My husband and I just recently had our second experience at the turtle shack. I Have to say that for such a small place you would never know was there unless someone refers you like happened with us... (we have never seen or heard advertisement for this place)....... the food is amazing!! Our first experience was a perfect 10!! our second was an 8!
I will say that the food in this little place is everything to brag about, it is great! It also comes out in a very timely manner and the presentation is wonderful! Our only problem we have experienced was our last visit we had a young server named Angela, she appeared more interested in her cell phone, than the paying customers. My husband and I will go back, we just hope for a little better service. |

This restaurant was by far the best restaurant we ate at all week. The seafood was very fresh and cooked to perfection. We liked it so much we went back on the last night of our vacation. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The service was excellent. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. We definitely recommend this restaurant for family dining. |

Oh my! We feel bad about having to write this review. We've been to the Turtle Shack many times in the past and we have enjoyed it. However, when we dined there tonight, it was not so good. It's a sad thing to have to say because the owner is a very pleasant person and while the place needs a good scrubbing, it is quaint and has been friendly. Plus, there are just not very many good places to eat in the area. That said, one of our entrees was billed as "two tournedos of tenderloin beef". Sounded good! What was brought out were 2 tough rubbery pieces of thin fajita beef. Mind you we waited 2 hours for our order and it was supposed to be medium rare; no salt and no spice. It was way beyond well done; covered in fajita spices and not edible. We requested another properly cooked serving. The new serving of beef was properly cooked but tough as shoe leather and too spicy to eat. It was most likely a poor cut of round advertised as tenderloin. Worse yet, the baked potatoes were brown inside. Why would a potato be brown inside? Is this a new type of Yukon Brown? We asked and the waitress and she said it was just overcooked and brought two more. There were just as brown and smelly as the first two. They were rotten inside, not overcooked. This is all very unfortunate and as loyal customers, we feel betrayed. Is it really worth serving poor food and providing poor service? This is a classic example of being penny wise, and pound foolish. While Turtle may have saved a few cents by serving substandard beef and old taters, they lost two very loyal paying customers. |

We have been going to the Turtle Shack for years and always loved the chicken salad sandwich. Then something happened. Last spring we went and the chicken salad was just so-so. My friend asked if they had changed the recipe. She received an offended NO. Then this summer my sister was down visiting and I told her that I knew where we could get chicken salad that was just the greatest. Again, it was okay but... And finally today I went with a couple friends. We all had the chicken salad. While it was okay, there was far too little of it on the sandwich and not like it use to be. Something has changed and not for the better. Also, we noticed that the place is in need of a good cleaning. We arrived right after they opened and the table we were at was dirty. Looking around the tables looked like they needed a good cleaning. I am sorry to put in my disappointment because the owner (?) is friendly and seems like a nice guy, but I just couldn't not say anything. |

The restaurant is a small beachfront shack type of place with plastic lawn chair furniture and fly catchers hanging up everywhere. But it appears clean and has a friendly atmosphere. We visited for lunch and found the menu to be mostly sandwiches and burgers. A few entree type meals were offered but were quite pricey. I had a Portobello sandwich and my wife had the grouper sandwich. Both were quite good and the fries were nice and fresh. Service could of been a little quicker but overall we enjoyed it and will return. |

I went here with my family the other day, it was EXCELLENT!!!! I had the Crab Cake Dinner, it has won awards 8 years in a row!!! The only complaint was the mini side salad, it had a burning sensation within my mouth. But just order the fries!! They are very good. As an appetizer, we started off with the Italina Caprese. It was fantastic. The owner was a very nice man, who came to every table and greeted us. I hope that the owners keep up the good job!! It is the best restaurant in Flagler Beach! |

This is quite a cute little place with a whimsy interior and a friendly atmosphere. The food is good but nothing too exciting or different. I had a grouper sandwich that wasn't very memorable but it wasn't bad either. The fries were good! Prices are a little steep. |

From the outside this place looks nothing more than a seaside shack, and from the inside it is nothing more than a seaside shack. It is, however, quite friendly and inviting but the resin chairs aren't very comfortable. Service was attentive and reasonably fast. We had a dip as an appetizer which was terrible! It was not to our liking whatsoever and tasted like sour mayonnaise. Our sandwiches and burgers were much better though. Overall, this is quite a fun place to eat albeit a relatively limited menu. Just avoid the dip! |

We have been to the Turtle Shack many times...I love the crab cakes and my husband and son love the burgers. We went again Thursday March 8th. This time again the burgers were great - they guys love them. I however was not as in love with the crab cakes. They have definately gotten MUCH smaller and it seems that the meat is much more shredded. Not as much big chunks of crab like before. For the price - which is really high for one crab cake - they need to go back to size and quality. The service is always good. |

Tried the artichoke dip was different but we still ate every last bit. I agree with the salt, my father said his hamburger was very loaded with sodium - and for him to say that it must have been , he puts salt on everything. I had the fried grouper sandwich, nice plump fish fried crispy - good sandwich. My wife had the crab cake sandwich which was expensive (14.99), it was good - and almost too large - but not sure if it justified the price. Atmosphere is kept to a minimum , but its nice to stroll the beach after dinner. Limited menu, wouldn't hurt to have a few more selections. Will definitely try again. |

