it's busy, don't expect them to hold your hand, because they are trying to serve as many people as they can. I always get what I want, even when it's super busy and crowded. SJ's is a unique place that is worth a stop. It's one of those places that you MUST to visit if you're passing through. The staff is casual but professional and they often have some gorgeous girls working behind the bar, which are also a good reason to get a cold beer any day of the week. Having some coconut shrimp and an ice cold Corona with that view of the Atlantic is priceless. Sure, some places have their off nights, but SJ's always pleases. I highly recommend it! |

We Love to go there eve time we are down to Florida, They treat us great and the food is always good! We love to enjoy crab legs and other foods on the Deck outside tables with a few beers. Servers have always been so helpful and friendly. Have been going SJ for 4 years now and love it every time. Very friendly to our kids as well. Our second home is in Flagler county and love both Snack Jacks and the Hijackers Restaurant. |

First of all, the food was pretty good quality, but there are very small portions for the price. The menu claimed that the portions were generous which is a complete LIE. The atmosphere is nice overlooking the water.
The major negatives were the wait staff didn't pay us any attention after placing our order. We were basically ignored for any refills or more seafood sauce.
The other is with the valet parkers. They are very rude. I was even swore at by one of them. They weren't to smart. They asked me if everything was alright with my spot when i was finished with my meal and ready to leave. After telling them that i was done with my meal and leaving, he seemed very confused. Maybe they wanted to keep us there all night. Very non professional to tell me FU.
I'll never go back here again because:
Bad service
Rude valet parkers
Small portions for a high price
Cash only establishment. It's 2009, time to go electronic.
REBUTTAL TO ABOVE REVIEW
Hello lovely peoples,
I am the manager of High Tides at Snack Jack. I would like the opportunity to address any problem or issue that our customers have while dining at Snack Jacks. It is upsetting to hear such words written about our restaurant on this forum, especially since we pride ourselves on great service and tasty eats. We are good people with a big desire to please our customers. Our door is always open for suggestions, constructive criticism and ideas. We regret that anyone ever has a bad experience but we also know there is always two sides to any story. Even if you have a negative experience, it is only fair to give us an opportunity to rectify the situation before slandering our business. It is unfortunate that a manager was not contacted immediately following a problem. I encourage everyone out there to do this in any establishment you patronize.
Zak: I would like to discuss your experience at our restaurant, please contact me as soon as possible. I apologize for your experience and only wish to understand what went wrong during your visit.
On a personal note: I love my job and truly strive to please the wonderful people who come through our doors. If there is a problem, I want to know and if there's something positive to be said, we always welcome that. In fact, a big THANK YOU to all those who wrote such nice things about Snacks.
Much love and smiles to all those out there in the restaurant biz,
and thank you to all our loyal customers, you guys and gals are the best!

Very pricey for what it is (just like their sister restaurant, Hijackers). Limited, unimaginative menu for those who want something other than fish. Nice ocean view and unique atmosphere. Go there if you want the atmosphere, but don't get your hopes up about the food and value. |

This place is my favorite place in all of Florida! Having worked in the restaurant business myself for many years, I can say without any reservation that the service is the absolute best! Our server made sure we were well taken care of, even though she seemed to have six or seven other tables, but then again, from what our lil' gal told us, at Snack Jacks all the servers wait on you, so you can ask anyone for anything. My family and I had so much fun playing on the beach before dinner. We had the Ahi Tuna dinner and chicken wings, then ordered some spicy steamed shrimp which were absolutely delicious. We were stuffed!
They also had a good pinot noir by the bottle, best price I've seen at $19 bucks. This place felt like a nice getaway from reality, hope I can convince my husband to move to Flagler Beach, it would surely beat the cold winters in Maine! |

This restaurant is still one of my all time Favorites in this area. You absolutely cannot beat the view and atmosphere. It is a beachside shack serving cold beer and good quality food. If you haven't been in a while you should try it again soon...the menu has changed...finally have a ton of salad options. I felt that the staff has always done a good job. You're on the beach....relax and enjoy. Only negative thing I find is that they have cans of soda so there are no free refills :( |

