We've been going there for years. They used to have the best hamburgers in Palm Coast, but have steadily gotten a lot smaller and less flavorful. Still like the kabobs but have NEVER gotten the accompanying hush puppies other than cold.
When it's busy, the service suffers but they try and I've never had an unfriendly wait person! Atmosphere is definitely eclectic. If you like that style. It can be noisy and is often cold.
Food was very good. I had a wrap. Others had burgers. Hands down favorite of everyone was the chips. Service was good, not pushy. Saw no planes but definitely a small airport there. We went three times in two weeks, same quality every time.
Fun location with nice theme and ambiance, but food is not the best! Food kind of tasted like frozen and fried. Mine was not very warm either. Tuna seemed low quality. Service was quite good and ids enjoyed watching the planes. Not worth the money!
Went on the third of July (night of fireworks at Town Center) and had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. They seemed completely oblivious to the fact that they might have been busy on the night of fireworks nearly across the street from them and were understaffed for a full restaurant.
I feel bad for our waitress who was really nice, professional, overworked and seemed to understand how terrible everything else was. Her and the front-of-the-house manager apologized to us and worked down our bill, but that was—literally—the only plus for the night.
Each and every plate had something wrong with it. My son's corndog was cold and when we sent it back they just nuked it for a few minutes and came out boiling hot with inedible ends. I didn't get the fries I ordered. My wife didn't get tartar sauce for her fish sandwich. My sister ordered a medium-well burger which had raw parts inside.
We've tried Highjackers a few times and each time, either the food has been terrible or the service has been. We won't be back and fail to see why people have such a high opinion of the place .
I have lived in six states and in Europe twice. I have eaten in many places and all varieties of food. High Jackers' ranks at the top of my list. The food is excellent, service is suburb and the atmosphere provides you with a welcome feeling from the time you arrive. I enjoy dinning outside and watching the aircraft traffic. I have met the manager (Lisa). She trains her personnel in an outstanding manner and conducts herself in a professional manner but maintaining that personal feeling that we all seek to find when we are dinning. If I owned a restaurant Lisa would be my choice in a manager.
Try the wings they are among my favorite choices. But I must say "it is all good".