The Turtle Shack is on Florida Highway A1A. We got there early and avoided the wait for a table. The very personable owner stopped by the table to find-out a little about who his patrons were. He must have liked us because after a brief lively chat he comped our first round of wine. Our meals were scrumptious. The crab cakes lived-up to the Shack's venerable reputation, and the Merlot Aioli added a flavorful tang to the moist and tasty salmon. Desert was Crème Brule. Magnificent. I had dinner at Turtle Shack tonight and my food was wonderful. My only complaint is my server Kimmy. She was extremely rude and loud and didn't seem like she wanted to help us at all. When you have bad service you don't want to go back if she isn't your waitress I recommend going. |

The Turtle Shack is one of my favorite lunch spots. For seating, it has an inside dining area plus a screened-in area on the side. Although the chairs and tables are simple plastic patio style furniture, it's comfortable and adequate. The service is always excellent and you'll always be offered the daily special(s). The menu is not too large but it offers a range of interesting sandwiches, entrees and very good burgers. Try a few appetizers as some of those are quite creative and the soups are good also. Don't let it's frontage put you off. It's a friendly and very good restaurant inside. |

Took some friends to the Turtle Shack yesterday for lunch . 1st time for all of us. Wow what a surprise.! Service was excellent and the food outstanding. We dined on crab cake, shrimp, and grouper. You have to try the artichoke dip appetizer.
It is small and a very casual atmosphere but comfortable. I will be going there again! |

Excellent food and service. Yes, it is a beachside eatery. No big frills but then I see very few people dining at the beach in formal attire. The Crab Cakes are out of this world and the fish is outstanding with the light coating. I believe any eatery can improve on appearance and be cleaner. Not many meet my standards. I am just sorry it took me a year to find this place. |

Went there the first this past friday with some friends. It was highly recommended so we gave it a try. I had a steak and cheese sandwich and it was very good. My wife and two other friends had hamburgers and they were fantastic. Yes it is a whole in the wall but thats what makes it great. It has a special unique atmoshere and the staff is very friendly. They have 4 new steady customers. The only draw back for me is the plastic chairs in the outer room. Extremely uncomfortable but if they had no arms it would be much better. |

My husband and I went to the Turtle Shack twice because of the great veviews here. We were very disappointed.
Though the staff were friendly, the food was very over salted. We thought it was a lark, that is why we went twice. Even though we each had different dishes we still found that it was too salty...
(Art likes salt, so it had to be a real lot to be called salty!)

Well, we are rating the Turtle Shack a ***** and we are not being paid!! We have been dining at the Turtle Shack prior to Peter and Stephanie's ownership (four years). And, we have consistently been more than satisified by the food and the service. The owners and the new manager (Greg?) are so service oriented and welcome every guest as though they were the most important patrons of the evening. The creme brulee is a favorite! We love this place!! |

The name should be "The Best Damn Crab Cake in the World"... Better than any on the Eastern Shore. One of the best hamburgers I've had in a long time... The Cobb salad with the chicken breast can't be beat. The Chef knows how to cook a steak "Pittsburg Style" and prepares fish magnificently... All of this plus the owners and staff believe in service... A good selection of wine also, needless to say, we dine here alot. |

It really is a hole in the wall. The food wasn't too bad, but the price was high for lunch. The furniture has a lot to be desired. We would not go back for half the price we paid. There are many other restaurants around Flagler that is better and less pricey. |

My husband and I had dinner at The Turtle Shack on Friday, April 11, based on reviews I read here. We were not disappointed, the reviews were right. Don't be fooled by the outside, it's a nice beach atmosphere inside, comfortable seating, great and friendly service, and most important, the food was excellent. I had the crab cake and homemade potato chips. My husband had crab soup, coconut shrimp and seasoned french fries. All were awesome. Key lime pie and turtle pie for dessert were both out of this world. We'll definitely go back every time we visit Flagler Beach. |

I decided to try this place for lunch last week. I have to admit, when I saw the outside, I drove right past, but then remembered all the positive reviews, so I went back. Glad I did.
The inside certainly doesn't look anything like the outside. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable.
I was greeted promptly and cheerfully by the waitress who continued to serve me professionally throughout my visit.
The food was terrific! I had blackened salmon which was cooked perfectly (most restaurants over cook it). I also had a salad with blue cheese dressing which was very good. The waitress arrived with my salad in one hand and a pepper mill in the other. ALWAYS a good sign. A "classier" restaurant in the same neighborhood couldn't find their pepper mill when I asked.
I'm currently avoiding potatoes, but they had great looking fries and AWESOME looking homemade potatoe chips for those who care to partake.
All in all, a good experience and I will certainly be back.

This is a great little restaurant. Don't be fooled by the exterior. I only visited once recently but will most definitely return. |

My husband and I have had lunch 2 times at this wonderful little restaurant. It is as clean as can be, and the staff is very pleasant.. The food is unbelievably good. The house special is crab cakes. They are solid crab, with a sauce, served with a choice of potato and salad. --- To dye for!!!!!
The next time we went there, we sat on the screened in porch for lunch, and looked at the ocean. It was lovely, with a breeze and the sun on the water. This time we had the shrimp sandwich on (we chose) white bread. Solid chunks of tender shrimp. No fillers and just a small amount of mayo. and lettuce. Served with F.F. My husband ordered a cup of clam chowder, and it was just that. Clam Chowder. The broth had no fillers, but wonderful flavor and tons of sweet clams. I have never tasted any chowder as good. The menu is varied and has inexpensive sandwiches, besides the somewhat limited lunch and dinner menu. The prices also vary . It is worth every cent of it. |
