We are newer to this area and this has become one of our favorite places to eat, and to bring guests when they visit. The service and food has been consistently great and I would have no problem recommending JT's to anyone!
It sounds like some of the previous reviews/reviewers have other issues and beefs with the restaurant/owners, etc. ~ I don't know what JT's was like "before" but the "after" is pretty awesome for us. :) |

Being a local to the Hammock and having seen the changes JT's has gone through during the recent years, I can say that I am just not satisfied. I know and understand that through sponsoring events the restaurant is trying to keep an image of past years, but clearly this is not the old JT's that we have all grown to love...... Please, give me what we use to all know and love!!!! Where are the old faces? Where are the days when a fish sandwich use to mean a FISH SANDWICH? I miss the Glory Days when JT's looked out for their locals. |

Well, it's been up and down. I have to agree with the recent * review. The last time we went, it was packed with tourists and their kids. $11 for an up charged grilled fish sandwich and a side slaw is a bit much. The piece of fish I substituted for the tilapia was sooo small! It was a bit of tail section. Maybe 3" by 4" and thin as a wafer! We had to stop at taco bell for a burrito or 2 on the way home. My dining companion had a burger but it was a loose meat sandwich! Flavor was good but the burger had gone to pieces. We made a rule, no more eating out east of the ICW until the kids are back in school and tourists clear out. |

I want to know where the secret JT's is because by reading some of these reviews, it's sure not the one I went to! I just don't understand the rave. I have been 3 or 4 times and each time I said "no more". And I really mean it this time. It's not terrible at JT's, just totally forgettable with very mediocre food and average service at best. It's also pricey. Maybe it's because there's no other restaurants in that area, but I'd rather drive the extra 15 minutes to Flagler Beach for a much much better meal. |

The food was great but the problem I had was the fact that we got a seafood bucket for 2 and there was only really enough for 1. I suggest they add more to the $46.00 platter for that price. We were recently in Savannah, Ga and had the same thing at another restaurant and it was proportioned to price. Just need to add more to justify the price. |

I recently was taken to JT's Seafood Shack for lunch and was very much delighted and satisfied with service and food. I had heard about this neat, cozy, friendly and courteous restaurant and the fabulous home cooked meals that are served. My refreshment was always filled and the service was very pleasant and attentive. What more could you asked? I recommend anyone traveling south on A1A towards Ormond, Daytona experience this home away from home restaurant. I can not say enough about their food and I haven't begun to taste all of the varieties that they extend to their patrons. But I do know that they make sure you are satisfied and your belly is full. And that was only lunch, I can't wait for dinner... yum! JT's is a nice place to escape from the hassle of everyday stress and not go broke. Thanks, guys, for a great experience. I will recommend JT's Seafood Shack to everyone I know. |

My wife and I have been to JT's many times, and usually its a hit or miss. We went on Sunday for dinner and it was a definitely a hit. We ordered a steam pot for two and it was delicious. the atmosphere of this place is so relaxing and the flat screen TVs really help from a boring dinner. Our server was very attentive and nice, though i did not catch her name. After dinner we decided to go with the fried banana cheese cake which was also delicious. The manager also seems to care about what the customers think because the manager Susanne stopped by to see how everything was. We have been there many times, and every time she is working she seems to check on every table and see how everyone is enjoying their food. Everyone should come check this place out. |

This is another one of those places we visit EVERY time we are in the area. The relaxed atmosphere is a huge plus for families with children. The food is GREAT. I appreciate the choices they have and it is not your usual "blah" fare. ( i.e. sweet mashed potatoes, blackened catch of the day) The "all-you-can-eat" fried shrimp is a fantastic choice. the shrimp are butterflied and lightly breaded. YUM!!! The staff is always attentive and kudos to the person who recommended buying a shirt!!! :) See you in the fall! |

Went on Mother's Day. There was a long wait for are meals and when they came there was one meal short and the rest where cold. There was no contact from the Manager who had her Friends at the next table that received 25% off there dinner. We will not be returning to JT's for their fresh catch of the that was not catch that day. |

