Have gone to McCharacters a couple of times and had a nice time, had great servers but the bar staff was very rude we waited for a long time to get our drinks while "regulars" came up and got what they wanted quickly and the bartenders seemed more interested in getting phone numbers from "regular" customers then helping us. When we did get our drinks they tasted watered down. I think the place has potential but needs to upscale some of there staff! |

This seems like it could be a fun place to go to as a bar but as a restaurant it doesn't quite make it. The menu is quite varied but we weren't too impressed with our meals. Service was friendly but could of been much more attentive. I recommend going for a drink and some bar snacks, but save dinner for elsewhere. |

I have been wanting to write this review for awhile but I never seem to find the time. I travel a lot so the stress kills me but it also comforts me to know, that when I do come home I can go somewhere to enjoy pleasant conversation, relax and unwind and also have a great meal. The owners have done a fabulous job of entertaining and servicing this community. I see how hard they work every day to supply customers with the best service, staff , food and entertainment anywhere. The whole family is involved and they all sing! Even the little boy who is about 8 years old, blows me away every time. When I get to see him it is really a treat! I go on Sundays a lot for football, which you can't beat the Tailgate BBQ they have. I know where I will be for Superbowl, I went there for New Years and what a celebration they had! They really put on a clean fun-filled night with a live band you could dance to and I actually got up and sang karaoke (which I am not good at ) and everyone cheered and made me feel like a star. This is a place where people meet to enjoy one another, you can let your hair down and also have a great meal. it is by far my favorite place in Flagler! I see so many bars trying to copy what they do...but no matter how hard they try, it's what is inside..and there is no place like McCharacters! |

I have owned a blues bar/restaurant and worked in a few bars as a young adult. I'm not a young adult anymore! However, McCharacter's ROCKS! My 1st time there; I was greeted with a HUG and a SMILE from one of the kitchen staff...he seemed genuinely HAPPY to be there...I still get hugged each time I go there! Yipppiii , and if you've seen the staff...no one reading this would mind getting hugged from this Gorgeously Friendly Group!
Now lets talk WHY I go there (by the way I drive 40 miles one way) For... Friendship... ICE-COLD Corona Lights and MUSIC! I LOVE Live Music! Each time I've been there I've danced... and trust me.. there are some bands out there, that you CAN'T dance to. They have a NEW face at McCharacter's his name is 'Greg Stryker' and MAN can He SING! If you like Acoustic sets.... go see him. Very entertaining!!! I'm not into sports but Good Lawd they got enough TV screens to entertain a sports junkie. I've only ordered Chicken Quesadillas and chicken fingers...and they were YUMMY. I go there to PLAY and have FUN! If you want an uptight 5 star Restaurant with a snooty wait staff and a steep bill to go along with it, go to a Ruth Chris's steakhouse or something, and stay far away from McCharacter's...however; if you want a diverse place to become a part of...Stop by. Introduce yourself and Have some Fun... I'm certain they will remember you and will welcome you each an every time you return, they do me! : ) |

I love this place. ALL of the staff are super friendly. They have great food and serve it late which is always a plus in my book. I've had their burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, soups, steak and never never been disappointed! The service is quick and precise and never leave you waiting.
Coldest beer in town too! Another great plus. The entertainment is by far the undisputed best anywhere in this county. Live entertainment on one side, DJ and Karaoke on the other, tons of TV's with every game or fight everyday. Not to mention and outdoor area for all you horrible smokers! LOL (Ex-Smoker Haha.). Did I mention the staff rocks? Oh, I i did? Well, it was worth mentioning again! :) Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. |

After a bad experience at another sports bar we decided to try McCharacters for a second time. We brought our whole family visiting for Thanksgiving and went on Wed. Mexican night. The Chicken quesedias and chimichangas were better than I've had at most Mexican restaurants. My husband tried the new crispy grouper with Caesar sauce and it was delicious. We all had something different and there were no complaints. Our waitress Fernanda was very attentive and friendly. The kids had fun in the backstage room while the adults were able to eat and have adult conversations. The band was good and we're glad they now have a dance floor. This is truly a family-oriented restaurant and we have no complaints. |