A place that is definitely living on its past. Other than a nice daytime view I cannot find anything good or redeeming about this place anymore. Four straight times I went here to eat and I have yet to have my server ask how the food is or offer to refill my drink. The food portions are smaller. The tuna sandwich used to stick out of the bun, now you are lucky if you can find the tuna. The steamed shrimp is a smaller count per pound, but it is a cheaper product for them. The food does taste good, but the servers are not trained properly. Also, on the last visit, the valet turned my automatic headlight switch off and we almost got hit by an oncoming vehicle as the lights did not come on automatically . All in all a place to stay away from, sadly. |

The scenery makes up for what the food lacks. It's decent food, not as good as the Golden Lion, but the service and the view make the place worth a visit. |

Due to visiting family, we went to High Tides twice in the last week. The food and service was outstanding. Our favorite is raw oysters and their "very" special "peel n eat" shrimp". Excellent, both visits. Everyone ordered their favorite seafood, and everyone was VERY pleased with their selections. The staff was very attentive, even with it being very busy. |

I have been living in Palm Coast for about a year and a half and I tried this place for the first time with some family that came to visit. Let me start off by saying that the prices here are ridiculous, I had a fish sandwich and made it a basket with a water and it cost me almost $12.00. The basket had fries and a couple of hush puppies. I made my order a basket after the fact that the waitress said that there was no extra cost but there ended up being a $3.25 charge for the basket. The food was mediocre at best and not worth the cost. The waitress was not very helpful when it came time to pay. It is the 21st century and the machine that they had that takes debit/credit was a p.o.s. I probably could have walked out of the restaurant without paying because no one paid much attention to me and my party. I ended walking out with a total bill of $65.00 for four people to eat lunch and we didn't even drink alcohol. I guess you have to be a regular here to get good service because this place was not that busy and the service was very poor. I will not be coming back to this place again. |

Snack Jack's seems to be surviving on its location...not on the food. In the past it was a great place to go, good food with a good view. The size of the shrimp for the steamed shrimp has changed at least one if not two sizes. Thus a cheaper product for them. The service is spotty and indifferent at times. The beer is still cold and view great. |

WE LOVE SNACK JACKS!!!!! Try to get there as much as we can. The kids love it too. They love that they get Oreos in their meals for dessert and we all love to sit and watch the ocean. Service is always spot on and we haven't had a bad meal there yet. Crab legs and fried shrimp are awesome. My DH loves their fish tacos too. |

Stopped there during the 50th anniversary bike week at Daytona in 1995 , camped at Flagler State Park. Walked to High Tides, one block away. Met a restaurant owner and her crew from Key Largo. She was riding a Beemer and was iron butt champ. They bought the brews until the table was covered with empties. Many stories of adventure over brews. Moon light on the ocean views and a short walk to the van camper on a deserted beach was the stuff of a memorable visit to High Tides. I even got a Tee shirt. Went back for lunch several times. Very friendly people. Cutie pie waitresses. Key Lime Pie....Tuna fish....mmmmmmmmmm. Yummie. Met Kyle Petty there on a run with his crew. Lots of bikers. Fun fun fun. Great ocean sounds. Great ocean views. |

My husband, 2 yr. old daughter and myself decided to visit Snack Jacks as we always do when we are down for a visit. Last year, it wasn't that great. This year the appetizers, steamed oysters and crab legs, were awesome--so much so that we were unable to finish our main entree. We took it home. Oysters are fresh and huge! |

Wow, I am shocked that anyone has had a bad experience at this place...I manage a restaurant myself and am always surprised that folks are more than willing to complain but never approach a manager or owner to discuss their bad experience. How are they to know how to remedy a situation? I kind of think people put negative reviews on sites like this to hurt businesses instead of fix the problem or give the business an opportunity to make up for what might just be a short staffed or just plain bad day.
Personally, I think this place is awesome, so critics beware, it is what it is without the frills.... a way cool little beach shack, good food, fun atmosphere and a great staff. Well, and the view is awesome. My only suggestion, maybe some live music or maybe a salad on the menu. Their grilled fish sandwich is delicious! |

Thank you to the Snack Jack staff who made our Saturday so great! It's nice to go to a place that has real people who act like themselves and who seem to try and have fun with the customers instead of the robot like waiters in chain restaurants. We had a delicious lunch and sipped mimosas while watching the waves roll in.