My friend and I went to JT's last night for dinner & to listen to the great band they were having outdoors... My fish sandwich was great & Charlene's scallops were huge and very tasty. The staff was very friendly... indoors & out. The music was fun and the crowd very friendly. I wish they would purchase more stools for the outdoor seating area. The tables are huge but very little stools for seating. We loved it though. We will be back. Buy one of their T-shirts.... I love the logo of the "boney fish". |

JT's is in our neighborhood and my husband and I have eaten there several times since they opened but more for convenience than anything else. We always found the food okay but nothing to rave about - until last night. We had an EXCELLENT meal at JT's last night. I had the tuna entree and my husband had a selection of appetizers. Everything was outstanding and the service was perfect. The restaurant and bar was packed, but Sarah our waitperson, was attentive, her timing was just right, and she was a joy to talk to. We will definitely look forward to our next visit to JT's. |

My friends and I went for a drive south today and decided to have lunch at JT's and we're so glad we did! We had the Steam Pot with Crab legs, shrimp, mussels, keilbasi & corn on the cob DELICIOUS and one of their specialties Coconut crusted Mahi WOW! I've been here in the summer for live entertainment outside but this was by far my best experience taking the time to sit inside and enjoy their great food and atmosphere. From the time we walked in the hostess and servers took really good care of our group. I'll be back time and time again. Really worth the trip and thank you to the management staff and Chef Randall we couldn't have found a better place. |

Beware the chowdah! Well maybe we ate there too much and our number was up but we had a bad experience with the Minorcan Chowder. As we understood it, the place is closing for the holidays and we stumbled in the last day prior to closure. We didn't know. No one else closes for the holidays here. Nice tradition unless you order food on the last days. Very bad stomach aches and more. It's too bad, we like the place and we'll be back. The cold chowder should have been a warning to us. Hot things hot, cold things cold. But we ate it because we were very tired and hungry. What can I say? A hard lesson learned. We'll be back in a few months. Very nice professional wait staff. However, 86 the cold chowder. |

We've been dining here on a regular basis for the past year and have seen steady improvement over that time. It used to be much more iffy than it is now. It has become reliable. Great beans and rice and the hot sauce is unique. The place is almost as good as it's counterpart, South Beach, in Crescent Beach. My only complaint was the ahi for my sandwich was cut wrong and a bit on the small side this last time. It may have been the last piece they had. But overall, a good experience and very polite staff. |

I eat at JT's twice a year as I travel to and from South FL. Love their crab cakes and have them each visit. Service is always good and the atmosphere is great. Can't wait for a time my wife can travel with me so she can try the crab cakes. They taste nothing like the ones we get in North Alabama (which is a good thing). Also enjoy visiting the little plant nursery next door to JT's. |

The girl greeting and seating us was not very friendly, but our server was nice and quite efficient. The food was just OK but very uninspiring and we would of liked a less "canned" taste. Our calamari was particularly "strange" tasting! For the price, we didn't find it very good value and will continue our search for good local seafood. |

My husband and I have enjoyed coming to JT's on various evenings. We live in Flagler, and none of the seafood places around my house are really the same, so the 20 minutes drive is worth it. We usually only come for dinner, and the service, and food is excellent, but on July 29th we decided to come for lunch and see how that was for a change, we walked in to be greeted by a heavyset young girl with long blonde hair, who did not seem welcoming at all, she showed us our table, which was in the back and just slammed our menus down. That was surprising because usually the hostesses are very nice and talkative at night. I don't remember our servers name but she was completely different, very happy and served us accordingly, my husband and I had the fresh catch with their famous black beans and rice which is always amazing, it was a great lunch experience, though it was not as busy as night, it was nicer to experience the quieter JT's atmosphere. As we left back towards the front door, we got a bland look from the hostess and not even a "goodbye", just a condescending look. Even though the service and food were great that morning, we probably will just stick to dinner, because that hostess made us feel very unwelcome. We love JT's, but we love it more when their help has a smile or even acknowledges you. But for anyone else reading this, wondering whether to go to JT's or not, you must go, it will be the best dinner you've had in awhile. |