Little bit of a cold atmosphere unless you're known. We were a bit lost going in and ignored for a while until we just went and sat ourselves. A couple of "regulars" came in and were greeted much more warmly than we were. Would like to of seen more an Irish menu instead of regular items just being given Irish names, but overall the food was quite good. |

I must say, Finally a place where Palm Coastians can have a good time in a great relaxing atmosphere. I had a hunger for some wings, so I took chance and won the lottery! The best wings I ever had, "Garlic Teriyaki". Drink prices are great and the food as well. Out of all the things I loved about McCharacters I must say the staff is the best. I have never felt so welcome in a restaurant. Got to love it and will definitely be back for more. |

I frequent Character's often and I never have a problem with the prices. The bartenders are gorgeous and friendly, and they always have good specials on drinks. $3 or $4 shots, $4 or $5 drinks. The food is good also. I love the chicken strips, fried mushrooms and the curly fries. We have the burgers and the chicken wings often too. And now they offer a brownie sundae that is good but would be better with hot fudge instead of chocolate syrup, but it hits the spot if you are craving sweets.
The servers are also very friendly, even if they are not waiting on me. It's like our own Palm Coast Cheer's. So, if you haven't visited lately, or you have had a bad experience in the past, I say give it another try. At least you won't leave there smelling of cigarette smoke. |

Why is it that after every negative review about McCharacters there is always conveniently a good review to follow(is anyone suspicious?) I have been there twice and on both occasions upon entering you could smell the sourness of the bar. The bar is dirty and the bartenders are below average and the prices are overpriced, unless you are drinking tap beer. Lets see what happens when the McHenry's Sports Bar opens! |

We also tried the Jack burger, just ok. The service was below par. Too much of a bar atmosphere. Speaking of bar.... some of the folks on the bar stools were a bit young. Noticed no one was carded. Isn't the drinking age in Florida 21? Was the last time I checked. Anyway, too much of a bar for our tastes and too many young folks being served. |

I had previously visited with a group of lunch ladies. I wanted to share my new adventure and different menu with my husband and his friend and traveled there for lunch.
I am so sorry I did. On first arriving, I noticed the floors had not been cleaned but thought maybe they had a short staff the night before. Upon getting my ice tea, I sent it back because of strange taste. (I think, not brewed tea) and requested water. We decided to get an order of Nacho while we waited for our friend. . This was not a good choice. Nacho's was soaked in a ,what I felt was a tasteless canned chili. (warmed would really made a great difference although would not have given flavor.) garnished with at least day old lettuce, tomatoes, untrained black olives and sprinkled with enough cold cheese to give a splash of color. The dish was topped with two slice of Jalapenos. After a few bites and adding salt and pepper, hoping of find some flavor, we phoned our friend to request meeting us at another place. When requesting the check, The server ask if we needed a box. I calmly informed her, I couldn't eat them the first time, while tilting the platter to show the colored water moving in the bottom of the plate. I would most certainly not be interested in the second attempt. Without further comment, the full amount requested was paid and the well educated decision not to return was made by both my husband and myself. |

Drove all the way over town to McCharacters, to get four Gyros to go! The server there said that they come with fries or onion rings and a drink. I said I just needed four Gyros to go, don't need the other stuff, and she said they can't sell them to me. Must be nice to be able to afford to turn away hungry people! Won't be going back there anytime soon! |

Went today for the first time for lunch. Service was very friendly and attentive. Although not super busy. I tried the Wed Mexican special (quesadilla) and husband had the Fish & Chips. The fish was definitely the best, even though the other dish was fine. They have such an extensive menu, we are definitely going back to try other items. They had the longest "salad" selections I've seen around. |