I have lived in Flagler for over 23 years and have never been as disappointed with Snack's as I was the other day. We put our name on the board for a table out on the porch and waited. We saw several tables get up so finally we just sat ourselves. We sat and sat and watched people get waited on. I made eye contact with the manager who has been there for a long time and who I know, and still not menus. I finally got up and got them myself. Still we sat. The place was not busy. There were three girls waiting tables. Our table was walked by several several several times. Finally I asked a girl with short blond hair if she could get us drinks. She was very nice and it was easy to see that she was caring the weight of the room in terms of having the most tables. I quickly asked to have my daughters chicken fingers put in considering it had been over 20 minutes just trying to get drinks. Our drinks came and we ordered. 30 minutes later our food arrived, fries cold, and minus my daughters chicken fingers. The waitress apologized and explained she didn't know what happened. 15 min. later my daughter finally got her meal. Our drinks were NEVER refilled and the last beer we ordered never made it to the table but made it on the check!! It took another 15 minutes just to flag down someone to pay our bill. The next time my sister and her boyfriend come into town I will be taking them somewhere else. |

The food gotten here in 2 times of eating is always greasy and never tasty. The temperature has been cold, not even lukewarm and the wait staff don't seem to care about anything except talking with each other about the hottie surfer kid that was on the beach. You can't help but want to like the place, but save the ocean front views for a cold beer, as that is all this place serves decent. |

We always make this the first and last stop on our many forays to the area. Nothing like sitting on the "porch" on a lazy Sunday afternoon with a bucket of cold ones and a blackened fish sandwich and some crab legs! The steamed platter has been priced out of reach, and sometimes you get a side of attitude with your meal, but that is easily overlooked. Kudos to the valet guys! |

Food was less than average but the outdoor sitting, and decent wait staff made the experience not a total waste. For my taste the seafood was too greasy, and not as palatable as it could have been. Good place to stop for a beer, but won't ever eat there again. |

We used to like this place a lot. But since reopening after the 04 hurricanes it has really lost its magic. We went there last week with out of town visitors and had a real bad time. My appetizer came out wrong so it had to go back. When it finally arrived I had no more than 5 minutes and our meals came. I was not done with the appetizer. After finishing it I tried my meal. It was rapidly cooling off and it too was wrong. Unfortunately by this time the others it the party were well through their meals. I sucked it up ate what I could of my cold wrong meal. Also, not once did the waitress ask me if I wanted a refill on my ice tea. In short, it was a very bad experience. |

We always visit High Tides while on vacation. It's always has good fresh seafood and a great beachy atmosphere with the patio seating. I love sitting on picnic table benches while eating an oyster sandwich or oysters on the half shell.
This year was not as fun. The line was horrible and we ate on the porch nearest the ocean, but the porch was very dirty and it was very hot as the ceiling fans did not work.
The wait on the food was horrible even though the waitress tried to keep us hydrated with plenty of sweet tea and soft drink. When the food got there, my half shell oysters were tiny. I realize in July they are out of season, but HTs always had oysters from different locations other than Apalachicola and they were a good size. The price was too high for the quantity and size of the oysters. Of course, I opted for the oyster sandwich, but it too, was not good because of the tiny oysters--it was mostly crust. Sangria wonderful!
The only plus was the valet parking. The young guy that took care of us was very polite and helpful. I wish I remembered his name, but all the valets seemed very nice and accommodating. HTs needs more booster seats for children. We had to wait for someone to finish with theirs before we could seat our 13 month old.
If you go during the off peak times, I would recommend High Tides, but not during the peak times of the day especially during a holiday week like July 4th. |

Under rated views and over rated food! There's little better in this area than sitting outside at High Tides with a cold drink. The food, however, is a little more to be desired. It just doesn't impress me in terms of quality or flavor and I'm not a fan of eating from a plastic basket with grease soaked paper sticking to my food. |

There's no better view at a restaurant in Flagler than that offered at High Tides. There is, however, better food. The food along with the restaurant's atmosphere is fun but don't expect anything other than typical fried seafood in a basket type offerings. Parking is a pain but has a valet. |