It was just average. Kids are welcomed but not included. Service was fair at best. This was our first time here. Family of 6. The blackened Tilapia was mushy and too peppery. The pasta sauce too sweet and bland. We did however enjoy the atmosphere. The back deck was comfortable and very casual. Picnic tables and paper towels on the tables was nice with the kids. We will try again but next shot needs to set the hook to get us back. |

Nice waitress and hostess and it all stopped there. We stayed away for several months due to bad experiences in the past. Well, it got worse. The gumbo is great as are the rice and beans. But my wife is ill from grilled snapper. We think it was spoiled. Bad odor and texture. She ate about a third of it and we tossed the rest. She may toss yet. Too bad. No good seafood restaurants around here. I suppose we'll trek to Hull's in Ormond for fresh seafood and prepare our own in the future. Palm Coast doesn't even have a decent seafood shop. |

I'm a frequent customer to JT's Seafood Shack and feel that they offer an excellent value in their menu prices, customer service and atmosphere. My wife and I have ordered an array of items from their Chicken Wings, Burgers, Specialty Salads, Daily Specials, and House Favorites, all have been good. Even when we have called the server over about an food issue we have always been taken care of by the manager and satisfied. The manager always remembers our names and makes us feel like we are in one of our local hangouts. When I'm doing business or entertaining friends and family one of my first choices if always JT's Seafood Shack. Keep this restaurant in mind for your next night out and remember to turn in your toll ticket for a refund off your dinner check. Happy dining to you.

Today we had lunch at J.T.’s Seafood Shack. I really like eating there in part because of the secluded location and interior ambiance. I enjoy looking at the old fishing items and appreciate how they’ve been incorporated into the décor. As is customary, the wait staff was moderately attentive and the kitchen took a long time to prepare our order. So long as you’re not in a rush, everything is fine. I had a great special today. It was Grilled Ahi Tuna (medium rare) served over Jasmine rice with a Sweet and Sour Shrimp Sauce. I’d definitely have that again. I thought it was a good value for $10.00. The tuna was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. The rice served with my entrée was undercooked and crunchy, but the manager took care of the matter after the waitress reported the problem. The properly cooked (and undercooked) rice tasted more like white rice, but jasmine or white rice, the overall complexity and flavor of this entrée was delicious. My husband enjoyed a cup of gumbo and another special, Chicken and Andouille Sausage Jambalaya. I tried his selections as well. He and I agreed the gumbo was to hot and spicy for most people’s taste, although we enjoy hot food. The Jambalaya was full of meat and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat. For dessert we shared their Key Lime Pie. Whipped cream is incorporated into this pie, which lightens up the texture and is a nice change from traditional key lime pie. J.T.’s Seafood Shack is one of our favorite places to eat. |

Me and my wife heard about JT's for the longest time but never had the opportunity to drop by. Despite the fish camp environment the food was out of this world and the fish fresh. Service was a little slow but even so the food made up for it. My only suggestion for the place is for them to spice up their side salads. A little cheese and croutons can go a long way. But besides that I will still return to this little local gourmet seafood shack and recommend any fresh seafood lovers as well. |

I used to love their shrimp dinner with the super good pink sauce it came with but now the shrimp are midget size and the care in preparation is no longer there! What a shame! We went here due to all of the excellent reviews and we have never been steered wrong before from the rating system on here, but this time we were.
First off our first waitress couldn't be bothered with us because were actually looking at the menu and didn't want to order, eat and run. The second waitress barely came to our table and was not very friendly when she did come. We went on a Saturday, but we were there at 4:30pm - not the busiest time for them.
The food was fine, but overpriced and I asked for milk for my son (who is 1.5 years old) instead of the soda that comes with the kid's meal and I was told it would not be added as extra, but it was!
The bathrooms are GROSS! My husband commented that they belonged in a truck stop.
Save your $$ and go some place else! |