I've been to Ireland and NYC and Irish Pubs are generally family restaurants by day and noisy and full of fun and laughter and live music at night. This is the thing I love so much about McCharacters. It is the only Irish Pub within a 25 mile area that serves Irish food. The bangers and mash are great and so is the stuffed potato. The St. Pattys Day dinner corned beef and cabbage was fabulous. If you were there on St. Pattys Day there was so much fun to be had, Irish Bands, Irish Dancers, bagpipers, and everyone dressed in their kilts. It was so much fun, I hope they continue this tradition every year. Their Jack Daniels burgers and onion straws are delicious. I've never tasted a burger like it. And if you haven't been there yet for Wednesdays Mexican night, the chicken quesadillas and chimichangas are excellent.
This place is so family friendly they cater to children. We take our grandsons their sometimes after their baseball or football or soccer games. Everyone meets there and it's a great time for all. But leave the kids home after 10:00 because that's when the adults party begins.
Thank you McCharacters for coming to town. Your food is great, you staff is friendly, and there is a great time to be had by all. If you haven't been there, you're missing out on lots of fun. |

I don't think this place quite knows whether to be a restaurant or a bar. As a restaurant, it just doesn't have the atmosphere or comfort of an Irish Pub that it seems it's trying to be and it's food needs great improvement. It's also noisy and loud for a family to visit to eat. We hoped to have a fun Irish meal but with all the karaoke and bad language it's sure not family friendly. Plus servers seemed to be far more attentive towards about bar patrons than diners. I would love to see a true Irish pub in town but this is not it. Maybe one day! |

Stood there waiting to be seen when entering but was just glared at by staff. We figured it was seat yourself so finally just went and found a table. The place was almost empty with some reggae guy playing music. After a long time a server finally came over. Service continued to be slow throughout. Food was just OK at best and atmosphere not very inviting. It seemed like the few locals sitting at the bar area were getting special attention whereas other paying guests like us felt like a burden. |

Fun place, awesome service, very friendly staff, great food, the best local place around. Nice to finally have a local place to go. Good to have a variety of things to do. One side you can do Karaoke and the other side has a band, pool tables, darts, and arcade games. |

I've only eaten there once and I enjoyed the food at time so I can't really make a fair judgment based on one meal. However, I'm very pleased to have a bar around the corner from my crib so I can stumble home at night which I have been known to do quite often. I'm even happier now that they have expanded and have pool tables, foosball and other drunken lush activities to take advantage of.
If I had to complain about one thing, it would be the live bands. Got to rock it out a little more especially with the younger crowds that attend on the weekends. 70's stuff just don't cut it. Let's compromise - 80's will do. |

What a great place for an evening out. I have been to McCharacters many times and have always found it to be consistent. Great atmosphere, great food and great service. The wings, burgers and sweet potato fries are my favorites. I was especially impressed with the male bartender, Mike (the guy with the pony tail). He's super friendly and a lot of fun. He has a way about him that makes you feel special and like you were the only one there. This has become my favorite place to go for a fun night out in Palm Coast. |

Not sure why last reviews were so poor, maybe it was a bad day. I have been to McCharacters several times and I have to say they have the absolute best burgers in town by a landslide. If you want a place to go to enjoy yourself with friends and family this is the place to go in Palm Coast. They have a nice entertainment room for parties and pool tables where it is also family friendly. Every time we have gone the food was fresh and excellent and the service has always been attentive.The evening entertainment is always top notch. I suggest we support this establishment considering we don't have many choices in Palm Coast. Each time I have been in the owners welcome us. If you haven't been there, the family are all musicians and the name of the band is The McCharacters. It is a neat concept with great people. We hope they do well, I would go see for yourself instead of listening to people who want to see establishments fail. |

The total experience was lack lust to say the least......food was not that great and portions are small.......we had the Gyros and the lack of meat was so depressing and a true Gyro has Feta cheese........have Greek friends with us and they were so displeased! really a shame. The wings were fair and the Reuben was so small. Drinks seem to be watered down and the staff needs to show who they are and like what they do! This could be great with a lot of serious improvements! Charge extra for sauce.... too sad. Upside was you have 3 choice of fries! |

It would be a good place if they actually knew how to make drinks. When I went there one night a girl was messing up everyone's drinks. It took her 4 times to make my friends drink correctly. Need better staff that knows what they're doing! |