High Tides has a wonderful location with great views but the parking is terrible, the service quite slow and the food just average. I like to just sit an enjoy the food with a beer and some munchies here than to have a complete meal. The food is over fried, lacking in any real flavor, and even items that are blackened don't have much flavor. This is one of just 2 or 3 restaurants where you can enjoy ocean views like this and I feel that's their only real attraction. |

On 1 December 2005, I married my fiancée on Flagler Beach having traveled over from England without telling anybody what we had planned. After the (wonderful) service, we ambled along the road and had the most fantastic post-wedding meal. The staff were fantastic! When they found out we'd just got married, they brought over flowers to put on our table and presented us with mini bottles of fizz (champagne). The sunset over the sea provided us with the most fantastic end to our wonderful day.
The food, staff, atmosphere, view and drinks were fantastic.
This place is a treasure - please, please visit it and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Went here on a sunny afternoon for dinner and found a seat right by the window overlooking the BEST VIEWS of the OCEAN in Palm Coast/Flagler!! Beautiful and just like you were sitting on a Carib. island. The food is another story...to put it in a sentence...the food is a heart attack waiting to happen! If you like deep fat fried, this is your place. I had the deep fat fried fish sandwich and onion rings. Which were tasty, but I felt like I was going to have a gall bladder attack at any moment. Every one's basket looked like something from 1952. Don't get me wrong. This is a SPECIAL PLACE with the OCEAN VIEWS, but a few salads would be good to add to the menu. That said, rustic is the feel, but with valet parking, it is not a dive. For a true Beach Experience, you can't beat it!! Great place to take visitors to the area. |

Where do I begin well The Services was excellent I live on the water so that was a plus I was out there for the full moon a little over a week ago. This was my second visit to Snack Jacks the first time was well I won't say, but things have changed I must say. The food was a lot better. Now the 4 out of 5 stars came from the live entertainment There was a duo I'm not sure if they were a local group but We enjoyed it in fact all of their customers there enjoyed the music. I enjoy excellent music and these guys are talented they played different types of music and you don't see that anywhere. Now we love the Islands I felt like I was in the Caribbean. My other half Mary Beth said that the sound of the steel drums made her feel so happy and warm, and if she is happy I am happy. I will be back only if the food tatse the same and once again only if these guys are back so do not let us down, because I was not happy the first time and you want your customers to be happy. Word of mouth means a lot and people look for great food and entertainment when they leave home , so 100% improvement I was on the internet looking for live entertainment in flagler duval and st johns county and this site came up, so this was an excellent opportunity to state my thoughts. One more thing the Restrooms needs improvements. |

Just recently moved to Palm Coast from Destin and was hoping for more of an outgoing scene but a relaxing environment was a pleasant change. The atmosphere was nice with a wonderful view, however, the service lacked. The bartender was alright and cordial and every other server (besides ours) took the time to answer our questions about the area and the restaurant itself but the food was NOT good at all. Our appetizer came out after we received our main course (and after we reminded our waitress of it and asked her to take it off our bill because we no longer wanted it - which she never did). Besides that, I would recommend this place as a nice place to sit and have a beer or glass of wine (they don't serve liquor) and enjoy the view - it was a great place for that! |

If you love genuine people, good food and a wonderful atmosphere, Snack Jacks is a must! In a world of chain restaurants and the same old same old, Snack Jacks is a gem! We really enjoyed our experience there, the staff treats you like good friends and the view is unbeatable. The valet parking was a treat, (they explained to us that they do not have much of a parking lot, so they valet for safety reasons). We would suggest this place to folks who like to get off the beaten path. Order the spiced steamed shrimp and a bucket of beer and relax! |

I find this place is very over-rated. It does have a great location and the atmosphere is fun, but the food is nothing great. It's all just typical fried fish in every form that is not particularly well seasoned. Go here for a beer and a sandwich on a hot day but don't go expecting any great cuisine. |