Nice waitress but the food just didn't sound very good. They were unable to tell us the origin of the fish except to say it wasn't from Florida. We had an appetizer, a drink then left. I suppose we'll try it again. We'd like it better if they had some seafood on the menu that wasn't from Alaska or wasn't tilapia. How can tilapia be the fresh catch? It's farmed in Central America. |

I think perhaps we had higher hopes of this restaurant than it could deliver. Friends highly recommended JT's and we visited for lunch but just didn't quite see what the attraction is. The food was very mediocre and the service lacked in many ways. Perhaps our tastes are different and I feel there are much better dining alternatives in town than JT's. |

We've eaten here a few times in the past several weeks that we've been here. The burgers are the best I've ever had. Angus beef burgers that are literally "HOT" off the grill, so hot in the bun that you have to put it down after taking a bite so as not to burn your fingers. The other meals we've had (Tilapia salad) and grilled cheese sandwiches for the kids have been wonderful. A MUST TASTE is their black beans and rice. It beats any I've had in the Southeast and rivals those of my past stomping grounds in Central California. We'll be back to JT's again and again. Yes, staff are very pleasant, accommodating, and child/family friendly. |

My family and I dine here at least once a week and is one of the top restaurants within the area. The service is out of this world and they are always friendly, consistent, and willing to do anything to make your dining experience better each time we walk through the door. It's a child friendly restaurant, the servers always go out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I ordered the Steak dinner with new potatoes and veggies. I requested a side of Béarnaise sauce, the steak was cooked perfect with sautéed fresh onions and mushrooms, it was so yummy, my mouth was watering, the wildberry champagne dressing for your salad will make your taste buds shout, last but definitely not least the margarita's on the rocks with salt made with 1800 tequila are by far the best margarita's my Mother and I have ever tasted. Our Kudos to the staff at J.T's on a job well done, they are lead by a great management staff, we will continue dining here on a regular basis and encourage you to try this wonderful dining experience. It's a gem hidden in the Hammock. |

We found JT''s to be a disappointment. The reviews are mixed so we assumed this restaurant would be hit or miss and I guess we arrived on a miss day. We actually found a problem deciding what to order as nothing on the menu really appealed to us. I settled on a softshell crab sandwich and my wife had the calamari. Service was not very good throughout and when the food finally arrived it was almost just thrown in front of us. Drink refills were slow coming too, and the restaurant was not busy at all. My sandwich was dull and dry. The calamari tasted like it was re-fried and was very tough even though the pieces were very small. |

My husband and I went to JT's Shack on Wednesday of last week, the food was delicious and the service was wonderful. I am very surprised how anyone could say that the service was not good. The entire staff go out of there way to make you feel comfortable and the entire experience was very good. Regarding the prices, if you think that this restaurant has high prices then you probably don't eat out very often. Their dinner specials are wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. How much would you like to pay for FRESH fish? I know everyone has their opinion, but I think you should try this restaurant and see for yourself. I would go back anytime. Keep up the good work JT's. We must of been at JT's the same day as Christopher below as our experience was identical. It was a rainy Saturday lunch time (9/15/07) and the dining area only had about 4 tables taken up and service was lousy. Everything we wanted we had to flag down a server for... from drinks to the final bill it was an effort to get. What's worse is that they (the servers) weren't doing anything but standing around! The food itself was not particularly good and prices are expensive. Shrimp tasted strange and were soggy and the rest over fried. Overall not a good experience and I doubt I'd bother going back. |

We came in for dinner last week on Tuesday night for that great all you can eat fried fish dinner, it was a relatively slow night we had a very sweet girl as our server, unfortunately, my dinner was a bit over done but I was unhappy with it, well I guess one could tell that I wasn't enjoying my dinner, so my server ask me if I wanted something new, but all I wanted was the fried fish dinner so I told her not to worry about it, so she sent the manager over, once again a very sweet girl, she apologized right away for the inconvenience and had the kitchen prepare me a brand new dinner in less than 10 minutes, it was wonderful, she remembered us, I guess from seeing us in the restaurant and she gave us a dinner club card, which was quite nice since we go there at least twice a week. We will definitely be back and tell our friends to come too. Keep up the good work! |