This is the nicest place for a night out with entertainment since Henry's was demolished with the Sheraton on the marina. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant as opposed to dingy. The food was excellent...especially the burger, sweet potato fries and crab stuffed mushrooms. Service could have been more attentive. We needed to flag down our server for refills, etc. The service did not out weigh the atmosphere and the fantastic entertainment. The Gailforce Band was performing and they are 2 very talented women. We haven't enjoyed that caliber of entertainment in this area ever and we've been here since 1986. The new addition and pool tables will really make McCharacter's the place to go for those looking for a night out in a great environment. I suggest that this community support this establishment so we continue to have the opportunity for a great night out with great entertainment. |

Stopped by with my girlfriend for a Sunday evening meal. The atmosphere is very much like a bar with a mixture of sports and music memorabilia on the walls. The menu is quite typical of such a place with most dishes being names after rock stars and sports personalities. Food was actually quite good and the sweet potato fries were excellent. Although friendly, service was very slow. From placing our order to getting the check, every task seemed to take forever. This is probably a good place to go if you have plenty of time, but for a quick bite it's not recommended. |

I have been to McCharacters many times and each time I have gone the food has been awesome and the service is great! The staff is so friendly and eager to please and the owner's were very hands on and personable. Actually came in for lunch today and ate a salad with their house balsamic dressing, it was to die for. Be sure and try the Jack Daniels Burger and the chili too, awesome! Also have been there several times for Friday night karaoke and had a great time. They seem to have something going on each night for everyone through out the week. I overheard that they will be expanding very shortly to include pool tables and a live stage next store, can't wait! There is nothing like this on the Parkway, definitely recommend anyone to try it out.

The wings were OK! Philly Steak On Old Rustic Bread was WOW the best. How about the Sweet Potato Fries? GREAT! Great Coffee, but needed more dessert choice... chocolate cake for my girlfriend would of been great. |

WOW! That's all I can say! We are so very excited for this place to be here. we needed a place that's fun and casual with friendly people to talk to! I went there this afternoon and I believe destiny waited on us. We sat at the bar and she talked to us and made us feel immediately special! We ordered the ultimate nachos with chicken which was very very tasty and big, too. We split 20 wings as our meal which were undoubtedly the best wings in we've had in Palm Coast! We will definitely be back bringing lots of our friends! |

Service was poor. Our waitress (Destiny, I think) left our food sitting in the window. She was not attentive at all. Other wait staff saw it there and also walked by. Our appetizer came out with the meal. We wanted something to munch on during our long wait. The appetizer was mushrooms stuffed with crab meat. Mush... was the ultimate word. It was never put under broiler so the bread crumbs made the whole thing soggy. Wings were the only good plate. This place needs to step it up! It does have potential if they were more focused and organized. |

Nice place to eat. Offers a nice variety of healthy choices on the menu besides the regular sports bar food. The Tiger Woods salad with chicken I ordered was fresh and delicious. My friend had the veggie wrap with slaw, she said it was very tasty. The service was friendly, attentive and fast. A relaxed atmosphere, even with all the TV screen being on and the music playing. An enjoyable place to eat. |

Wow! What a surprise this place was really needed in Palm Coast. I had a Gyro with sweet potato fries and tasted the Jack Daniels Burger with onion straws that my husband ordered, it was to die for! All of the food that came to us was really good and great service. We watched the football game outside on the patio on the big screen at night and it was a lot of fun. I would recommend to anyone that wants great food in a fun place! |

This is a great new restaurant in town, which offers a wide variety of items with really cool names on menu. My friends and family came in for dinner and the music was great and the food was very good. Atmosphere is really nice, clean and fun and the wait staff and owners are really helpful and very friendly. The owners very present and provided excellent service for our large group. They also have liquor which was a plus for us! We gave it a thumbs up and will certainly come back for more! |

We found this place to be very pleasant, service was friendly , the food was good and reasonably priced. We had a good time with the Trivial Pursuit cards on the table. A nice casual place to get something to eat and hang out a while. We're looking forward to the live music coming up & will definitely be back. |