We have been going to Snack Jack's for many many years--pretty much every time we're in Flagler. We were there over Thanksgiving '05 and we were relieved to see it's back up and running. The service was great and the food excellent, especially the crab legs and fried shrimp! For all of you reviewers who complain about the parking, just always park on the beach side of the road next to the dunes. It's not right in front, but it's FREE and easy. We LOVE this place--old Florida charm with great food. Make sure you sit outside or inside on the porch over the beach, not by the bar or you'll miss all the ambiance! |

This place is a casual beach place. It is a sister restaurant to High Jackers at the Flagler airport. The food is typical bar food - fish sandwiches, chicken and burgers with cold draft beer. They serve soda out of a can, no fountain drinks. It was good overall and we may return for the atmosphere portion. My major qualm - they are a cash only facility and pretty much force you to believe you HAVE to valet park....they accept no credit cards and don't say anything until the check arrives. Just a warning. They offer an ATM at the bar, with a fee? (not sure) luckily we had some cash tucked away, however, aren't we living in 2005? I found this a little annoying, yet, I guess it adds to laid back beach atmosphere. Teenagers working again with what seemed like no one in charge. However, overall, for the atmosphere, I'd probably just grab a drink next time. |

This is not a fancy place to go eat, but a fun place. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I thought the food was good and the beer was cold. If you are looking for a casual place to hang out, have a beer and eat some good food, this is the place. I especially loved the crab cakes! The only downside is the food takes a long time to get to the table, but then again, the menu says to allow 45 minutes for the food to be prepared. So all and all, I'd recommend Snack Jacks. |

SnackJacks has seemed to have lost some of its zing since they reopened after the hurricane damage. The service is slow and confusing, portions smaller and the pasta salad is AWFUL. The constant ads in the paper do not seem to help much either. At least the beer is still cold. Perhaps they need to bring back, if possible, some of the former cooks and managers to get back on track. |

Glad it's back open again. Food just as good and still one of the most fun places to eat in Flagler. |

our first time being at snack jack's we really enjoyed it. Our server was this darling little girl named vickie, everytime that we returned we always made sure to have her. She made sure that we had everything we needed and seemed to go the extra mile to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves. However since we've returned the past few times the service has been horrible. The food is okay like it has always been, but the main reason that we usually went to Snack Jack's was for the atmosphere...too bad that it is all seeming to go downhill. |

Always look forward to going to Snack Jacks during our vacations to Florida. The food is great the staff is very helpful and the beer is cold. All of that, coupled with a great view...what else could you want?? This place is tops for us.. |

We have had lunch often here over the past few years. This is a great beach front eatery. Excellent food with a wide selection, good service, cold beer and great service. |

I love this place. Great Crab legs and fish sandwiches. There's nothing like walking the beach and stopping for a bucket of beer and some crab legs. What a view. |

Great location, serving the most unhealthy and poorly prepared food. It appears they fry their food in old fat. If it was not for the location this junk-food place would never survive. Go there for a drink, but avoid the menu |

they employees looked sloppy with their hair unkempt. the only dress code was stained t-shirts. i found hair in my food. the service was terrible, and the order wasn't complicated. they had too many people packed in a small area,i almost fainted due to the body heat.people sitting and standing. i couldn't believe a restaurant didn't offer a salad. if you're in to healty eating don't go there. |

We always enjoy eating at Snack Jacks. The greatest fish sandwich, onion rings and Buffalo wings (very large and meaty). Prices are right especially if you enjoy the specials after 3 PM and at full moon. A fun place to eat and enjoy the view. |

This place was one of the reasons why my husband and I moved to this area. Great atmosphere, delcious and fresh seafood at reasonable prices. I love the stone crab claws and they give you a good amount of them. |

I'm not sure what people see in Snack Jacks. The location is great but I was not impressed by the food. It was mediocre heavily fried seafood with slow service. Parking is also very awkward. |

I've never been disappointed, I bring all my friends and relatives there when they visit. I love the friendly and laid-back atmosphere. Being right on the beach, it has a wonderful view of the ocean. EVERYTHING on the menu is excellent-trust me, I've tried them all! |

The Southwest Tuna (recommended by the staff) was excellent. In fact all of the food i have had here has been excellent. Never a bad meal. The staff is equally good. Even the valet and bussers make you feel at home. An excellent value and a great place to eat and enjoy the time. |