Very disappointing! We visited on a Saturday for lunch and the restaurant was about 25% occupied. Service was slow and sluggish and very forgetful. Long delays and had to keep requesting drink refills. Food is greatly over priced and not very impressive. Crab cake was overcooked, calamari tough and flavorless, scallop and shrimp platter was too expensive and its shrimp were very watery and mushy. The poor quality of the food, its high prices and complete lack of service guarantee we will not be back or recommend this restaurant. |

Went there yesterday with family members for lunch. I won't be back. There were not many people in the place but we still had to wait 10 minutes for anyone to approach us for drinks. The food was okay but definitely not for the price. I was looking forward to it because there are some great reviews on here but now I am wondering if there isn't a different JT's that everyone is talking about. |

I was quite surprised with JT's. From the outside I thought it was just a cheap shack type place, but it's really quite nice inside and has a good menu. We visited for lunch and it had what seemed to be the office crowd in there and I ordered a crab sandwich and my partner had a seafood combo platter. Both were quite good and fresh. Service was a little slow and I noticed a few looking around for their servers. Overall JT's was a good experience and I'd like to try it for dinner soon. |

Great experience!! This was my second time coming to JT's and my wife's first. The whole experience was excellent and memorable. The staff was very friendly coming in and our waitress was outstanding. She was very attentive and pleasant. We got the littleneck clams for an appetizer and they were superb. We then each had the fried clam dinner which even though a simple meal was presented in a way that made you feel it was a high priced meal. The clams were big inside the breading and the coleslaw was excellent. Very cozy and we will be back soon! |

Just went to J.Ts for the first time on 4/21/07 and NEVER AGAIN..If anyone, especially the owner, took a glance at the FILTHY glasses at the bar, you'd throw up! I watched the girl bartending take a nasty glass and fill it with some kind of drink for a lady..UNBELIEVABLE! My calamari came out cold and so did the sauce. I didn't find the food good at all and neither did my husband..Left a knot in our stomachs all day! |

From the outside this place looks like a shack but once inside it's cozy and comfy. The service was relatively good, we just had one little issue with someone that worked at the hostess area, but I won't go into that. We called ahead and were seated immediately. There were 7 of us, mix of adults and children.
I ordered a margarita which was just ok, should have gone for the "top shelf". I had the salmon special and so do my mother. It was very good, cooked just right and the sauce that came on it I had the put on the side which was also good. Would have been too much on top of the salmon, just right for dipping. It was served with potato and mixed veggies.
My daughter loved the kids chicken tenders and fries, she cleaned her plate. Another member in our party had one of the pasta dishes which was huge and I believe my brother had the mahi which was good as well. Service was good, would return. |

J.T.'s is by far the best restuarant around. My husband and I eat at J.T.'s at least twice a week and always receive great service and fresh food. The place is soooo busy, we do "call ahead seating" which is really a great convience. Restaurants in Flagler county can be a bit of a risk when it comes to good food, but J.T.'s proves to be great every time. And if not, the manager with the red hair will make it right. Thanks for all your hard work! |

Usually really great, but it depends on the crew working at the time you go. Last Sunday, 2/11/07 was an awful experience. I'm one of JT's fans, been going there probably once a month since it opened. The waitresses and staff were more interested in hanging out talking at the bar than taking care of any of us there, not just our table. Our waitress was not attentive at all. Even though there were just a few tables at that time, we waited probably 30 minutes in between our appetizer and lunch. You just can't do that. We weren't even hungry anymore. The food that day was alright, but that, added to the waitress who never came by to see if we needed anything or to find out how everything was, never asked how our meal was, the unacceptable wait time, and the just-okay food made for a lousy meal. How things have changed! |

My husband and I went to JT's for the first time. We had a great dinning experience and absolutely will go there again. We had conch appetizer. I like the dipping sauce very much. My husband order Mahi Mahi special. It was excellent. The Mahi Mahi was perfectly cooked, very juicy. Well done! I had spinach pasta with blacken chicken. It was very good. The chicken was also perfectly cooked, tender and juicy.
Flo was our server. She was very friendly and provided us good customer service. The manager, Susan, also came out to greet us and make sure we enjoy everything. Thank you very much for a great service. We really enjoyed dinning at JT's. |

My husband and I have been going to JT's for over a year now and have had great food and service every time - I especially like the different size portions they offer - for someone that can't eat a lot, the smaller portion "fried shrimp" works well with me! We'll be going back again and again - it's definitely worth the $2.00 toll on the bridge! |

I can't say enough good things about J.T.'s food. If you live in this county and you have not been to J.T.'s yet, you don't know what you are missing! And, they have the friendliest staff, so willing and so helpful. The best kept secret in flagler county! |

I have been a resident of Flagler Beach for quite a few years now and have only recently discovered my now favorite restaurant, J.T.'s Seafood Shack. I visited the first time alone while on lunch break and ordered the salmon salad and it was excellent. I returned a few nights later with some girlfriends and our dinner was FANTASTIC!! I can't wait to go back for my birthday. Thanks J.T.'s. |

My husband and I visited JT's on a Friday night (9/29) and spent $47.00 too much at this place.
The food had no taste...the BBQ Chicken was so bland and when I asked for more BBQ sauce the waitress looked at me like I had three eyes. We told her the food was terrible. She did not offer anything in it's place.
Plenty of available space on a Friday night (the food must stink).
We will not be back unless they get a new chef. |

J.T.'s Seafood Shack is nothing to write home about. The hostess is too busy flirting, and the manager is too busy playing with her long hair ( that was not up by the way), to pay attention to you. When you do get someone to seat you, the waiter is dressed in a t-shirt with stains all over it, and it looks like he hasn't washed his hands since he's been there. The food is okay, if you like either fried food or paying $25 dollars for something grilled. We will NEVER go back there. |

Worth the drive over the bridge to JT's Seafood Shack. This restaurant is always busy. My wife and I go on a regular basis. The menu is varied and affordable. The chef has some nightly specials that are a bit pricy for the decor. Quality of food is excellent. The A/C is my only complaint. Blows over customers too much. Management & staff are wonderful. A Hammock Treasure. |

Went there on the fourth of July weekend, waited longer then the estimate for a table. Then we were recommended the signature dish, "Steam Pot" which was overcooked and tasteless. Not to mention there was a bug in my salad. When we told the waiter he said,"It's Florida, what are you going do?" Well, I never. I don't recommend going here. |

What a busy place J.T.'s is!! We were visiting the area looking for property and just happened to stop by J.T.'s one afternoon. I have to say the best food we have had in Florida and we ate out everyday. Service was great! Our waitress helped us with my husbands special order due to his food allergies and my mahi sandwich was so fresh, if it was any fresher it would have been still swimming. J.T.'s is on the top of my list when we come back in June! |

J.T.'s is always a good choice, especially on Fish Taco Thursday. The only bad thing I have to say is they have a few new waitresses that aren't as pleasant as some of the old. It used to be that everyone knew you, Now I don't recognize most of the people. Where did everyone go? |

I went to Jt's on a Friday night and they have "call ahead seating" I put my name on the wait and when I got there, The hostess with holes in her jeans and cigs in her pocket said they "forgot" to add me when I called. So, we waited at the bar for about 30 minutes it got too loud because the place is so small. We decided to wait outside and we went and sat in some plastic chairs. The smell from the septic tank was over whelming, probably the worst smell I've ever smelled. Then FINALLY we got a table our server insisted we get a drink from the new full bar. So, both me and my husband tried the drink special and it tasted watered down. I was very disjointed. The food was ok. Took a long time, and to top it off when we were leaving the busser who was very annoying came over and was talking about playstation with my husband. I was just glad to leave. |

We visited JT's while on vacation at Palm Coast. We had used the reviews from Flagler online to get an idea of where we wanted to eat. The previous reviews were right on the money. JT's was delicious! The kids raved about the chicken dinners and my picky 12 year old loved the shrimp! We left happily fed and hoping to return. Thank you Anthony for the great service.
